Pregnant Woman Near Due Date Missing
UPDATED: 5:00 pm CST February 7, 2008
HOUSTON -- Volunteers expanded their search Thursday as they looked for a pregnant woman who has been missing for more than a week, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Tierra Adams, 25, has been missing since her alleged boyfriend dropped her off on the side of North Houston Rosslyn Road near state Highway 249 at about 1 a.m. on Jan. 29.
Adams is nine months pregnant and due to give birth on Valentine's Day.
"There's been too many days for her not to say anything, not call and not anything. Nobody. She hasn't called her sister, no one," Adams' mother, Rose Adams-Itive said. "He (the alleged boyfriend) said they were going on and on in the car, whatever, and he just told her to get out. This was 1 a.m. and he put her out, supposedly in this area."
Adams-Itive said she fears the worst.
"That my child is not going to come back," she said. "She's not going to come back alive anyway. If you're out there alive, Tierra, just please call. That's all. No one's going be mad or whatever. Just call. That's all I'm asking."
Volunteers searched the area on Wednesday and did not find anything. They decided to expand their search area by about five miles and will concentrate on certain areas.
"Under bridges, heavy woods, creeks, abandoned buildings, any place that could disguise the appearance of a body," Texas EquuSearch coordinator Frank Black said. "I'm very concerned for her safety at this point. There's some reasons for me to believe that she's deeply in danger if not harmed already."
Adams-Itive said Neriah Roberts, Adams' alleged boyfriend, told her the two got into an argument after he caught Adams smoking.
Roberts denied being Adams' boyfriend and said he does not know if he is the father of her child. He said he caught Adams smoking either marijuana or PCP at his house.
He claimed Adams put up a fight and said she did not want to go home to her parents because she would get in trouble and possibly have to go back to jail. Roberts said he dropped Adams off when she put up a struggle.
"Just the time she's been around me, she left jail, in and out, three times," Roberts said. "This last time she was in for eight months. I've been doing my best to help her with her drug problems."
Investigators are not calling Roberts a suspect.
"I just can't understand how you can just put a pregnant woman, eight and 1/2 months pregnant at 1 o'clock in the morning. It just doesn't add up," Adams-Itive said.
Adams-Itive denied that her daughter had a drug problem.
"We've called hospitals. She's not there," Adams-Itive said. "They've checked the jail system. She's not in there. Where could she be?"
Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller said, "If anybody just thinks they've seen anything, give us a call. We'll follow every lead that we have. She's supposed to deliver this baby in less than one week, so we just can't imagine her being out on the streets this close to delivery time."
Adams is black, 5 feet 6 inches and weighs about 200 pounds. She was last seen wearing white Capri pants and a black and white shirt.
Anyone who has seen Adams or would like to volunteer in the search was asked to call Texas EquuSearch at 281-309-9500.

Wouldn't a drug problem be easy enough to find out about? If she had been in jail recently, wouldn't authorities know about drug use?

I was curious how the guy couldn't tell the difference between PCP and Marijuana. I think he knows more than he says for sure. I can't imagine what happened to that poor woman... and even if his story is correct that he dropped off this VERY pregnant woman at 1 am he's a POS! But I think he is far worse than that. I hope she's just hiding out until the baby can be born safely though... :(

I'm thinking the boyfriend is trying to move attention away from himself. If she has been arrested for drugs, there would be a record. But I think in this case, he had a lot to do with her disappearance and know where she is and what condition she is in. JMHO

