Teen slashes girl's face

Jessica Michelle Leal, 18, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury.
Investigators say Leal severely injured 17-year-old Terra Madison of Hope Mills on Tuesday, during a fight that broke out at the victim's home. Madison suffered a laceration to the face and was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Leal, who is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond, is scheduled to make a first court appearance today.

Officials said they charged Audrey Ann Banks, 38, of 604 Sunpointe Drive, Hope Mills, with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and being an accessory after the fact.

Also arrested Tuesday was Jenea Arielle Banks, 17, of her mother's address. Deputies charged her with simple assault, saying she was with her mother when the elder Banks drove Leal to Madison's house so there could be a fight.

Audrey banks was released on a $35,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Jenea Banks was released on a $1,000 bond for a court appearance March 3, deputies said.

Some people just shouldn't breed. Its a shame when the adults have no more common sense then a teenager or child. Chances are the mother who drove her kid over to fight has been in her own scuffles, therefore she uses that type of mindset to solve issues or problems of her own.

I think both the mother and daughter should be locked up. They both need to be required to go through anger management. The mother is as much at fault as her daughter.
