Body found in stolen vehicle

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Police are investigating the discovery of a body found in a stolen vehicle recovered in Harrisburg.
The sport utility vehicle was reported stolen from Chambersburg, which is more than a 50-mile drive from where it was found.
The auto theft was reported Friday afternoon and it was found with the body in it Saturday morning.
Chambersburg Police Sgt. Diane Kelso says police have received information there "may have been some sort of assault prior to the vehicle being stolen." Police haven't been able to confirm that report.

Body Found In Stolen Vehicle; Police Search For Suspect

Friday afternoon, Chambersburg police opened an investigation into a vehicle theft. A woman reported her SUV was stolen in the area of Washington and 3rd Streets. Saturday morning, the SUV was located in Harrisburg in a parking lot near the corner of 2nd and Peffer Streets. Officials found a body in the front seat. Police Chief Charles Kellar says the male victim had a gun shot wound. Police have not yet identified the man.
Police are calling 24-year-old Juan Johnson a suspect. He's described as a black male, with brown eyes, about 6'2", and weighs about 175 lbs. Investigators say he's known to frequent Chambersburg, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia. He's beleived to be armed with a handgun.

:shock:Wonder why he would steal the car and then leave a body in the front seat? I hope they catch the POI or suspect in the car thief. Hope the body is not that of an innocent citizen.
Scary stuff.

Body found in stolen vehicle identified

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Authorities have identified the body found in a stolen sport utility vehicle in Harrisburg.
After an autopsy conducted Monday, it was determined that he was 24-year-old Gregory Streeps of Chambersburg. Police say he wasn't the vehicle's owner.
The vehicle was reported stolen in Chambersburg on Friday. It was found in Harrisburg, more than 50 miles away, the next day with the body inside. Streeps died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Police have identified a 24-year-old man as a suspect in the vehicle theft. He's still at large and police believe he's armed.

Suspect in stolen SUV case will be charged with homicide

A man police are seeking in the theft of an SUV in Chambersburg will be charged with homicide on suspicion of killing the man found inside the vehicle in Harrisburg.
Chambersburg Police have obtained a warrant charging Juan Johnson, 24, with one count of criminal homicide in the death of Gregory J. Streets on Friday on West Washington Street, Chambersburg.
Streep's body was found around 9 a.m. Saturday in a blue Ford Expedition that was parked in the Governor's Suite south lot near North Second and Peffer streets.
Police have not commented on links between Johnson and Streets. The SUV was reported stolen to Chambersburg police on Friday.
Johnson remains at large. Anyone with information on his whereabouts may contact their local police agency or the Chambersburg Police Department at 717-263-1611.

n a separate incident, the Chambersburg Police Department is searching for Juan R. Johnson, 24, who has frequented the Chambersburg, Harrisburg and Philadelphia areas, in connection with the death of Gregory Street, 24, of Chambersburg.
Police said witnesses heard gunshots and saw Johnson leaving a Ford Excursion with Street slumped over in the front passenger seat.
Street's body was found last Saturday in the Excursion that was left in Harrisburg.
Juan Johnson, also known as “J” and Juwan Johnson, is still at large.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Chambersburg Police Department at 264-4131.