Homicide officers look closely at missing pregnant woman case
Expectant mom was last seen a week ago, only days before she was to give birth
By ROSANNA RUIZ
The search continued Friday for a missing pregnant woman who hasn't been seen since her boyfriend left her alone near a northwest Harris County road more than a week ago after an argument.
Although investigators have found no evidence of foul play in Tierra Adams' disappearance, the Houston Police Department's homicide division announced Friday it would take a closer look at her case, said John Cannon, a spokesman for the Houston Police Department.
"We want to make sure every stone is turned," Cannon said.
So as EquuSearch volunteers continued to comb the area where Adams was last seen, police reinterviewed the woman's mother and older sister on Friday. Family said the woman is just days away from giving birth and would not have disappeared without telling them. Adams, 25, was looking forward to the birth of her first child, a girl, and had discussed baby names with her sister, a relative said.
On Friday, volunteers rode horses and all-terrain vehicles through fields and brushy areas along Texas 249 and North Houston Rosslyn, where the woman's boyfriend said he last saw Adams about 1 a.m. Jan. 29.
Houston police said Adams was in a car with her boyfriend when the two began arguing.
The boyfriend said Adams left the car because she was upset with him. The boyfriend told police that he then drove away. Police said there's no evidence to indicate foul play involving the boyfriend.
But Adams' family and friends said they are upset that anyone would leave a pregnant woman on the roadside, alone.
As time passes, the family can't help but fear the worst for Adams and her unborn child, said Jan Brown, a family friend.
Tim Miller, founder of the equine search group, said he is particularly worried about the pregnant woman's whereabouts because no leads or sightings have been reported. More volunteers are expected to continue to look for Adams today.
"We stand frustrated right now. We feel Tierra is in some type of danger," Miller said. "I think we have a lot of reasons to be concerned."

Mom pleads for help in finding her pregnant daughter
By ROSANNA RUIZ
The days before the birth of her granddaughter weren't supposed to be like this.
Rose Adams said she becomes more fearful with each day that passes without hearing from her daughter, Tierra Adams, who is due to give birth on Valentine's Day.
"I'm always going to have that hope that I find my child and my grandbaby alive," said Rose Adams on Monday at a northwest Houston church where volunteers have coordinated a search for her daughter. "But every day that goes by it's always the other side you have to think of."
The worried woman and other family members asked for volunteers to help them hand out fliers with Tierra Adams' image today around Texas 249 and North Houston Rosslyn, where the 25-year-old woman's boyfriend said he last saw her about 1 a.m.
Houston police said the man left the woman on the side of the road after the two argued on Jan. 29. Police said no evidence has turned up to indicate foul play involving the boyfriend.
Activist Quanell X, standing beside Tierra Adams' mother and other relatives, called on the woman's boyfriend to take part in the search and answer questions about their last meeting. He also criticized the work of the Houston Police Department in the case, saying investigators failed to look over the boyfriend's home and car.
"She needs to be found," he said. "We're not going to sit back and wait on the investigators to get information. We're absolutely concerned that enough is not being done."
Tierra Adams' family and police have identified the boyfriend as Neriah Roberts, who declined to comment Monday.
Investigators interviewed Roberts at his home early in the investigation, said John Cannon, a police spokesman.
Tierra Adams is 5 feet 6 inches, weighs 200 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing white capri pants and a black and white shirt.
Anyone with information on Adams can call Houston police at 713-731-5353.

This was not some baby that came about from a 1 night stand. Neriah has proven to be one way with Tierra and another way when with Tierra's family. I challenge the media to get out there get pictures of him. Give Houston a face to this "uncaring boyfriend/expectanat father". You know I am giving him to much credit with the quoatations. The poor excuse for a man has barely helped in the search for my cousin. He showed up the 1st day has not searched one day since she has been missing. But i Guess what can you expect when she went missing almost a week before he even said anything. If it wasn't for Tierra's mom calling him looking for T. I hate to say this, but women need to understand if you and your BF are having problems, getting or being pregnant isn't going to help. Sadly, the rate of women who are pregnant and murdered is very high. Most BF's do not want to be tied down to the possibility of child support or responsibility until they are ready to make a committment. Its does not matter what age the man is or whether they are married to you or not. I'm not taking up for men either. Its a fact since time began.

Thats a new line younger guys give younger women just to get sex. Women are stupid enough to buy into it. Once the guys get what they want and the girl gets pregnant, then according to the BF: we weren't in a relationship and she does any and everyone. Plus women have a tendency to hear what they want to. Then she's dumped or if she keeps pushing herself into the guy's life, she gets killed.
My heart goes out to her family.

