I don't think the juror that was sending the notes to the judge is the hold out. I think they are having the foreman do all the writing of requests. I didn't read anything into the fact that it was all coming from one person.

Good morning all:basic45:

I literally passed out last night at about 5:00 with the computer still running. I vaguely heard the judge say the jury wanted to stop at 7:00 and return at
8:30 this morning.

Was there in change after that?

Yep. Around 6 the jury sent Judge a note saying they wanted to quit at 7 and get an 8:30 start this morning. He also said the note said they were making progress.

Hopefully, the prrogress means they are all in agreement with all the evidence they have previously discussed!!

Yes, of course, you are right, KB and good morning!
The foreperson is the designated writer of notes for the group but that is not to say that any other juror could not send a note to the judge. S/he could, although they may or may not realize that.

OTOH, I recall that juror #9 said after the Spector mistrial that when the foreman, the infamous #10, refused to allow them a vote for the THIRD DAY he said, "We vote or I am going to the judge."

That's where he made his mistake. First off, after the group expressed a majority desire to have a strawpoll and the foreman refused, THAT was when the revolt should have happened.

But given the three day no vote scenario, that's when a note to Judge Fidler: Your honor, the jury foreman is an asshat dictator and won't allow us to take a strawpoll for three days now....Do you not think ALARM BELLS would have gone off??...Fidler would have polled the jury separately with the lawyers present. Each juror alone in chambers with Fidler and the attorneys and then free to tell the judge how it was going. And then it could have been fixed. The jurors could have known that they could have REPLACED #10. Demoted him a la the Peterson jury who got rid of their asshat foreman. And they could have come to a verdict. The woman who waffled would have gone with the majority. Oh, wishful thinking!!

Yes, we are all hopeful of a verdict this morning which would definitely suit my schedule. In addition the good thing is that if it happens during the minuscule IS courttime sched, that would be a good thing. LIVE verdict is more interesting. And they will bring in everybody left on their roster to comment. Boy, I miss the good old days. I think they gave up on the gavel-to-gavel coverage much too soon.

I normally feel for the families of the suspect; but in this case; we had old mom on the phone being part of the plan to sit on Klug; though I don't know how much she knew about it. Oh; and how rich she would be after she wrote a book.

I hadn't even thought about how MJ or his family will react when the verdict comes in. I have just been concerned about justice for Julie and making sure MJ never sees the light of day again. But your posts got me thinking.

Will we see that smirk wiped off MJ's face?
Will he cry?
Will he show no emotion at all?
Will Kelly Jensen be there?
Will Laura Koster be there?
Will David Jensen be there?
Will Ma and Pa Jensen act immature?
Will Ma and Pa talk to the media?
Will the jurors talk to the media?

So many questions I hope will be answered this morning. Crossing my fingers that it is before noon. I can't wait to hear Jean report on the jurys appearance when they arrive, I am hoping they are dressed for a verdict.

Yep. I can't believe how she carried herself during this trial. And look at what all Mark did to demean that family. Allowing his father's past to be brought to public, his wife Kelly, Julie's family slashed and diced, his sister to be made to look foolish, and his children have to live with all this mess the rest of their life. I wonder how she will whitewash all of that if she writes a book! How will she portray Kelly.

All Mark cares about is Mark.

As a registered engineer in 3 states, my 40-odd year experience working with engineers and techs has resulted in this opinion:

engineering tech is to engineer as apprentice is to journeyman, and more recently:

trash collector is to sanitary engineer as Dr. Rumack is to truthful witness

My point is one size fits all does not apply to everyone who has ''engineer'',
or a derivative thereof in their job description.

Thank goodness Coldwater is not the moderator here, or this would be my last

As a registered engineer in 3 states, my 40-odd year experience working with engineers and techs has resulted in this opinion:

engineering tech is to engineer as apprentice is to journeyman, and more recently:

trash collector is to sanitary engineer as Dr. Rumack is to truthful witness

My point is one size fits all does not apply to everyone who has ''engineer'',
or a derivative thereof in their job description.

