Bridge inspector confesses to faking paperwork
Georgia employee could face charges; claimed to check 18 bridges in a day

Quote from article:

"We're confident that these bridges are safe, though not as confident as we were two or three weeks ago," said David Spear, spokesman for the Georgia Department of Transportation. "But all of these bridges were inspected two years ago, and we're checking them all now."

Confident the bridges are safe when inspections were not done????
They may not want to assume the bridges were even inspected 2 yrs ago!

I saw this and could not believe it! Why can't this DOT person be arrested, pay a huge fine, something? Good thing no one has been killed on one of the bridges. Guess some departments in Atlanta need checkers checking checkers. Good Lord.