HOUSTON -- The search for a missing pregnant woman due to give birth on Valentine's Day has been suspended until police uncover new information, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.
Texas EquuSearch officials have searched part of northwest Harris County for the past week. They have been looking for 25-year-old Tierra Adams, who was last seen Jan. 29.
Adams has been missing since her alleged boyfriend dropped her off on the side of North Houston Rosslyn Road near state Highway 249 at about 1 a.m.
A baby shower and vigil scheduled for Thursday was also canceled.
Adams' mother, Rose Adams-Itive, said Neriah Roberts, Adams' alleged boyfriend, told her the two got into an argument after he caught Adams smoking.
"There's some reasons for me to believe that she's deeply in danger if not harmed already," Texas EquuSearch coordinator Frank Black said last week.
Roberts has denied being Adams' boyfriend and said he does not know if he is the father of her child. He said he caught Adams smoking drugs at his house.
He claimed Adams said she did not want to go home to her parents because she would get in trouble. Roberts said he dropped Adams off when she put up a fight.
"Just the time she's been around me, she left jail, in and out, three times," Roberts said. "This last time she was in for eight months. I've been doing my best to help her with her drug problems. She can't stay at my house with her drug habits."
Police have interviewed Roberts, but they are not calling him a suspect.
Adams is black, 5 feet 6 inches and about 200 pounds. She was last seen wearing white Capri pants and a black-and-white shirt.
Anyone who has seen Adams or would like to volunteer with Texas EquuSearch was asked to call 281-309-9500.

Community activist to continue search for missing pregnant woman

KHOU.com staff report
HOUSTON -- Texas EquuSearch has called off its search for a missing pregnant woman who is due to give birth on Thursday. But community activist Quannel X will conduct another search Wednesday afternoon.
Adams was last seen Jan. 29 around 1 a.m. in northwest Houston. Her boyfriend told police she got out of his car after they had an argument.
More than 20 searchers with Texas EquuSearch had been looking for Adams from the ground and the air, but they haven't found any sign of her.
"Being out here in the dark, you know, anything could have happened," said Frank Black with Texas EquuSearch. "And no one has seen here. There've been no tips or leads as to her being seen any place, and that bothers us."
Searchers organized by Quannel X will meet at The Church at Willow at 1265 North Houston Rosslyn at 2 p.m.
That's near where Adams was last seen. The searchers will go door to door in the neighborhood to distribute flyers and talk with possible witnesses.
The boyfriend has not helped with the search, but police say he is not considered a suspect.

Police call on public to help find missing pregnant woman
06:52 PM CST on Thursday, February 14, 2008

With their leads exhausted, the Houston Police Department and the family of a pregnant woman who has been missing for more than two weeks are asking for the public’s help in finding her.
Tierra Adams was last seen Jan. 29 around 1 a.m. in northwest Houston. Her boyfriend told police she got out of his car after they had an argument.
But during a Thursday afternoon press conference, police said the boyfriend’s account of what happened could not be confirmed and that no one actually saw Adams get out of the vehicle.
Houston police investigators said that they suspect foul play in Adams disappearance.
The boyfriend told Adams’ family as well as police that after an argument he kicked the missing woman out of his car in the 12200 block of North Houston Rosslyn.
But during the press conference Thursday, Adams’ mother Rose Itive said the boyfriend’s claim of where he dropped her off keep changing and that he should “just tell the truth.”
She also said it was not plausible to think Adams somehow took off on her own.
“She wanted this baby, it just doesn’t sound like something Tierra would so,” said Itive. “It just doesn’t add up.”
More than 20 searchers with Texas EquuSearch had been looking for Adams from the ground and the air, but did not find any sign of her. Searches for the woman were called off Wednesday.
Today was the supposed to be Adams due date for her unborn child.

