Channel 7 briefly reported tonight about jailhouse tapes recorded between
Stephen Grant and his sister Kelly. Said to have been joking about Tara's death etc. And they (SG & KU) were aware they were being recorded!!!!!!!!!!!:shock:
Said the judge was not aware of these tapes during the custody hearings.
Tara's sister reported as saying she could no longer listen to the tapes, they were so disturbing. Ch 7 says the tapes should be released within the next two weeks. Oh, and also said they discussed "a secret book deal, money the children would never see."

I KNEW IT!!! I just knew it from the start that kelly is AS much of a lying, manipulative, pos fraud as her murdering brother is guilty of!! Thanks for posting this newsbreaking information, Angeltoo!! I am not at all surprised to learn that KU has, in fact, been conspiring with SG - and LAUGHING about Tara's murder, her dismemberment, her funeral... I've stated all along, here, at ctv and IRL, that the statements and behavior of Kelly Utykanski have had me believing she is guilty of collusion, at the very least, with her convict brother, and that she is as sick and perverted as her brother is.

Tara's children should have NEVER been Court-ordered to be forced to spend ANY time - supervised or not - with someone who has been conspiring with, and aiding and abetting a known murderer!! And Alicia should have NEVER been coerced and ordered into a closed room with Kelly Utykanski. It's time to put an end to the horrors and the ABUSE that Tara's children and family members are being forced, by the court system, to cope with and survive!!!

This also happened not very far from here. If your not familiar with her case, google this chick.....what she put those poor babies through. After she killed one daughter, she literally had to chase the other through their trailer before she finally got her. I think she also killed all their pets.
This is just unbelievable....usually after theses cases, they just fade off never to be heard from again, Melanie McGuire/Scott peterson etc. The letters as well as the tapes will be released soon.

During an interview with Macomb County Sheriff Detective Mark Gramatico, Kukla said the notes documented that Grant said he killed his wife and took her to Stony Creek Park. Kukla also said that Grant, "Took her (Tara) back to his garage and had sex with her."

Maybe he didn't WRITE that to Kukla, maybe he said it to her, or maybe she's lying, or maybe the media aren't releasing that particular note. Who knows? Right now, I wouldn't put anything past that monster.

I still remember the night before the verdict and I couldn't sleep because his absolute lack of remorse was so disturbing and such proof to me that this was NOT second degree murder. This was not a domestic dispute that got out of hand. This was clearly first degree murder.

Do you see WDIV Channel 4's report this evening? They played some of the taped conversations between SG and Kelly. It's even worse to listen to. They were discussing his buggy eyes. And he was whining how his life shouldn't have turned out like this and how he was looking at 20 to 40 years. "That's forever." And he was worried that everyone thought he was a monster. And KU said he wasn't Jeffrey Dahlmer. And she assured him that people she talked to didn't think he was a monster, but this was just a domestic dispute that got out of hand. It is truly disgusting to hear.

Channel 4 will be playing more taped conversations at 11, talks between SG and KU that were "inappropriate for the dinner hour."

Well...I decided to see if anything was published since the latest came out...what can I say but "I told you so" Where are all the ku supporters now? Another thing, why was Kelly so happy when they worked out the details regarding the children. Remember her walking out looking like the cat that ate the canary? WHat kinda game was she trying to play?

I have never seen details in the news regarding the placement, earlier this week it was stated that Alicia was allowed to adopt, and WG has enlighten on the grandparents.

OMG - WingsGirl you have to read this! The very first page is so close to the argument that wikiality started with everyone over the trust fund. It had to be her, it had to be her, they were both worried from the BEGINNING about trying to make sure that Tara's family didn't have control over the monies, it seems like they or she isn't worried about the kids, except to have them so she can control the monies.

I am so frustrated!!!!!! I did not like KU from the moment that she filed that private adoption, prior to that I was trying to give her the benefit of doubt. And the hair on my neck went up in December when 'wikiality' had the nerve to tell people to put their money else where these kids were set for life - after the third page of this transcripts there was little doubt who wikiality really is, in my mind. Now I read until 1:30 in the morning (approx 100 pages in) I ended around where SG and KU are rehearsing their lies - yes lies she is trying to make sure that they have the same story about how much contact she had with the children. This is a woman that thinks she is more stable then anybody else, married four times. AND IMO it is very apparent that during her three week, hands on, with no interference she filled L and I 's minds with who they wanted to live with.

Someone else noted, and I second it, the venom that KU felt from the very first pages is very obvious.

I despise how happy it makes Mr. Grant to find out that his news stories are front page. But it is a necessary situation; the people of Michigan must never forget this horrible crime, because that is obviously an important part of the defense plan to get this POS on the streets in 10 years.

