State patrol issues alert for girl, uncle

A 13-year-old girl from Warsaw, Mo., is missing today and believed to be with her 21-year-old uncle, who is on parole for assault and burglary and considered by police consider to be violent.

Savannah Haggerman’s mother reported she last saw her daughter at 1:30 a.m. at the family’s home, according to information from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Benton County Sheriff’s Department.

The pair’s direction of travel is unknown. The Highway Patrol described Justin Haggerman as driving a light-blue 1989 Ford Tempo with a Missouri license plate number 4CE59F. Savannah is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding the missing girl is asked to alert the nearest law enforcement agency or call the Benton County Sheriff's Department at (660) 438-5252.

Warsaw is about 70 miles southwest of Columbia and adjacent to Harry S. Truman State Park.

I think you have to be at least 14 on myspace, but I'm not sure... that'd explain the discrepancy... any mention of drug use? missouri is still in the heart of methland USA. I'ts not funny at all, but when I lived in Iowa we used to joke that all Missouri folk were inbred and their family trees looked like phone poles. Missouri Authorities Obtain Warrant to Arrest Man on Sex-Related Charges

Missouri authorities have obtained a warrant for the arrest of a convicted felon whom they believe took off with his 13-year-old niece without her mother's permission early Tuesday morning.

Neither has been seen since.

"We've got a missing 13-year-old girl named Savannah Haggerman," Jim Hahn, chief deputy for the Benton County Sheriff's Office, told ABC News. "She is believed to be in the company of Justin Haggerman, her 21-year-old uncle, without her parents' permission."

The girl's mother reported her missing to police early Tuesday morning after an incident in Warsaw, Mo., according to the sheriff's office. An investigation by the state's department of family services involving Justin Haggerman had reportedly been opened on Sunday.

Haggerman is currently on parole in Missouri in connection with burglary and assault convictions and authorities consider him violent, even though they say Savannah Haggerman likely left with him on her own accord.

"I don't see that she's going to be physically hurt, but you never know," Hahn told ABC News. "If he gets backed into a corner, maybe, I've seen this before."

The Missouri State Highway Patrol joined the Benton County Sheriff's Office Tuesday in searching for the pair. Sgt. Keverne McCollum, a highway patrol spokesman in the missing persons unit, said that they alerted authorities in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio about the pair.

"There was some talk among friends that they might head to Iowa or Ohio," McCollum told ABC News, adding that the sheriff's office had received numerous tips since the endangered person alert was issued Tuesday.

The hunt for the pair intensified when the Benton County Sheriff's Office obtained a warrant from prosecutors for Justin Haggerman's arrest on charges of statutory rape and sex with a minor under the age of 14.

Evelyn Haggerman, Justin's grandmother, said she did not know where the two were. "She's been talking to him for a while," Evelyn Haggerman told ABC News. "She said she wanted to get away and called him and said she wanted him to get her."

Evelyn Haggerman said that under the terms of her grandson's parole, he was not allowed to be with her or any other children. She also said that Savannah's father is in jail and that her mother does not have a phone. ABC News could not find a listing for Savannah Haggerman's mother.

Between 7:00PM and 12:00Am on Monday Justin was at his Grandmothers in Versailles waiting for a phone call. - Verified by family member who physically seen him at the house, but won't come forward out of fear.

Savannah's Father is in prison for Raping her 14 year old friend.

Savannah and her sister had previously been in foster care because neither parent was stable enough to care for them.

Justin has a history of molestation, but because he was a minor it is in a sealed record.

I was jsut checking to see if she was found safe yet. I live in Missouri and have heard nothing on this case. I am glad to see Concernedcousin posting with us and giving us soem more info on the case. I will continue to pray for a safe return..

My mom talked to an Aunt who said they have no money and nowhere to go. My theory, they are held up in Grandma's basement. Why do I think this? She has lied for her son and his boys for years and I gurantee she is doing it now.

Everyone in the family knows that Justin is not to have contact with minors. She knew. I have been told it was against his probation to leave the county, but she knew he was going to see Savannah.

I will admit, I want revenge and am very bitter when it comes to these people. Just sick. This Justin has some SERIOUS issues. He is a menace to society and needs to be taken off the streets and rehabilitated if at all possible.

I would be checking the local pawn shops to see if Justin has been in lately. Obviously the grandmother's home should be under surveillance, and others.

C--cousin, I'm confused by the family relationships here. Could you lay out the "family tree" for me please? I guess its because the names are the same but I'm having trouble understanding.