Body of missing pregnant woman found
HUNTSVILLE, TX (KTRK) -- Authorities say the body of missing pregnant woman was found yesterday in Hunstville.
Tierra Adams (http://search.abclocal.go.com/search/results?station=ktrk&search=siteSearch&q=Tierra+Adams), 25, was nine months pregnant when she vanished in Houston back on January 29. Authorities did initially talk to her boyfriend, Neriah Roberts. Police say he gave an initial statement in which he told them he dropped her off on the side of the road near Highway 249 and 290 after having an argument with her. But since then, police say, he has not been cooperative.
There's no word on how she died, but police say the baby was still inside her when they found her body.
Volunteers had searched the area but found no signs of the 25-year-old. Her due date was back on Valentine's Day.

Body found near Huntsville likely Houston woman
By RUTH RENDON
Copyright 2008 Houston Chronicle
A body found in a shallow grave in Walker County last week is believed to be that of a pregnant Houston woman missing since late January.
Walker County Sheriff Clint R. McRae said today that the description of the woman found in a shallow grave last Wednesday appears to be Tierra Adams. Dental records are being compared to confirm her identity, he said today.
Adams, 25, was last seen about midnight on Jan. 28 when her boyfriend, Neriah Roberts, told authorities that he "put her out of his car" in the 12200 block of North Houston-Rosslyn in Houston.
McRae said a resident outside of Huntsville contacted authorities about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday after observing buzzards and feral hogs feeding in a rural area just east of Pine Dale road off Interstate 45 in north Walker County.
The body matching Adams' physical description was found face down in a shallow grave. The body was about 50 to 60 feet north of the road.
The last person to see Adams was her 29-year-old boyfriend, who has stopped cooperating with authorities, but is not considered a suspect in the case, police have said.
Adams and Roberts have known each another for more than two years and reunited when she was released from jail on Jan. 25. Three days later, police said, the couple got into an argument over her smoking.
Adams' mother, Rose Adams Itive, reported her missing on Feb. 1.
Adams, who has a series of drug charges, had completed an eight-month state jail sentence in January and was scheduled to be give birth to her first child on Valentine's Day.
It was on Valentine's Day that Houston police announced a $5,000 reward from Crime Stoppers in the case.
Texas EquuSearch volunteers had searched for Adams to no avail.

Walker County sheriff's deputies said a water district employee found Tierra Lechall Adams' body partially buried about a quarter-mile east of Interstate 45near Pinedale Road near Huntsville, Texas, on Wednesday.
Detectives said she appeared to have been in a 14-inch grave for four to six weeks.
Officials said tire marks found in the mud showed someone backed in before her body was buried.
Detectives said they want to talk to Roberts, but have been unable to find him. Investigators said they have executed search warrants at his home.
If an autopsy confirms Adams' pregnancy at the time of her death, charges against anyone charged in her killing would automatically be capital murder.

Sheriff: Boyfriend 'a suspect' in pregnant woman's death
06:29 AM CDT on Tuesday, April 1, 2008
By Leigh Frillici / 11 News HOUSTON -- Sources confirm a body found in Walker County last week has been tentatively identified as 25-year-old Tierra Adams of Houston.
A man walking in the woods last Wednesday found the remains about half a mile from I-45 near Huntsville. That's about 60 miles north of Houston.
"A local resident became suspicious when he saw buzzards and hogs feeding in a rural area," said Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae.
Sheriff's investigators, along with the Texas Rangers and the FBI sorted through the crime scene for the next 19 hours.
The more evidence they gathered, the more convinced they became that the body might be Adams.
"We're basing this on clothes, as well as several identifying tattoos that were found on the body," McRae said.
An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death.
Adams disappeared in January (http://www.khou.com/news/local/houstonmetro/stories/khou080206_tnt_pregnantmissing.97887221.html) just days before she was due to give birth. Her baby was due on Valentine's Day.

