JACKSON, Miss. -- Jackson police need your help in finding a 58-year-old man, who was last seen Sunday.

Frank Damico was driving a light blue 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis with a Hinds County tag number 729-DD.

Police describe Damico as a white male standing about 5 feet 7 inches and weighing 155 pounds. He has grayish white hair and blue eyes.

Circumstances have led his family to believe that Damico may have disappeared as a result of foul play.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Frank Damico, call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS or the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1234.

Another body was discovered on the side of a rural road Tuesday afternoon in Holmes County.

Jackson Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jeffery Scott said investigators have been sent to the county.

"Right now, we are investigating a possible report of a missing person from the Jackson area. Until we have dental records to support our investigation, I will not be able to elaborate," he said.

Durant Police Chief Jerry Bankhead said authorities are trying to determine if the body is that of Frank Damico, 58, whose stolen sedan was found in the possession of a robbery and aggravated assault suspect.
Relatives of Damico reported him missing to Jackson police during the first week of April, Scott said.

On April 9, Christopher Harrell, 20, was arrested at his Durant home for allegedly robbing and shooting two people during a home invasion, Bankhead said.

During the investigation, Durant and Holmes County detectives discovered Damico's car behind a church, not far from where authorities found the body, Bankhead said.

Holmes County Coroner Dexter Howard said the body has been sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.

DNA May Identify Body Found In Holmes County

HOLMES, CO., Miss. -- Holmes County sheriff’s deputies said they believe they know the identity of a body found Tuesday, but they won't say who it is until an autopsy and DNA testing are conducted.

The Durant Police Department said officers recovered a light blue Mercury Marquis in rural Holmes County that may be related to the case.

Police have confirmed it's the car that was driven by 58-year-old Frank Damico. He was reported missing from Jackson earlier this month.

Police have arrested a man and charged him with committing auto theft and robbery.

Police said the man may be connected to the body that was found in Holmes County.

Durant is a tough little town. A lot of crime. I was there at 1:00am on Saturday morning two weeks ago. (my son's alternator went out) The truckstop has a cop sitting inside which seemed to be stationary. We were there a while and the cop never left.

It sounds like if there was foul play, at least they have the suspect in custody.

Stephine Lewis remembers the day she last time she saw her longtime neighbor, Frank Damico.

It was on a Sunday and Damico was preparing to take one of his friends to church. Before doing so Lewis says he gave her son two coloring books as a gift.

"He was too good, probably give you the shirt off your back," she says.

That's why Lewis is so puzzled that someone my have harmed Damico.

"I wouldn't think in a million years that anyone would want to hurt him, cause he was a good man, when I found out about him I was like on my God."

Police in the Holmes County town of Durant believe a body found there this week may be Damico's.

Durant police say the clothes found and the description of the body matches Damico.

But officials say they are still waiting on DNA results to be sure.

Police have arrested 20-year-old Christopher Harrell on unrelated charges.

Investigators say Harrell had the keys to the car Damico was driving.

For the past 17 years, Lewis has lived across the street from Damico in Jackson.

She says he was the best neighbor anyone could ask for.

"He was very friendly, and I'm gonna miss coming out my door throwing up my hand speaking to him."
