This was new news to me, Dated March 2008

Guardianship hearing for Julie’s youngest son. A temporary guardian is appointed to determine his best interest between Kelly or Paul and Jill Griffin. Griffins file affidavit to communicate with Julie’s sons.

As the Griffin brothers are working on the efforts of guardianship for Douglas, let us implore St. Joseph, Foster father of Jesus for his help.

This trial really affected me, can't get those boys off my mind.

From the little bit we saw...it looked like David inherited Julie's gentle spirit. I think he wants to love Mark the same way Julie did. But...he's getting older and more on his own. I really think he'll see through all this...hard as it will be.

I worry about Douglas.

I pray for these boys.

It looks like they had to pay Laura M to come to court to explain about her brother on the jury. yeah i hope they at least get to see douglas & be able to get to know him.
david is old enough to decide for himself & i hope he decides he wants to see them. i hope douglas wants to too.

me too & me either. i cant get julie out of my mind either. it was so very sad what happened to her. i cant believe her very own husband would do that stuff to her & her boys. its a good thing that i'll never meet mark. i am so angry at what he did to all of them. i really feel like knew julie. if i would of, then she would still be alive & mark would of been somewhere else.

me too & me either. i cant get julie out of my mind either. it was so very sad what happened to her. i cant believe her very own husband would do that stuff to her & her boys. its a good thing that i'll never meet mark. i am so angry at what he did to all of them. i really feel like knew julie. if i would of, then would still be alive & mark would of been somewhere else.

I feel the same way about this case. After reading more on the Griffin's site I see that Julie was trying to get away from Mark & was trying to firm up a place to go to in Illinois. From Therese DeFazio's testimony on August 30, it appears that Julie was firming up a place to go to in Illinois because she felt like Mark could still get to them if she went to her relatives or a shelter. How terribly sad that she ran out of time. I didn't know this information before now.

I'm glad Paul & Jill Griffin are taking legal action to be able to have contact with Douglas & trying to get guardianship of him. I just can't help but think that Kelly knew that Mark killed Julie, whether before or after the fact. For Mark & Kelly to tell those boys that their mother killed herself is criminal in itself, IMO. I hope the court rules that Douglas will be better off with the Griffins. I know he has a younger brother but I don't see how he will be better off with Kelly, especially when he finds out her part in the whole tragedy.

I get choked up just thinking about the pain inflicted on David & Douglas by Mark & Kelly. I hope there is some way for those boys to know how many people care about them & are praying for them. :1222423: :1222423: :1222423:

I thought the same way, that Douglas might be better off staying in the same family unit, for quite a while but I'm leaning towards thinking Douglas might be better off with the Griffins. I can't really explain why I feel differently now. It's just one of those gut feel things.

Of course, I have no personal knowledge of how the Jensen household is run & what things are like. Hopefully the court appointed temporary guardian will make the right recommendation for Douglas. All I can do is keep those boys in my prayers. I feel for Andrew too. He's another victim in this whole tragedy.

I know his son. Doug Jensen. He is in my class. Now after hearing this, I know why Doug is so quiet in class. Doug hardly ever talks. I feel soo bad for him. I always look at him now. I see sadness in his face.

I was trying to find a way to report him. I know it's possible as I hear everyday Youtube going after things like this. I will go to the Jerk's page and see if it's there I can do it...

i received an email from patrick griffin while the trial was still going on & i just received another one from him today giving me some updates.
below is the email i got from him today. he seems so nice.

First I want to say thank you sincerely for all the wonderful emails and comments of love, encouragement and support. We truly found we were not alone in all of this. Although we didn't have time to answer every email, I can assure that every comment and every email was read by every Griffin brother! I plan myself to get back with many people.

Our sister Julie's murder trial "Wisconsin vs. Mark Jensen" is finally over!

Her husband Mark was found GUILTY by a jury and will be spending the rest of his years behind bars. Although this is a favorable outcome, it will not bring our sister Julie back and will also leave her sons without a parent. Her sons are now being raised by Mark's new wife and there is a current dispute over guardianship of the youngest. Fortunately, we have gotten progress reports that Julie's sons are both doing good in school and are involved with sports, music and church.

Someone has posted much of the trial on youtube and our tribute website will eventually house some of it so people who were not able to watch the trial can get a taste of what went on.

The CD composed as a family tribute to Julie VOICES FROM BEYOND is finally finished and being sold thru CDbaby and iTunes. Visit the website oursisterjulie.com for direct links. A portion of the proceeds will go towards a yet-to-be-determined domestic abuse charity, so please show your support. Also, for those who favor music downloads, there is a pdf of the album liner notes you're welcome to download for free that expains the inspiration behind each tune.

We can only hope that the sound judgments made by Judge Schroeder will stand the test of time. We have already heard that the case will be filed for appeal. Also, people are anxiously awaiting the case of "Giles vs. California" which is going to the US Supreme Court next month. The Giles case contains 'death threat statements to police' in it which could possibly affect some rulings in Julie's case.

CBS 48 Hours Mystery is doing an in-depth show on our case coming soon on Saturday, April 19th. The 48 hour crew were involved from day one even at the forfeiture hearing in July 2007 and we have spent much time with them doing many interviews.

I want to give thanks for everyone who has expressed their support thru this difficult time. Hopefully, with closure of this 10-year legal ordeal, the normal process and grieving and healing can begin to run its course. I can finally say there was "Justice for Julie" and her spirit can be at rest!

I'm so happy I decided to drop in.... it is nice to hear all these updates... and I'm really glad that I won't miss the 48 hours show as I missed the 20/20 show.