11 NEWS
This is the location where Adams' body was found.
She was last seen at Bingle Road and Hwy 249 in the early morning hours of January 29th.
Her boyfriend, who is the father of her baby, said he and Adams got in a fight and he told her to get out of the car. They were a short distance from their home.
Houston police say the boyfriend, Neriah Roberts, gave an initial statement but refused to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
"He is considered a suspect at this time," McRae said.
Adams' mother said Roberts' was in Walker County shortly after her daughter disappeared.
"A phone call had also been made from Nerriah Roberts' cell phone that they traced to a tower that wasn't that far from her body," Rose Adams said. "And it was more than a coincidence.
After two months of wondering what happened, Adams wants justice for her daughter and unborn granddaughter.
"i guess people would say I have closure, but she doesn't have justice," Adams said.
"You killed my daughter, you killed my grandbaby and you sit there and blatently sit in my face like you didn't know so what other justice is it?" Adams said.
Adams was critical of the initial investigation conducted by Houston police.
Michael Dirden, HPD's Assistant Chief of Criminal Investigations, issued this statement in response:
"HPD sends its condolences to the family of Ms. Adams as a result of the tragic loss of their love one. We are continuing to work closely with Walker Co. officials and Texas Rangers in ensuring that the person responsible for this crime is dealt with appropriately in accordance with the law.
While we are aware of recent comments questioning our investigative effort, such criticism is not grounded in fact and does not detract from the outstanding efforts from the investigators assigned to this case.
Not every fact known or every action contemplated by law enforcement can be shared with the public nor a victim's family. Our effort at this point is to assist in bringing the criminal investigation to a proper conclusion, recognizing that his may provide little solace to the Adams family."
Walker County and the Texas Rangers have taken over the case.

HUNTSVILLE, TX (KTRK) -- A missing pregnant woman's body has been found and now investigators want to talk to the woman's boyfriend. Tierra Adam's body was found in a shallow grave in Walker County, just north of Huntsville.
Investigators are waiting on dental records so they can positively identify the body. It took them 19 hours to process that shallow grave as a crime scene. They had help from the Texas Rangers and the FBI. They've narrowed the pool of potential suspects to three, including Adams' boyfriend Neriah Roberts, but he is nowhere to be found.
Three tenths of a mile down a country road north of Huntsville, in what can only be described as the middle of nowhere, lies a shallow grave. While it's empty now, Walker County Sheriff's investigators say it contained the remains of Tierra Adams (http://search.abclocal.go.com/search/results?station=ktrk&search=siteSearch&q=Tierra+Adams), 25, and her unborn child.
"We are basing that at this point on the clothing description of which she was last seen in, as well as several identifying tattoos that were found on the body," explained Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae.
A local resident made the discovery Wednesday morning. He became suspicious when he noticed buzzards and wild hogs feeding in that same area. Investigators say he found the body of the woman believed to be Adams lying face down. What's not clear is how long she had been there.
Sheriff McRae said, "We have several leads, some of which I feel are good strong leads. We are following up on those leads. We're going to rule out the unnecessaries."
While investigators have yet to issue a warrant for his arrest, they are calling Neriah Roberts, Adams' live-in boyfriend, their prime suspect. Roberts told Houston police he kicked Adams out of his car after the two had fought back in January. Adams was due to give birth on February 14.
Adams' mother has been skeptical of the story from the very beginning. News of this discovery has stirred up all kinds of emotions.
Rose Adams said, "Not knowing. And I know my daughter would never... Eight and a half months pregnant, not calling me, not letting me know how she's doing... I knew it was just not right."
The body was sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy. Investigators are still awaiting those results.

I hope they find him soon and give some justice to this family. What a terrible waste of space he is, if he killed Tierra and her unborn child, which was probably his.

Body of missing pregnant woman found
Police say her boyfriend is the chief suspect
By CINDY HORSWELL and DALE LEZON

