:missing:last out with his parents for dinner. It did not say where he was going when everyone returned home. Wonder if he met someone and if so, if that person parked his car back in the driveway.
:1222423:Hope some leads come in on this case so LE can find this young man.

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Police continue to search for a missing Waterbury man who disappeared in a manner similar to another Connecticut man.
Thomas Paternostro, 24, was last seen a week ago from Wednesday. His car was found parked with his keys and wallet inside.
Billy Smolinsk, 35, disappeared three and a half years ago. However, his keys and wallet were also found inside his parked vehicle.
Paternostro and Smolinsk are both described as family men who enjoyed working on cars.
Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Heather Hegedus reported that the Smolinsk family continues to post a billboard on Interstate 84 West appealing for help in the case of its missing son.
Janice Smolinski met with Paternostro's mother about other possible similarities between the two cases.

Someone drove his car home and parked it in the driveway? I wonder if it was parked where he would usually park it? It may sound stupid but my family all designated parking spots in the driveway. If it's parked where he would usually park it then he left with someone or something happened at home.:1222423:
I don't like the fact that he is the second to disappear in almost the same fashion as another young man.:1222423:

I live in the area that Thomas is missing from, my children play there. I have been looking for a site with people posting on the subject. There aren't to many things being done in town, people I talk to some havebn't even heard about what happened.
I can't stop thinking about it, my heart and prayers are with him and his family.
I was hoping that because I hadn't heard much that he was home, There was a very small article in the local paper today still asking for the publics help, so he isn't home yet.
I keep talking about it telling everyone. I don;t know how to find out what I can do.
There aren't any posters up in the neighborhood I don't know how to find out how to help.

I am surprised that no one has put out any fliers in the area.. I can make a pdf file for fliers that can be downloaded and printed if they need to be done. Then people can hand them out. The missing need to be in the public eye or people don't think about them, sad.. but true.

I have a PDF file I downloaded from the local police dept website I just don't know if I can or should just print them out and put them up. Only because I hadn't seen it done already. It's not even done on his street.
I just didn't want to get involved in something I shouldn't. Wasn;t sure about law enforcement or his family, I don;t want to go where I shouldn't or upset anyone. As I said I was hoping he was home when I wasn;t seeing much.

Gosh, that is so sad. No posters up? How are they going to find this young man if they do not get his picture up out there? Try calling the police and ask if there are any groups working on getting out the "missing person" information for Thomas. Someone has got to get the ball rolling. I'd think this would be all over the front page of the paper and the local TV news.
:1222423:Hope that Thomas is found safe and found soon.

Do you know any member(s) of his family that you could ask about hanging fliers? If not, I would ask the police department if it was ok to hang them. I'm would say that's why they did a pdf file and made it available for download. I can't see them saying no to putting them out.

Men Charged After Body Found In Waterbury
Police: Missing Man Killed Execution-Style In Woodded Area
WATERBURY, Conn. -- Waterbury police have charged two men in the fatal shooting of a missing man whose body was found in a wooded area on Wednesday.
Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Katy Zachry reported the man's body remained covered by thick brush and snow when forensics officials arrived to a wooded area on Whitewood Road between a housing complex and a medical facility near Oakville Avenue at about 12:30 p.m.
Police identified the man on Thursday morning as Thomas Paternostro, 24, saying he drove up to his home earlier this month, where a former high school classmate was waiting for him with a gun.
Quincy Rapp forced Paternostro to walk more than mile to a wooded area where police believe Rapp shot Paternostro execution-style, police said.
"Preliminary reports revealed that Paternostro sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body," Waterbury police Lt. Fred Spagnolo said in a written statement.
Police charged Rapp with murder and first-degree kidnapping with a firearm. A second man, Nicholas Garrity, 25, was charged with first-degree hindering of prosecution. Rapp remains held on $1.5 million bond and Garrity remains held on $75,000 bond.
The location where Paternostro's body was found is less than a mile from his family's home.
"That's what's so scary about this. I grew up on Bunker Hill Avenue, not far, and I've never seen anything like this around here," said Sharon Morales, a witness.
Rapp, 26, of Waterbury, had feuded with Paternostro for about a year, leading to the shooting earlier this month, police said.
Paternostro's car was found blocking the family driveway early on Feb. 7, with the engine still running.

