Man's body found on Willamette River island near Oregon City

An unidentified man was found dead today on a Willamette River island just south of Oregon City.
Two men fishing found the body about 5 p.m. in heavy brush, said Detective Jim Strovink, a Clackamas County Sheriff's Office spokesman. It apparently had not been there long.
"We don't know if he died of exposure, if he's a transient," Strovink said. "We just don't know at this time."
There were no obvious signs of foul play, he said, and there was a campfire on the isolated island where the body was found.
An investigation was under way. No further details were available.
