I hope they can do DNA testing and get a profile of the victim. This is sad.

Is this anywhere close to Lisa Stebic or Stacy Peterson?

This is right next to Bolingbrook...but IMO it is not Stacy. Drew knows exactly where she is and he knows she will never be found.

This is about 9 miles from Bolingbrook and about 16 miles from Plainfield, where Lisa was last seen.

The article said they do not think it's someone from any high profile case. How the heck would they know so soon. Although something was said to the effect that maybe the remains were there for at least a year.

I agree Packy...that struck me as odd, as well.
I did think of Lee Cutler, though.

Lemont is about 42 miles South of Buffalo Grove.
But Lee's vehicle was found in Wisconsin...
We all know anything is possible though.

I hate it when they do that until I start thinking that maybe LE is being cryptic to scare the poop outa Drew and Craig.

STNG Wire
LEMONT TOWNSHIP-- A collection of bones found by a young man walking in a forest preserve near Lemont Wednesday afternoon have been determined to be human by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
At about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Cook County Forest Preserve police were notified that a young man walking in Black Partridge Woods, just off Bluff Road in Lemont Township, found the bones -- some partially covered by dirt, others on the surface, according to a release from the district.
Police responded to the scene and were directed to the remains, which included about a dozen bones from the feet and other, larger bones, the release said. Police could not immediately identify what body parts the larger bones came from.
The bones are human, but the person’s gender and approximate age remain unknown, a spokesperson for the medical examiner’s office said Thursday afternoon. He said the bones could have been at the site for “years.”
Forest District police spokesman Steve Mayberry stressed there is "no reason to believe" the remains are related to any current, high-profile missing persons case, such as Lisa Stebic or Stacy Peterson.
Forest Preserve police and the Cook County Sheriff’s police continue to investigate.

I despise the term 'high profile'...I wish it was never used in reference to missing persons. Pisses me off. Like some missing persons are more important than others........grrrrrrrrrrr.

I agree it does make it seem that some cases are not important. It could be they didn't want to be swamped with inquiries about the Stebic or Peterson cases, so they said it that way for now. But nevertheless it still causes reactions like you and many of us might have.
You would think they could release the gender by now.

The poster said to go back where they used to keep lions (wonder what that was about), and then said there may be two more as it was a dumping ground.

He was probably just surmising that bodies was dumped where lions were for easy disposal. Food.
