So, was there no truth to the comments by his friends that he went to be with a girl?

So, was there no truth to the comments by his friends that he went to be with a girl? Not sure kitty. You now know as much as I do, except that LE "thinks" he's deceased, from what I was told.
I'm not sure what to think at this point.

Cleveland teen still missing, reward offered

Rodney A. Stokley, 19, has not been seen since around midnight on Jan. 21 at the Brook Hollow Apartments in Cleveland. He left home without a wallet or any form of identification.
It’s been over two months since 19-year-old Rodney Stokley unexplainably disappeared, and his parents are still trying to come to terms with the fact that no one has seen or heard from him.
There have been few leads and the ones police had haven’t panned out, but his family hasn’t given up hope.
“We just want him back. We need answers,” said his father, Rodney Stokley Sr.
His father related what he knows of the night his son disappeared — Jan. 22, 2008.
A buddy of Rodney’s had picked him up at the family’s home and taken him to Brookhollow Apartments for his buddy’s birthday celebration.
What he knows about what happened next is based on the friend’s account and what police have uncovered.
“His buddy and girlfriend were arguing so Rodney said he would leave. He made a couple of phone calls including one to his girlfriend. He made a couple more phone calls after that but the battery on his phone was going down,” said his father.
The last of the calls he made pinged, or connected, off a cell phone tower on Wells Road off Plum Grove Road. After that, no calls were made from the cell phone and no one ever heard from Rodney again.
“Everything was going good and then Rodney disappeared. It’s not like him to be gone and not in contact with us,” said Rodney Sr. “That’s where his trail ends.”
The “not knowing” is the worst part of it all for the Stokley family.
“We fill a void because we don’t know where he is. I need to know what happened to him and I will do whatever it takes to get him back,” said his father.
That includes putting up a $5,000 reward for information leading to his recovery. Anyone with information is asked to call Texas EquuSearch at 1-877-270-9500.
Rodney Sr. said that as a young boy his son had a tendency to vanish and reappear in the strangest ways.
“He would be in the kitchen one minute and then walk through the front door the next. I just hope at the end of this story that he appears just as quickly as he vanished,” his father said.

Hello, I'm new to replying to messages on this site but I have checked this site for close to a year now. Rodney is one particular person that I check all the time to see if he has been found. He looks so much like my son who is 17. It just tears my heart out looking at his picture and knowing that he is missing. My heart goes out to his family and friends. My son moved in with his father close to a year and a half ago and he doesn't want anything to do with me since that time. I have seen him a few times but its always because he is wanting something. I really hope nothing has happened to Rodney and he just needed space and I don't know what his family or friends are actually going thru since I have never been thru something like this, but I pray for them all the time and hope he comes back home.

Hello Cinjade, and Welcome! I'm sure that Rodney's family would be very grateful for your kind thoughts. I spent a few years in my youth in Rodney's hometown. I went to the same school as Rodney's father. My heart goes out to Rodney and his family...and I pray that he is found soon. Thank you Cinjade for having such a wonderful heart. :1222423:

Hi Cinjade, welcome to HFTM!!
I looked a few days ago and couldn't find anything new on Rodney.
I understand your feelings about your son favoring Rodney. I have a grandson that favors a child that is missing whom we have displayed here. His case is special to me.
Hopefully Rodney just wanted to disappear. His case hadn't received much attention.

This is just my opinion but I feel that Rodney's case has fallen thru the cracks like so many other cases. I wish I had a little magical wand to wave and find all the missing. In cases where someone is at fault in the disappearance and never comes forward I don't see how they can sleep at night. Just like the case with Jeffrey Ben from here in Oklahoma my heart goes out to his mother and family. They found him but no one has come forward. And like Ashley Freeman and Laura Bible they are still missing and I live a few miles from where it all took place and no one knows anything (supposely) and it seems to me like they have been swept under the rug also. I just have a hard time trying to understand how people that are quilty of something can sleep at night. I don't want to be around them at judgement day thats for sure and I know that one day they will get the punishment they deserve if not here on earth somewhere else. I wish we could get an update on Rodney's case. Thank you guys for the warm welcome.

Believe me Cinjade, I understand your feelings....we have a conscience...that is the difference between "us" and "them".
I have a brother-in-law that is missing also...just 20 miles up the road from the town that Rodney is missing from. Bo just vanished as well....they have a "person of interest", but Bo still hasn't been found. I can speak for myself, as a family member for 22 years...and having known Bo pretty well ....I think...the not knowing is the worst.
I pray that both of them, are found soon! :1222423:

Family still looking for clues of missing son
Rodney and Tena Stokley sit on their missing son's bed and look at pictures of him. The last 10 months since he disappeared have been agonizing for the Stokleys, who are holding on to the hope that their son will be returned home safely.

It’s been 10 months since the disappearance of 20-year-old Rodney Aaron Stokley, but you can scarcely tell it by looking around his parents’ Plum Grove area home. His room is just as he left it. Trophies line one wall of his bedroom, which has the normal clutter of a young man’s room.

I was reading on the first page some statements made by friends about him leaving to either Georgia or Oklahoma to marry a girl of which he made a phone call to, and I was curious as to whether that information was investigated any further. I mean the fact that he had nothing on him I believe I read, correct me if I'm wrong but he didn't have anything w/ him like a wallet. So it would be very hard to travel. However a couple things here... did the LE ever verify a call was made to such female as the friend claims to have said he heard Rodney talking to on the phone???? Second if he was intoxicated and had nothing on him could he have attempted to hitch hike and I guess third would be did his girl I believe I read elsewhere that Rodney and his girlfriend got into a fight, could it be reason that the other guy friends could have gotten mad and done something? Just thinking seems like nothing is going on w/ this case and I'm pretty sure LE has done there work but had to assume ...