There is Justin Hagerman (DOB 01-01-86) who is the uncle to the missing girl Savannah and has taken off with her Then there was a picture posted earlier of a Danny Hagerman, (DOB 07-10-70) that Grande thought was Justin's father but you re-identified him as being Savannah's father and Justin's brother? Is that right? But Justin's father is also named Danny? Any idea how old he is? So, Savannah's 37 year old father is the brother to 21 year old Justin? Do I have that right?

They divorced, Uncle Danny remarried and had 2 boys and 1 girl( one of the two boys being Justin)

You are supposed to be 14, but that doesn't stop many underage kids from getting an account. I checked it out using my grandson, he is 12. I signed him up in no time by using a different birthdate. Myspace puts it on there that you have to be 14, that covers them if anyone under that age joins. They have no way of knowing a child's actual age.

My friend made one for her daughter, which I believe she is only 12 or 13. But it says 36 when you look at her myspace profile and it's private. I don't know. I don't think I would let my child at that age have one? But that's just me.

new news! The FBI is starting to question family members. I viewed the website provided by Grande, and I found it interesting that the only fried she has listed is Jessica. Someone by the name of Jessica poseted that she knew were Savannah was on the Sedalia Democrate site I previously mentioned.

Another tidbit of information....Justin has 2 friends on his Myspace...I think the other one, "Kayla" might be Savannahs younger sister.

The only thing new that I am aware of is that Justin's Dad is currently in the hospital for a suicide attempt. The FBI is trying to get in contact with Justin's mother. And another cousin has the same theory I do...Grandma Evelyn knows where they are. She evidently is not helping the County, State, or Federal investigators on bit, which is no surprise either. Oh yes and the Myspace account is being monitored now.

The saddest part of the whole thing..the girl waits and hopes to be rescued..and she waits and waits and waits. I can hear the guilt being put on her. I want to cry for her. Families have a way of just laying it on so thick. If she ever escapes from it..it will take years for her to come to realize she did not bring this upon herself...How sad...It breaks my heart.

Missing Girl Believed To Be With Uncle

BENTON COUNTY, Mo. -- A Missouri girl and her uncle are missing and FBI agents said they believe the girl could be in danger.

Savannah Haggerman, 13, of Cole Camp, Mo., is believed to be traveling with Justin Cole Haggerman, her 21-year-old uncle.

Authorities have determined that even though Savannah may have left willingly, her welfare may be in danger.

Haggerman is currently charged in Benton County with first-degree statutory rape. He was recently released from jail after serving about one year for an assault and battery conviction.

Savannah is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 140 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.

Justin is described 5 feet 6 inches tall and 135 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

The two were last seen on Dec. 11 and are thought to be driving a 1989 blue Ford Tempo with Mo. license tag 4CE-59F.

Anyone with information should contact the Benton County Sheriff’s Department at 660-438-5252.

Missing Teen Safe After Homeless Hero's Tip
Uncle of Missouri Girl Arrested in SoCal Park After Transient Alerts Authorities

A homeless person living in a Southern California park can take credit for finding a missing 13-year-old Missouri girl and for the arrest of her uncle who was wanted by police more than 1,600 miles away on a rape warrant.

Police in Pomona, Calif., received a call Wednesday from a parks department employee who had been approached by an unidentified homeless person expressing concern about a young teenager living with her uncle in the park, according to Pomona police spokesman Sgt. Horace Blehr. Police declined to identify the tipster.

The police found Justin Haggerman, 21, and his niece, 13-year-old Savannah Haggerman. Police checked their identities and discovered that Haggerman was wanted in Missouri on rape and parole violation warrants as well as a possible kidnap charge involving the teenager, Blehr told ABC News.

Haggerman was arrested on the outstanding warrants and is being held without bail in California pending extradition to Missouri.

The girl was placed by the California Department of Child Services into custody and authorities in Missouri were notified, Blehr said.

"Anyone can help out in the case of child welfare," Blehr said. "This is pretty observant of the transient. It speaks to this particular person's outlook for other people."

On Dec. 11, the pair took off together after an incident in Warsaw, Mo., according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office. The previous Sunday, an investigation involving Haggerman had been opened by the state's department of family services.

Haggerman's flight violated a parole warrant tied to previous burglary and assault convictions. While authorities thought Savannah may have left on her own accord, they also considered her uncle to be "violent."

The day after the two disappeared, the Benton County Sheriff's Office obtained an additional warrant from prosecutors for Haggerman's arrest on a statutory rape charge.

The FBI and Missouri State Highway Patrol both joined in the investigation to help investigate early rumors that the pair may have been heading out of state to Ohio or Iowa.

Heather Elder, the state police juvenile and missing persons liaison, said tips from the public are vital in solving cases.

"This just shows that if you see a situation and your gut tells you something might be wrong," she said, "maybe it will be nothing, but in this case it turned out to be a big something and now there's a 13-year-old on her way home."
