-IT'S been another long agonising week for tormented rock star Amy Winehouse. With husband Blake in jail accused of trial fixing, her UK tour cancelled and a constant battle with drugs and booze, the tragic supertalent has been pictured day after day falling apart for the whole world to see.

-ONE night she's found wandering London's frozen East End in a daze, dressed only in bra and jeans, the next she's cadging cigarettes on the street like a tramp. All that plus a late-night visit from junkie Pete Doherty and snaps of her with white powder up her nose have only fuelled the distress for Amy's mother Janis.

-NOW in the News of the World she writes her daughter a moving open letter, pleading with 24-year-old Amy to come home and get well again. For the first time ever, Janis pours her heart out and reveals her deepest fears for Amy's safety...

It's sad with all her talent she is throwing it away.

I think Amy is outrageously talented. She's also superly messed up. I always think of Amy in terms of Janis Joplin. And now her mom is named "Janis"? Freaky! Whatever, I hope Amy's around for a long time.

I think she really needs to dump her husband. Hopefully the time he is in jail, maybe he will embrace being sober and want to change, hopefully.

It is sad to say but I don't think she is going to make it through this...she seems very far gone. I pray for her and her family that she is able to get some help before it's to late.

I don't know her story, but I've never seen a decent shot of her preforming live or anything like that... she always looks gone and nasty. :sad0119:

The adults used to say to me, and it reminds me of Amy : There was a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forhead (sp). When she was good, she was very good, but when she was bad, she was horrid.

That letter was so sad.
She needs intense help quick.
It is time for Amy to stop saying NO NO NO!

She has some amazing talent, but if she doesn't make some major changes in her live SOON, she'll be a goner, I'm afraid.

Increasingly erratic soul singer Amy Winehouse was arrested Tuesday in London in connection with an alleged $400,000 plot to fix her husband's assault trial, reports said.

British media reported the beehive-coiffed, tattoo-sporting singer arrived at Shoreditch police station in east London to be formally booked on a charge of perverting justice.

As if it wasn't already strang enough.

Gangsters Threaten to Kidnap Amy Winehouse

According to PageSix.com, sources say career criminals who are in prison with the singer's hubby Blake Fielder-Civil are strong-arming the tattooed heroin addict to shell out $100,000 or say GOODBYE to his other half.

Amy's prison visits restricted after husband 'fails drug test'

Amy Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil has allegedly tested positive for drugs while in prison.

Now she will only be able to see him from behind a glass screen instead of the "no strings" visits previously allowed.

Fielder-Civil, 25, is being held in Pentonville as he awaits trial for assault and trial-fixing allegations.

Well if she's brought to trial for attempting to bribe a jury she might stop drinking. It would be hard for her to drink much in jail because she'll be watched. Some alcoholics even start attending AA in jail because their heads start to clear up. Enforced abstinence could be a start, but the alcoholic has to want sobriety in the long run. I hope Amy gets sober.
