When Russell Colvin disappeared from Manchester, Vermont, in 1812, suspicion of foul play understandably fell upon his brothers-in-law, Jesse and Stephen Boorn, who had worked with him on their father's farm. The Boorn brothers had made no secret of their disdain for their sister's spouse.
