Thank you for sending the postcards to our unit! While soldiers routinely grab all the snacks, toiletries, magazines and books out of care packages, it is the letters, cards and postcards with heartfelt messages that mean the most and truly remind us that the folks back home care and appreciate what we do.
Thank you for showing that support. Have a great week and keep up the good work.

To all who have supported us,

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you from myself and my fellow Marines. Your packages and well wishes have lifted our spirits at a time when we are so far away from our friends and family. I wish you could have seen the bright eyed looks and utter excitement from the Marines when opening the boxes. It was a true blessing that you made happen. It makes us proud to know that our fellow Americans care as much as we do. It makes the sacrifices we and our families make worth every minute we spend here. We Americans can stand shoulder to shoulder in unison on one thing - we're all proud of our country and we're all proud of each other. The effort you make on behalf of the troops is just as important as the work we are doing here and around the world.

Greetings,

I wanted to pass on a sincere thanks to all of you who put your time into doing something for those of us deployed far from home. Your efforts are not ignored and we do this all for you.

- A U.S. Army Captain

To all the kind Americans out there,

Thank you so much for the packages. The Soldiers in my company have received over 100 care packages from you all and I would like to express my most sincere gratitude for your thoughts and prayers. Some Soldiers do not receive many packages or letters from home, and it is great to see them smile when opening the packages you have sent. Your support is a key ingredient for the success of our mission, and my company and I would like to thank you for doing your part.

- A U.S. Army First Lieutenant

To the folks of Let's Say Thanks,

First off let me say a personal thank you. I was out of the office when the package arrived and it was placed on my chair. Just to see a package waiting for me made my day! I speak on behalf of other Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines that receiving a package stuffed with goodies is a great feeling - knowing that the folks back home are very appreciative and supporting of their defenders.

I myself have children ages 7 (girl) and 4 (boy) whom I miss so dearly! Seeing the artwork and the messages "praying and wishing for your safe return" that others write really brings a tear to my eye. It is very touching to know that the kids back home know why we are here defending our country and that they are very active in the supporting us.

Again, I would like to say thank you and keep doing what you are doing as many out here don't have family members to lean on.

First and foremost, thank you! The gifts and warm greetings were very appreciated! I must admit, it was overwhelming to know that so many of our American brothers and sisters thought enough about us at this busy time of year to send something, to simply say thanks. We would like to thank you, not only for your prayers and generosity, but for the support you give us and our nation day in and day out. We are proud to serve you, our nation and our family. Thank you for the motivation, your thoughts and your prayers. Thank you for supporting us and our families. God bless each and every one of you. Have a Merry Christmas and wonderful holiday season!

I’m currently on deployment in the Arabian Gulf onboard the USS Carter Hall and just received a package. It was absolutely stuffed with some great treats and various goodies that I will be sure to use - even a CD and a video game! Hearing “Mail Call” is one of the highlights to a sailor or Marine’s day onboard our ship. Being away from home is difficult, but such a gesture of kindness makes it a little easier to bear. I can’t put into words how much it is appreciated - how such a small package can absolutely make one’s day. Thank you so much for all your time and effort put into supporting the troops while we’re overseas. Keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for the post card. It is so nice to receive things in the mail here. Some would not believe it but the simple good feeling of going to the company mail room and the clerk saying "Yes, you have mail" is an uplifting experience. Even if it’s just a letter saying "hi" makes our day! Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. (http://www.letssaythanks.com/FromTheTroops.aspx)

Thanks to all of you! We have been working around the clock and the tremendous support we receive from you and your partners has had a measurable impact on our morale.

We received a big care package which had a post card in it that included a very nice message from Iowa. The message was very touching. It made me smile. Thank you! I also noticed that someone from Helotes, TX drew a very beautiful picture on the front. That is awesome and so are you. On behalf of the U.S. Armed Forces, we really appreciate your consideration and hope that our sacrifice will lead to a better future for you and your families.

I can't explain how amazing the Give2TheTroops package and Let’s Say Thanks postcards were. My small squad was very pleased with it! We don't get much time to eat and when we do, is not very healthy so the snacks and good food are amazing - we love it! I made sure each of the Marines got a card from the children and would love to tell all of the folks who sent the post cards thank you!

I just wanted to take the time to express a heartfelt "thank you" for the postcard that I happened upon today. This particular card was the artwork of a young lady named Bethany, from Bethel Springs, TN. This was a pleasant surprise since I grew up in Savannah, TN, not more than 20 miles from Bethel Springs. I couldn't have asked for a better "uplifting" on this particular day.....this is proof that the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines are still in the hearts of many back home. I felt that maybe the folks that are responsible for these great acts of kindness would like to know that what they are doing, no matter how big or small, makes a big difference to those of us here.....especially those of us that are on their second, or third deployment in five years. I applaud the efforts of your organization and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I wanted to take a brief moment to personally thank all of you for your time, considerations, and graciousness. Iraq as you can imagine is a tough place to be, away from family, friends, and the simple things in life that we even in the army take for granted, for example running water or electricity. This place takes on a unique toughness that every Soldier here has to endure. The post cards that you have sent to all of us through Give2TheTroops make one of the many moments that we spend here in Iraq better. It reminds us all of the reason we are here - we see that in the gesture you have given us. We hope you all have a wonderful year and please, please enjoy and respect the freedoms that we all cherish and never take them for granted. We all thank you for your thoughts and prayers, they all mean so very much to us.
A Platoon Sergeant

We received some packages from Give2TheTroops a few days ago with a bunch of goodies and in it were cards from some kids back home. I do not know who all of them were, but we sat around our planning table and read them all. Thanks to everyone for all the support from back home. I grabbed a coffee mug, a lifesaver out here, and it has been attached to me for the better part of five days. Thank you all so much for everything you do for us. We ALL appreciate it here.
