LEE COUNTY: Deputies have found a body in the home of a North Fort Myers man who has been missing for about a week. Deputies say they consider the man's disappearance suspicious.

Crime tape surrounds Raymond Antonucci's home at 17601 Williamsburg Drive and K-9 units from a private non-profit group were searching the area for clues Monday.

Inside his home, deputies found blood spatters near his bed, a tarp on the floor and what they describe as a foul odor. The room was in complete disarray.

Deputies say they also found a body inside the home. But that body is so decomposed, a positive identification will have to be made through an autopsy in which fingerprints, dental records, and possibly DNA can be used.

Deputies say the autopsy will also help determine how the person died - whether it was of natural causes or not. That autopsy should happen Tuesday.

Jamie Arnez, Antonucci’s business partner, reported him missing after finding the front door open and the home a mess.

"I just hope they get to the bottom of whatever’s going on here," said Arnez.

Antonucci breeds terriers. Thirty five or so were removed from the home and will go to friends and a veterinarian in Miami.

Another of Antonucci’s friends says he would never leave the dogs alone.

If you have any information on Antonucci’s whereabouts, contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (239)477-1000.

LEE COUNTY: The Lee County Medical Examiner is performing an autopsy on the body found Monday night inside the North Fort Myers home of a missing man.

Raymond Antonucci hasn't been seen in a week, but at this point investigators don't know if the body is his.

Antonucci's business partner went to check on him on Monday and found his dogs without food and water. Friends say Antonucci, who is a dog breeder, would not leave the animals alone.

Deputies came to check out the home and found blood splatters and a tarp on the floor of a bedroom.

Neighbors say they would often see homeless men coming and going from the house.

The body found inside Antonucci's home was so badly decomposed it could not be immediately identified.

Until the body is identified deputies say they are conducting a joint missing persons and death investigation.

We have a crew following this story so please watch out evening newscast for the latest information.

Have you seen this man?

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Lee County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to find a "person of interest" in a death investigation in North Fort Myers.

Investigators want to talk to the person described as a tall, white male, with a thin build, in his late 30's to early 40's. He is believed to be a transient and is known to wear glasses from time to time.

A badly decomposed body was found inside the Williamsburg Drive home of Vincent Raymond Antonucci Monday afternoon.

Antonucci was reported missing on that same day by his business partner after he found the man's 25 Yorkshire Terriers home alone and it appeared they had not been fed or given water in a few days.

This would be extremely unusual for Antonucci who raises and breeds the dogs. Neighbors tell WINK News his dogs were his pride and joy.

When investigators arrived at the home, they found blood smears and splatters on the bedroom wall and on the headboard. The body was also reportedly found inside the home.

We are waiting on autopsy results to find out how that person died and to tell us who it is. Right now, investigators are not saying whether they think it is Antonucci until the positive identification comes back.

Investigators on the scene tell us crime scene investigators will most likely return to the home on Wednesday to complete their investigation.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.

LEE COUNTY: The body fund inside a North Fort Myers home has been identified as missing dog breeder Raymond Antonucci.

The Lee County Medical Examiner was able to identify the body after conducting an autopsy.

Deputies aren't saying how Antonucci was killed, but his death is classified as "suspicious."

Antonucci was reported missing Monday by his business partner, but he hadn't been seen in more than a week.

When deputies searched his home they found blood splatters and a tarp on the floor of a bedroom. A few hours later they discovered Antonucci's body.

Neighbors say they would often see homeless men coming and going from the house. Deputies say the most recent person in the home had a record.

Late Tuesday afternoon, authorities released two sketches of a man described as a "person of interest" in the case. He was seen at Antonucci's house shortly before the 62-year-old was reported missing.

The man is described as in his late 30's or early 40's, believed to be transient and is known to wear glasses on occasion. He's tall and thin, with light brown to dirty blonde hair.

If you know anything about this case or recognize the man in the sketches you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.

NORTH FORT MYERS: Deputies have identified the 'person of interest' wanted for questioning in the murder of North Fort Myers dog breeder Raymond Antonucci as a recently-released convict.

Richard F. Baker, 40, is homeless, and investigators do not know where he is - though they say he may be riding a blue mountain bike.

Baker is described at a white male, 6'2" tall, 160 lbs., with blonde hair the last time he was seen. He is also often known to wear glasses.

Deputies say he has an extensive criminal record - and was only released from prison on March 1st. His past convictions include Grand Theft Auto and Dealing in Stolen Property.

"I think we have to consider somebody as a person of interest in a homicide investigation. It's a pretty safe bet to assume he may well be dangerous," said Tony Schall, who works for the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

Antonucci was reported missing Sunday after friends and associates didn't see him for about a week.

When investigators went into his Williamsburg Avenue home Monday, they found blood spatters near his bed, a tarp on the floor and what they describe as a foul odor.

A search of the home turned up a body later identified as Antonucci.

Neighbors say they would often see homeless men coming and going from the house. Deputies say the most recent person in the home had a record.

If you know anything about this case or the whereabouts of Baker, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.

I'm glad they've identified a suspect, but if he's homeless, they may have a hard time finding him.

If there's a reward, though, and posters are put up where the homeless hang out, someone may turn him in for the money.