WATERBURY, Conn. -- A man who has no criminal history could face the death penalty after confessing in a police affidavit to killing a longtime childhood friend.
Quincy Rapp, 26, will likely remain in jail on $1.5 million bond on charges of murder and first-degree kidnapping of Thomas Paternostro, 24, of Waterbury.
Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Heather Hegedus reported Rapp and Paternostro, friends since high school, apparently had a falling out.
"Rapp accuses Paternostro of breaking into his home back around the first if the year," Waterbury State's Attorney John A. Connelly said.
Rapp said Paternostro stole his marijuana and told police: "This is when I knew that I had to shoot Tom. I thought I can't live like this, so I knew I had to shoot him to end this."
Rapp told police he walked to Paternostro's house on the night of Feb. 6, waited for him to come home, threatened him with a gun, walked him to a wooded area on Whitewood Road and shot Paternostro in the back of the head, killing him.
Nicholas Garrity, 25, was also arrested in the investigation, arraigned on charges of first-degree hindering of prosecution. Police said Garrity is accused of driving Rapp around town, helping Rapp to dispose of a gun and clothing Rapp was wearing.
Garrity also described in a sworn affidavit how he Rapp killed the victim, police said. Garrity remains held on $75,000 bond.
Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Katy Zachry reported the man's body was found covered by thick brush and snow when forensics officials arrived to a wooded area on Whitewood Road between a housing complex and a medical facility near Oakville Avenue at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
"That's what's so scary about this. I grew up on Bunker Hill Avenue, not far, and I've never seen anything like this around here," said Sharon Morales, a witness.
Paternostro's car was found blocking the family driveway early on Feb. 7, with the engine still running.
Three weeks later, Paternostro's friends and family remain in shock after they held out hope to find Paternostro alive, Hegedus said. Friends and family had papered the city with fliers and they printed T-shirts.
Paternostro's longtime friend Justin Pitt is having a hard time making sense of a senseless killing. He said he thinks this was all about money and he doesn't think Paternostro was capable of robbing anyone.
"Tom's a smaller guy, he never carried a weapon, he wasn't violent, these people were obviously more violent than he was," Pitt said.
Authorities said Rapp has no prior criminal history; however, he is scheduled to appear in court in April for a minor offense, Eyewitness News has learned. He has been placed on suicide watch.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court next month. The state's attorney's office is investigating whether the state can seek the death penalty for Rapp.

Two men charged in execution killing of Bunker Hill man
By: Tom Burns and Jim Taylor 03/06/2008
WATERBURY - Two Waterbury men were arrested in the death of a Bunker Hill man who went missing from the driveway of his family home.
According to Waterbury police, Thomas Paternostro, 24, a resident of the Bunker Hill section of Waterbury, went missing on February 6, leaving behind his cell-phone in his still-running car. His body was found on February 26, in the area of 177 Whitewood Road.
Quincy Rapp, 26, was charged with murder and first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, and is being held on a $1.5 million bond. Nicholas Garrity, 25, was charged with hindering prosecution in the first degree and held on a $75,000 bond.
The investigation was wrapped up last week, on Friday, February 27, according to Lt. Fred Spagnolo of the Waterbury Police Department.
"The State's Attorney office received information on the whereabouts of the body from a tipster," said Lt. Spagnolo. Police were also able to locate the gun allegedly used to commit the murder from the same tipster.
A state police forensics team assisted Waterbury police in the investigation and reports indicated that Paternostro suffered a gunshot wound. Police stated they believe they have located the gun that was used in the shooting. According to police, Mr. Rapp shot and killed the victim and that Mr. Garrity helped cover up the crime.
Although the investigation continues forensically, according to Lt. Spagnolo, the criminal investigation has been closed.
According to Waterbury State's Attorney John A. Connelly, Mr. Rapp accused Mr. Paternostro of breaking into his home around the first of the year, stealing a quantity of marijuana. Police stated Mr. Rapp told them he walked to Mr. Paternostro's house on the night of Thursday, February 6, waited for him to come home. and threatened him with a gun.
Mr. Rapp allegedly then walked Mr. Paternostro to a wooded area on Whitewood Road and shot him in the back of the head, killing him.
Mr. Paternostro's car was found blocking the family driveway early on Friday, February 7, with the engine still running.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court next month. The state's attorney's office is investigating whether the state can seek the death penalty for Mr. Rapp.

Suspect in Waterbury shooting could face death penalty
March 13, 2008
WATERBURY, Conn. - Waterbury prosecutors have filed a capital felony charge against a suspect in the ambush killing of a friend.
Prosecutors Wednesday added the new charge against 26-year-old Quincy Rapp who is accused of lying in wait for a former friend, marching him more than a mile in the rain and executing him.
Twenty-four-year-old Thomas Paternostro had been missing for three weeks until Feb. 27, when a tipster led police to a wooded area where his body was found.
Police say Rapp has confessed shooting Paternostro in the back of the head.
If Rapp is ultimately convicted of capital felony, prosecutors could seek the death penalty, but that decision has not yet been made.