Kelly Utykanski is the worst offender on my list today. She is Stephen Grants sister. She just lost the custody battle for his children, and all I can say is thank god! Tapes could influence Grant's sentence
Prosecutors to use conversations between Grant and his sister in asking judge to exceed sentencing guidelines in murder case.

MOUNT CLEMENS -- The crude jokes Stephen Grant made to his sister about strangling and mutilating his wife may hurt him in more than just the court of public opinion.

Macomb County prosecutors plan to use Grant's taped conversations to show he has a lack of remorse about his crime when they ask Macomb Circuit Judge Diane Druzinski next week to exceed sentencing guidelines, said William Cataldo, chief of the prosecutor's Homicide Unit.

Grant is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 21. He was convicted of second-degree murder in December after strangling and dismembering his wife, Tara Grant, on Feb. 9 in their Washington Township home.

Prosecutors on Wednesday released more than 50 hours of audio files, in which Grant and his sister, Kelly Utykanski, are heard making jokes about the case while visiting in the Macomb County Jail -- despite signs that tell visitors and inmates their conversations are being recorded.

Grant's conversations with his sister will only make up part of the sentencing memorandum prosecutors plan to file next week in their quest to have Grant sentenced to more than the minimum guidelines of 18-31 years, Cataldo said.

"Those conversations were taped after he'd been in jail for a long time, and he had time to think about his crime," Cataldo said. "They obviously show he's not sorry for what he did." The conversations were recorded after he was arrested on March 4 and continued through November 2007.

During the first few visits with family members, Grant is heard speaking in a subdued voice. He avoided discussing the evening of Feb. 9, when the murder was committed.

Later, in another conversation, Grant and Utykanski joke about several elements of the case, including a Sept. 30 Tara Grant Memorial run in Stony Creek Metropark to benefit Turning Point, a domestic abuse shelter. Utykanski could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.

Grant asked his sister for a souvenir T-shirt from the event.

"I'll mail it to you and see how that goes over," Utykanski said, to which Grant laughed.

During another visit, Grant talks about the haphazard way he disposed of Tara's body, saying: "It wasn't planned. It wasn't my fault."

Grant and his sister can be heard laughing, and Utykanski said, "Mom said, 'Why didn't you just put the whole body in a trunk in the airport?' That was helpful."

Grant answered, "because I didn't do it, Kelly, that's why. I had nothing to do with anything."

Utykanski said, "What I want to know is -- and this is disgusting for the tape recorder -- if they put (Tara) all together back in the coffin."

Grant answered, "They probably laid her out that way."

"Did they dress her, too?" Utykanski asked.

Grant and his sister also made several disparaging remarks about Tara Grant's sister, Alicia Standerfer, accusing her of a "money grab" because she filed to adopt the Grant's two children, ages 7 and 5.

In one conversation, Utykanski said the children will be Standerfer's "consolation prize."

Standerfer said Wednesday she was not shocked by what she heard on the tapes.

"He obviously doesn't have a conscience, and people like that don't care about anyone but themselves. So I'm not surprised," Standerfer said.

Grant also seemed to threaten Standerfer on the tapes, saying, "if I ever get out Alicia " before his voice trails off.

Standerfer, who also picked up on the apparent threat, said she is concerned for her safety should Grant ever get out of jail.

On the tapes, Utykanski shared a laugh with her brother when she told him that a friend had named his basketball team, "Tara's Torso."

Utykanski also expressed disdain about how Tara Grant's family acted at her March 26 funeral.

Grant asked, "Did anyone mention me at the whole funeral?"

"No, it's like you did not exist," Utykanski answered. "The only time you were mentioned was when someone said something to me like, 'I'm so sorry for you; obviously you guys are suffering, too.' Blah, blah, blah."

In a sarcastic tone, Utykanski added, "They released purple balloons at her funeral, and they all wore purple ribbons because she was a beaten woman. She was never beaten."

Utykanski said, "(an acquaintance said) you were so manipulative, you even controlled her haircuts. I'm like, 'the (expletive) got a $200 haircut. They're making her out to be a saint."

"I saw her be the puppet master for like, 12 years, dude," Utykanski said.

Said Utykanski: "(People at the funeral) made me gag; they're like, 'she's being buried in a maple casket because she liked to make maple syrup.' I'm like, 'for the love of Christ, are there barf bags in the pew?' "

They also discussed trying to craft a book deal about the case in a way that would allow them to keep the money, rather than turning it over to Tara Grant's estate. Standerfer in May won a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit against Grant that allows them to garnishee any money he makes.

SG got 50-80 years. The article said he will be eligible for parole in 50 years, putting him at 88. Is that set in stone he can't get paroled any sooner? I think it is, but my boss still thinks he could be out in 20.

THANK GOD MICHIGAN HAS TRUTH IN SENTENCING. He is NOT eligible for parole until he serves 50 years...after 50 years Eric Smith says he'll be rolled in in his wheelchair and ask that sicko remain in prison...he won't live that long.