HUNTSVILLE — Days after feral hogs and buzzards unearthed the body of a pregnant Houston woman who vanished two months ago, police say the father of the child is among the suspects now being questioned in the mother's disappearance.
Tierra Adams had been missing since late January. When her Valentine's Day due date came and went, family gave up hope of ever finding the 25-year-old woman alive and begged authorities to take a closer look at the woman's boyfriend, Neriah Roberts, 29.
Police say Roberts is a suspect, but he has not been charged in her disappearance or death. At least two other men are being investigated, police said.
Because the case involves the deaths of both a mother and her unborn child, police said it could qualify for the death penalty.
Adams' badly decomposed body was found after a passing motorist noticed the wildlife circling and clawing at the shallow grave last Wednesday, authorities announced Monday. The body had been buried beneath 10 inches of dirt in a muddy, wooded field about 75 miles north of Houston in Walker County. The baby was still inside the womb, authorities said.
Officials identified her through tattoos and clothing. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office soon will make a final identification with the woman's dental records.
Rose Adams Itive, the victim's mother, said she has no doubt the records will prove the woman is her daughter.
She said "Tierra" is tattooed across her daughter's stomach, and she said law enforcement officials told her last week that it matches a tattoo on the body.
Itive said she is struggling to come to terms with the loss of her daughter and granddaughter.
"I guess people would say I have closure," she said during a news conference arranged by activist Quanell X.
"But she doesn't have justice," Itive said. "She didn't ask (to die). No one would."
The man who found the body became curious, officials said, when he saw so many animals in the area.
"The motorist, who works for a rural water system here, was familiar with the area," said Walker County Sheriff Clint R. McRae. "When he saw that wildlife, he became very suspicious."
The grave is in an isolated area about 60 feet off Pindale Road and about a half mile from Interstate 45.
McRae said the body was so deteriorated that the tattoo was distorted, and only the medical examiner determined what it was.
The medical examiner has yet to determine what caused Adams' death and how long she has been dead.
Before the discovery, searchers had scoured the Houston area but found no sign of the expectant mother.
Roberts, the man family has identified as the father of Adams' unborn daughter, had told Houston investigators that he and the woman had argued over her smoking during her pregnancy. Roberts said he then put her out of his car about 1 a.m. Jan. 29 near the intersection near the intersection of West Mount Houston and North Houston-Rosslyn Road.
Itive reported her missing on Feb. 1. She grew particularly worried when when she heard nothing from her daughter on Valentine's Day — the day her grandchild was supposed to be born.
The boyfriend is one person being checked out, as are two other unidentified men, McRae said.
"We have high hopes that we will make an arrest in about a week or two," he said.
Two days after Adams' body was recovered, investigators searched Roberts' home. Blood splatters and other unspecified evidence were recovered, which investigators believe may have been the site of the killing.
In addition, McRae said a witness has come forward who has placed the boyfriend at the burial site.
"Roberts' photo was picked from a lineup," McRae said.
The witness, whom authorities would not name, was driving when he spotted Roberts using a shovel to dig out a small dark passenger car that was stuck in the muddy field by the grave "about a month ago or so ago," McRae said.
Investigators have located a similar car belonging to Roberts, who is a used car dealer, and taken some soil specimens. He said the dirt and tread marks match that which was found at the burial site.
Telephone records show a call was placed from Roberts' cell phone in Walker County not far from the burial site on the day Adams disappeared, McRae said.
Roberts could not be reached for comment.
Itive, meanwhile, is critical of how the Houston Police Department handled the investigation when her daughter first disappeared. She questions why police took so long to search the boyfriend's home.
But Houston police say they had no probable cause to search the home when Tierra Adams disappeared.
"While we are aware of recent comments questioning our investigative efforts, such criticism is not grounded in fact and does not detract from the outstanding efforts of the investigators assigned to the case," HPD Assistant Chief Michael Dirden said in a prepared statement released late Monday.
The Walker County Sheriff's Department is working in conjunction with the Houston Police and Texas Rangers on this case.

