I have my annual ear/throat infection and I can't see the doctor until tomorrow. There is always go to urgent care, pay an extra $100 to sit there for 3-4 hours so they can tell me I have an ear infection and I need anti-biotics. Or I can wait until tomorrow, save the $100 so I can sit there 15 min so they can tell me I have an ear infection and I need anti biotics. Thing is, I live 3200 ft. above sea level, I am at work right now. So when I go home, it hurts, when I come back down to go to work/doctor tomorrow it hurts, feels like my head is going to pop. I'm thinkin' if I just cut off my head it would solve all these issues, hmmmm. :1187603408.CR.Mothe So frustrated!!

Could you possibly get your hands on any ear drops that have peroxide in them? They may help. I have fluid in my ears always, and they help a ton when the pressure gets bad.

Sorry you are feeling icky.

I think cutting off your head is like pulling out a grey hair.... 2 will grow back. And well, then you'd just look funny and next year you'd feel doubly worse since you'd have 4 ears to be infected.

LOL

Prolly right, but sure seem like a good idea some days, ya know. It hurts all the way to my teeth and down my neck. I get it every year, think it is because of the difference in temp and elevation from work to home. :girl_sad:

It's safe. You can get ear drops with alcohol in them, or ones with peroxide in them. Read the label, it will say. It has helped me more times than I can count. I always have some in my medicine cabinet! It's kinda cool, sometimes I can hear it bubbling up in my ear. It makes me laugh. Of course I'm easily amused. :girl_haha:

I've lightly dipped my clean Q-Tip in peroxide. It bubbles a little in your ear.

My grandma use to use rubbing alcohol as well. (but it doesn't bubble and feel good)

Peroxide is good for any kind of infection, IMO. You can see the infection bubbling out of a cut, or a scatch, and it doesn't burn at all.

Thanks guys, I googled it and sounds like a common use for peroxide. Dr.s don't want to tell you about it cause they want you to come in and pay for your visit. I will try it tonight. Thanks again.

There are plenty of simple & inexpensive fixes for different ailments. The doctors & pharmaceutical companies don't want us to know because they will lose money. A sad statement when money is more important than people's well-being.

Good luck with the peroxide, I bet it helps! Let us know tomorrow!!!

Better to find out why you get these all the time.

I hope your ear infection is better today. I also get them every year and have spent so much $$ on prescription meds. Finally my elderly neighbor lady told me to mix alcohol and peroxide 1/2 & 1/2 and to drop a few drops in each ear. The peroxide is for the infection and the alcohol has a drying affect.

I do this now whenever I feel an ear infection coming on, and I use it weekly during the summer when I spend so much time in the water.

Hi Panda and all!

Thanks eveyone. I had forgotten I posted this thread. I am doing much better, glad I didn't cut off my head after all...:francis: My friend Vicki now has it though, I feel so bad cause I am pretty sure I gave it to her not yet knowing I had it. We partied together the night before I felt any symptoms. I asked my doctor about the peroxide in the ear. She said "Don't be putting anything in your ears or I will be seeing you back in here." I still believe you guys more though, doctors have all kinds of reasons not to want you to self medicate, one being money.
