Six weeks have past and today is the big day. I can hardly wait. I checked the weather for Kenosha and surrounding counties and some roads are closed are due to flooding in addition to a warning to stay off icy roads. So, if Jean C. makes it there today; I guess we're on.

Oh; and good morning everyone:mornincoffee:

:0012:hey peeps!

i didn't see a thread started yet, so i thought i'd give it a try. hope this is ok. i've had another sleepless nite--going thru one of my insomniac phases...ugh i've never had an ambien, but i sure wanted one last nite! tylenol pm just didn't do it for me!

anyway-- big day today! can't wait to hear jam's CA--i hope he remembered everything!! i'm nervous thinking he will leave out something really important! silly, i know...but i'm feeling :basic44:

Good morning, everyone. :mornincoffee:

Adm has asked that everyone let a thread run to at least 800 posts before you start another one. This one is fine, but let's don't start another before 800, okay?

Thanks, and have a great day.

Good morning BamBam. You did good with the thread. :)

I thought I was going to miss CA today and wasn't smiling but as it turns out, I will probably be here most of the morning!! At least until noon and maybe afternoon also.

The downside of that is tomorrow I will be gone for several hours and I want to be at my computer when the verdict (or lack thereof and a hung jury is scary) comes down.

QUESTION FOR ROAMER:
The weekend thread didn't reach 800 posts, and here we are on Monday --not a holiday Monday because court's in session -- and CLOSING ARGUMENTS happen today.

Should we have continued on the weekend thread this morning?

Probably the only one who wont feel well at the courthouse is Mark. LOL I think he will have a few stomach rolling butterflies from this point on till verdict is read.

I do hope the weather permits court going live today and in court video streams are good and not constantly buffering!!

Are they starting at the normal time today?

kellabeck
02-18-2008, 08:49 AM
Yes, I am sure they will start late, which is the normal time.
And first we will hear the judge's reading of JI.
Usually that goes last but I like it this way. First, it gives the jury a frame of law in which to receive the arguments.
Second, it means that the very last things they will hear will be from the mouth of Robert Jambois!! And he will be exhorting them to CONVICT!

kellabeck
02-18-2008, 08:54 AM
HOW ARE YOU PLANNING TO VIEW THE CAs??

I have decided not to post until after because I don't want to be distracted and miss anything. I am hopeful that the wonderful SLSmith will be posting the CAs on YouTube but I don't know.
So my plan is to listen, knit and take notes and post later.

Some of you may be at work. Some at home. What are your plans for this very exciting, much-anticipated day?

Anxious to get this started. Son has to get allergy shots today and I'm trying to figure out when to go. Expected lunchbreak today will probably be when dr's office is at lunch. a week or so ago, I hit pause on mine by mistake I believe, when I just wanted a backup should I lose the live feed. I never lost the live feed, but when I went back to the radio feed to turn it off, I hit play and it picked up the testimony from where I paused it earlier in the day. I wasn't expecting that to happen, but I've tucked that info away just incase I've had to miss testimony.

It took me less than that, thank God, because I got a job at an insurance co., and they had a nurse practitioner talk about the subject one day. I called her in desperation one day, and she gave me info for my GYN which worked. In my experience, NP are often smarter than the doctors (especially if they are female).

I'm 41 and definitely premenopausal but was feeling wacko from low hormones..I am overweight and fat cells create estrogen which blocks the body from making more estrogen....I too was feeling like a raving lunatic...The problem was solved with birth control pills (which I went on and eventually was able to get off).

Just wanted to warn...just because you're over 40 and hormones out of wack doesn't mean you're perimenopausal.

Have you had your hormone levels checked? This happened to me when I was 41. I was going through perimenopause. It took forever to get the right diagnosis.

And I was thinking to rule out a B12 deficiency... or try taking extra B12. I had wicked insomnia when I was B12 deficient. A good check up sounds like a good idea.

Yes I did. I knew he was a patient the second I heard about the murder.

CAs are my super bowls. :basic44:

O/T what do you make of OJ's girlfriend and her injuries? She's been in ICU....may have to have brain surgery? All that for a "fall at a gas station"? hmmm......I don't think so, even if she fell off the roof of the gas station.

I am not defending OJ for sure. But the brain injury is consistent with a hard fall on concrete if she hit her head. A witness said she was stumbling around. Like she was drunk.

The CDA TH on Thurs. said that the jury will not remember that Rumack was "mistaken" about his fee ("this shrill nonsense") and they will be remembering the tearful Miss Brown!! "Aaron Dillard is a con man!" testimony.

OFGS! We already KNEW Dillard is a con man. But there's no evidence of his being psychic. How his fabricated story would match the physical evidence is just amazing!!

Anyone have a definitive report from a credible source as to the nature and extent of the injuries of Simpson's current punching bag?

Is it possible she fell at the gas station, hit her head, got up and fell and hit her arm, say, and got up and fell and hit her cheek, I'm guessing but you get the idea? It's a little like Kathleen Peterson's "fall" down the stairs.

It's your lack of sleep, bambam. You get crazy after a while with insomnia. I've been there and done that. You really need to see your doctor, I think.

It must be a generational thing, Mitch. That was my generation; I could relate. Also, I love Kevin Kline.
The Big Chill was big; it defined a generation, a decade or so out of college.
Kind of like The Graduate. Defining the angst of a generation during college, facing real life.

I guess you had to be there.

Hi everyone! Made it just in time. Haven't read all the way through yet, but would like to offer condolences to SG, a get well wish to everyone under the weather, and a happy anniversary to KellBell and hubby.

My prayers are with Julie's family and with Mr. Jambois. May this remarkable and dedicated prosecutor deliver the closing argument of his life; may the jurors be guided by His hand in making the proper decision; and may justice for Julie and her family finally be served.

Here is my guess:
IS is not starting another trial this week and so have decided to go for wall to wall verdict watch in Elkhorn.
Hence they sent Ashleigh out there to be with Jean and cover the layperson's end of it. And then they will gather a clutch of THs to natter and bloviate what every twitch and cough from the jurors means.

They are anticipating a long delib, perhaps?

Judge is asking the lawyers for their timing and the technicalities-- Do they want a break.

"What I don't want" he says" is for you to talk for 2 hrs straight b/c I just couldn't stand it." chuckle. Court reporter and jury need breaks, he says.

Gotta go fetch my guess as to how the day will go.

Judge allowing Jambois to call his own break unless the bailiff indicates one of the jurors must take a break.

I'm thinking Ma and Pa Jensen aren't going to show up for the Prosecution's CA, but they'll appear for Albee's.

I imagine it's sort of a statement, by them to the effect that it's a waste of their time to listen to the collection of falsehoods that Mr. Jambois will present in his CA.

Again, I think this is a bad call by the Jensen clan.

Here's my guess: JI 9:00-10:30
break
Prosecution first go: 10:45- 12:15/30
LUNCH
Defense 1:15-3:00
Pros. rebuttal 3:00-3:45

Jury gets the case before 4 pm. They are going to deliberate later than 5 he told them. Not enough time to come back with a verdict. Earliest would be Tuesday.