New details in death of pregnant woman
Tuesday, April 01, 2008 | 5:57 PM
By Andy Cerota
HUNTSVILLE, TX (KTRK) -- We have new information in the Tierra Adams murder investigation. Walker County sheriff's investigators tell us they now have what may be a key piece of evidence.
The key piece of evidence is a small black car. Investigators found it somewhere in the Houston area. They hope to match it to tire tracks found in the mud near shallow grave where Adams' body was found partially buried.
Late Tuesday afternoon, Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae told me investigators now have the vehicle which may have been used to dump Adams' body in a shallow grave in northern Walker County.
Sheriff McRae told us, "We have located a vehicle fitting the description of the vehicle that was observed in close proximity to the scene by a passing motorist."
Investigators are also working on plans for a photo lineup to see if that passing motorist could place the driver of that vehicle near the scene of the crime. While a warrant has not been issued for his arrest, Neriah Roberts remains the prime suspect in the case.
While Adams and Roberts lived together in north Harris County as boyfriend and girlfriend, we've learned Adams was not the only woman in Roberts' life. Sources tell us he had another girlfriend, a woman from Ghana who was in this country illegally. They were together for about a year.
While police are not calling her a suspect in the Adams case, they believe she may know something about what happened. The problem is she did not cooperate with authorities when they questioned her and was turned over to the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation to Africa.
Sheriff's investigators also tell us they traced a phone call made from Roberts' cell phone to a tower that wasn't far from her body. Roberts hasn't been seen or heard from in weeks.

Possible Blood Found At Boyfriend's House
UPDATED: 5:52 pm CDT April 1, 2008
HOUSTON -- What is believed to be blood was found inside the home of the boyfriend of a pregnant woman whose body was found after she was missing for months, officials told KPRC Local 2 Tuesday.
Tierra Lechall Adams was found dead in a shallow grave nearly 80 miles from where she was last seen alive.
Walker County sheriff's deputies said a water district employee found Adams' body partially buried about a quarter-mile east of Interstate 45 near Pinedale Road near Huntsville, Texas, on Wednesday.
Adams, 25, was last seen on Jan. 28. She was expected to give birth to a baby girl on Valentine's Day.
Investigators said Tierra Adams was still pregnant when she was found. Detectives said she appeared to have been in a 14-inch grave for four to six weeks.
The cause of her death is under investigation.
Adam's mother, Rose, said her daughter's boyfriend, Neriah Roberts, told her that the two got into an argument after he caught Tierra Adams smoking in his house and he dropped her off in the 12200 block of North Houston Rosslyn Road near State Highway 249 at 1 a.m. on Jan. 29.
Houston police said Roberts gave them an initial statement but refused to cooperate with the investigation.
Detectives said they want to talk to Roberts, but have been unable to find him.
A search warrant executed at Roberts' home on Monday discovered possible blood, as well as soil samples that will be tested with samples where Adams was found, officials said.
If an autopsy confirms Tierra Adams' pregnancy at the time of her death, charges against anyone charged in her killing would automatically be capital murder.

Boyfriend Charged In Pregnant Woman's Death
UPDATED: 5:23 pm CDT April 2, 2008
HOUSTON -- Murder charges were filed against the boyfriend of a pregnant woman whose body was found after she was missing for months, officials told KPRC Local 2 Wednesday.
Walker County investigators said a manhunt is under way for Neriah Roberts, 28, who is considered the only suspect in the disappearance and death of Tierra Adams, 25.
"Evidence obtained up to this point has assisted law enforcement in placing Neriah Roberts at the burial site located in the northern portion of Walker County. On Friday, March 29, a search warrant was also executed at an undisclosed location in northwest Houston, which has also assisted in establishing probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for Roberts," said Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae.
Adams was missing for two months when someone driving by spotted her partially covered body in a shallow grave about a quarter-mile east of Interstate 45 on Pinedale Road on Wednesday, nearly 80 miles from where she was last seen alive.
Adams was last seen on Jan. 28. She was expected to give birth to a baby girl on Valentine's Day.
Investigators are trying to determine where she died.
"As of today at 1:20 p.m., officers from the Walker County Sheriff's office transported the victim's dental records to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office for a comparison which did in fact, reveal the victim in this case to be Tierra Adams," McRae said.
Investigators said Adams was still pregnant when she was found. Detectives said she appeared to have been in a 14-inch grave for four to six weeks.
The cause of her death is under investigation.
Houston police said Roberts gave them an initial statement but refused to cooperate with the investigation.
If an autopsy confirms Tierra Adams' pregnancy at the time of her death, charges against anyone charged in her killing would automatically be capital murder.