Thank goodness Coldwater is not the moderator here, or this would be my last
posting!

Well we certainly won't complain about your posts here! I love this place.

I have known many engineers and I agree that no engineer is the same. Just as no lawyer is the same or no doctor is the same.

The engineers I have known are very rational wonderful people.

So, Jon, can you explain to me what I have wondered and asked for days now. WHAT IS AN ENGINEERING TECH??

And question for anyone who has been in the courtroom--- From which direction does the jury come and go into court? Is there a door near the box?

TWENTY FOUR HOURS even DELIBERATION?

I thought I saw a door near the chairs last nite when the camerman was playing around and showed us those comfortable seats. But I don't know if it was a door that it's the one they use. The camera either stays on defense table or pans to clock when they come and go from courtroom.

Yeah, I agree about rational people. I have engineers in my family too. I think with the two jurors who are in that field in the other trials and caused a hung jury, it was how they analyzed they evidence that was frustrating.

Susan Karaskiewicz is talking to Vinnie and Lisa.

Yes, this case got better with time although she was no longer on it when Klug stepped forward. The inmates too. This case did get a lot better in the past year.

She took the blame for their misinterpreting Chris Long's tox report of the "large" amt of EG in JJ's stomach when it was really half a teaspoon. But as she said, you shouldn't have ANY!!

So it was Long's report that tripped the wire for charging. "But we saw the engagement announcement for Mark and Kelly! We really feared for KLB."

She talks about how in retrospect the first one is no longer "accidental" -- Lynn Turner comes up. But we can mention others: Barbara Stager, Michael Peterson, Tim Boczkowski, Stella Nichol and those black widows with multiple victims and their names are escaping me now...

Good morning! I sure hope today is THE day. Trying not to get too excited yet. My luck they'll come back while I'm at a co-worker's birthday lunch. :lex_10:

Do you want me to call you? Do I have your cell #? PM me when you leave and if the verdict comes in I'll give ya a ring!

Is anyone else having trouble getting the pages to load today? I hope it's not my weather. We already got round 1 of the snow and ice and expect TWO more rounds today. So I'm here for now but if I disappear you'll know where I went...

From the emails an exam of KLB. She is asked is one of them is saying to her("Time, patience and figure it out") with some patience he can figure out a way for you two to be together?
KLB: (pause, shaking her head) I dunno. I think it's just "time, patience and figure it out for a time to get together but not necessarily be together. Well, yes, be together, yes."

Wow!! I hope that made a big impression on the jury. How she wanted to avoid the obvious conclusion from that email because it is so incriminating. And ultimately she had to admit to it.

Mornin tbrito, thanks for all your little notes last night. Would you believe my dad is still in the ER. The hospital is shortstaffed so instead of saying they don't have enough nurses to put him in a room yet, they just say they haven't been able to get a room yet. It's ridiculous.

Anyway, they know he has a UTI and they will do further testing today to determine about the stroke.

I'm married to an engineer and I could see how he could hang a jury over something trivial, but when it comes to a victim not receiving justice and knowing how he feels about stories on the tv, I can't see him not doing the right thing. I really think it depends on their values as well as their personality.

I agree about doing the right thing, my one BIL would just analyze everything, trying to find an answer or explaination, sometimes there are no easy answers, and one needs to use common sense. Thinking of Spector now.

Good morning! I am HAPPY to see clock.... better than yesterday when there wasn't clock in the morning. I started my day to a dead car battery, so I had to call in the MIL to bail us out and give her a ride, and then call the DH to walk me through hooking up the battery charger. What would I do without a telephone?

Well, today has to be the day.... right? Keep the faith, and now I'm off to read up on the excitement I've missed so far this morning.

Deputy dumped a paraplegic out of his wheel chair and then they showed a woman in court being pulled out of her chair and thrown on the floor. It boggles the mind that these people are there to protect us and look what happens when they let crazies on the police force and sheriff's department.
