Boy this one is full of affairs. A love triangles murder. I can't believe Ignacio Garraus refused to help support his adn Shawna's child! That sucked. But, it isn't cause to kill his wife.

Heather Garraus sat on her knees with her arms raised as a masked assailant shot her point-blank in the head twice, said witness Melinda Maeder Thursday in the Shawna Nelson’s murder trial.

Maeder choked back tears as she recalled the night of Jan. 23, 2007, when she watched Garraus die four feet away from her in the parking lot of Credit Union of Colorado, formerly Colorado State Employee’s Credit Union in Greeley.
Maeder, who worked with Garraus at the credit union, described the shooter as average height weighing around 160 to 200 pounds and wearing a “Halloween costume.”

“I saw a weapon pointed at Heather as she was getting down on the ground,” said Maeder looking as if she were sick as she recalled the memory in court.

“They were dressed in all black and told her to get on ground, then she was shot.”

Maeder was one of four witnesses present the night of the shooting who testified to what they witnessed.

During opening statements Thursday afternoon, the prosecution said Nelson shot Garraus twice in the head because she was jealous Garraus’ husband, Ignacio Garraus, would not leave his wife.

My friend believes it is the same crime and that her former co-worker adopted the child the defendant had from her affair with the LE officer.

Yes, I live south of Denver. I want to attend the trial, but it is about 100 miles north of where I live. I would have to arrange to stay overnight.

I'm trying to get my friend to go with me. She isn't the trial addict that I am. IF, she knows one of the victim's family, she might have more interest.

I started to attempt watching the CNN's clip on some of the jurors thoughts but my feed stunk. I'm going to try and watch it today when I get a moment. Personally, I think it was by the grace of God the guilty verdict came down. I know somep people are very impressed with the jorors, but from what I could see, it was a scary group.

I believe they only got permission yesterday to do the live stream on the Fox site. That is how I am understanding it. The courts only agreed yesterday to allow the live feed for Fox.

yest the utube videos were great! as I posted lated on the boards last night, I went to utube and just pretended to be "in the moment". I was so impressed with the jury. The did everything I imagined them to do and more and reached the only verdict I thought possible. Yeah for SLSmith! She's my other hero in all this.