Warrant issued for boyfriend in death of Houston woman
By Holly Green
Staff Reporter
The Walker County Sheriff’s Department issued a warrant for the arrest of Neriah Louis Roberts in connection with the death of Tierra Lechall Adams, whose body was found in Walker County approximately eight days ago.
According to Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae, the identity of the victim has been confirmed as Adams, a 25-year-old pregnant Houston woman.
Adams had been missing since Jan. 28, 2008.
“As of today, at approximately 1:20 p.m., investigators from the Walker County Sheriff’s Office transported the victim’s dental records to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office for comparison, which did in fact confirm the victim in this case to be Tierra Adams,” he said.
McRae held a press conference on Wednesday afternoon to request assistance from the public in apprehending Roberts, a 29-year-old Houston man.
“I would like to begin by offering my condolences to the victim’s family in this case, it is truly a tragedy,” McRae said. “Although it may seem like a lifetime since Tierra’s disappearance, law enforcement agencies involved have worked very diligently in establishing probable cause to make an arrest in this case.”
McRae said Roberts, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 220 pounds, has been charged with murder — a felony one offense.
“Evidence obtained up to this point has assisted law enforcement in placing suspect Neriah Roberts at the burial site,” McRae said. “On March 29, a search warrant was also executed at an undisclosed location in Northwest Houston which assisted in establishing probable cause in obtaining an arrest warrant for Roberts.
“Law enforcement is now asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect,” he said. “For information pertaining to the whereabouts of the suspect in this case, please contact the Walker County Sheriff’s Department or the Houston Police Department.”
While the current location of Roberts is unknown, McRae said the department is following up on several leads.
“We know that (Roberts) was at the dumpsite (located off Pinedale Road east of Interstate 45),” he said. “We also received a hit that he purchased vehicle insurance in the Florida area for an unknown car.”
Roberts, McRae said, was the former live-in boyfriend of Adams prior to her disappearance in January.
To McRae’s knowledge, Roberts has no background of criminal history or violence.
“At this point, we can’t release any information about (possibilities for a motive),” he said. “As far as the murder and where it took place — that’s what we’re trying to determine and we’re investigating several leads.”
Adams, found lying face down in a “shallow grave,” was discovered on the morning of March 26 by a local resident who became suspicious when observing buzzards and hogs feeding in a rural area.
“The caller advised that he had located what he believed to be human remains ... located approximately 50 or 60 feet north of the roadway,” McRae said.
Although the time of death has yet to be reported, Adams, who was due on Valentine’s Day, was killed before giving birth to the child, McRae said.
“We have confirmed that the child was present in the mother’s womb,” he said. “She was right near the full term.
“The medical examiner is in the process of performing an autopsy and I’m assuming that it began with the adult first (and then to the child). They are currently working on that.”
McRae said the department is doing everything it can to apprehend the suspect.
“The primary reason for this conference is to ask for assistance from the public in locating the suspect,” he said. “He has short black hair, brown eyes and was last seen with facial hair.”
To report any information concerning this case, call the Sheriff’s Office at (936) 435-2400.

Boyfriend charged in pregnant Houston woman's death
Apr 6 2008
Authorities on Thursday searched for a man charged with murder in the death of his pregnant girlfriend, whose body was found in a shallow grave in Walker County.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Neriah Louis Roberts, 28, said Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae. Authorities suspect Roberts killed 25-year-old Tierra Adams of Houston.
"At this time, he has not been located," McRae said. "We continue to try to locate him."
Adams' mother reported her missing on Feb. 1 to Houston police.
Roberts told Houston investigators that he and Adams had an argument over her smoking. He told authorities that Adams got out of his car near the intersection of West Houston and Rosslyn about 1 a.m. Jan. 29.
Roberts was the father of Adams' baby. Adams' body was discovered on March 26.
Authorities ask anyone with information about Roberts' whereabouts to call the Walker County Sheriff's Office at 936-435-2400.
