I do too, but I know the statistics for couples who lose a child is not good. Of course, their "child" was 26 at the time and I think that makes a difference.

I'd really love to know the 'back story' about the victim. This is where I really miss CTV and their coverage. Apparently the victim had turned into something of a minor hoodlum, but did he slid into that partly because of the black cloud over his head because at 17 he had a 14 YO girlfriend? or was he already on the way back then? Good Morning :mornincoffee:

I always watch channel 4 (clickondetroit.com) on tv in the morning (I love Guy Gordon) and they said more than once they will be covering the trial on live stream. I have been watching the trial on cnn.com

Also, they say that Alex is still on the stand, I thought they were done with him? I guess I am confused. He held up fairly well yesterday. I can't stand that defense lawyer, he looks familiar to me.

Seeing the victim's parents in the courtroom crying must be hard on the jury. I know it would be hard for me to be a juror in this trial. JMO

Good morning good people!!!

Well yesterday was powerful, tense and boiling. I thought Alex did well testifying both on direct and on cross. Many thought he had a dissociative affect, I disagree. I thought Alex had a control affect for the sake of testifying. He held his breath several times indicating he was reacting to what he had to tell the jury and everyone else. During the crime, he testified he did not handle what JP did very well. He testified he went to the police to tell them what happen.

What was telling to me what JP's eyes. Prior to Alex's testimony, I noticed a differential between the brown in his Iris and the black of his Iris. Yet, when Alex testified JP's eyes went black with his Iris' and pupil not differentiating. JP's eyebrows extended over his eyes too. What does this mean? IMO, the black eyes represented deadness, his dark shadow, nothing there, etc. During my professional experience working in prisons, I have seen this same eye characteristic in inmates with severe personality disorder.

When I watched the defense attorney attempt to pull different manipulation out of desperation reminds of the attorneys in the Spector Trial. Can you imagine this great Judge presiding in that trial? oh lordy mercy. That would have been something.

As always both my professional opinion and personal opinion

I don't think I can take much more of AL. His testimony and how he showed no emotion, no obvious remorse for his 'friend's' death and stared at Pros's every move made me feel really queasy. That was hard to listen too. I wonder if I'd make it through JP's testimony (if he testifies) without :puke:

Excellent summation, Carnell!! I'd felt the holding of breath was a short pause to 'remember' which version he'd told to get that plea deal. Seriously, I did. And it was fear of being charged with perjury and losing the 20 to 30 year compared to life without parole. I noticed the eyes had no real emotion in them, his voice tone showed no remorse for his actions, or for the death of DS. Actually, I haven't seen sorrow from any of these witnesses that JP is dead.

I was wondering why his forehead never really showed frowns when his replies to a few questions had a slight questioning tone, like he wasn't sure he completely understood the question.

You gave me something to think about. I'll watch the eyes more closely when court resumes.

He knew his goose was a goner. I think he went back later after the initial interview and still told partial truths. He will be sentenced the 23rd of this month, signed a plea deal last week.

Anything really interesting other than the relationship to the defendant?

Mornin Folks!

I am listening to the questioning of the juror by the judge on CNN.live. I cannot believe this juror didn't come forward in the beginning.

"He can't be impartial" per the juroro. He is being dismisssed for cause.

At first she was going to keep him, she thought he implied he could be impartial. I was concerned.

I can't say it surprises me. I had no idea who most of my co-workers were related to back before I retired. We just didn't have that much time for personal conversation.

ETA: And if I'd been related to a person like this defendant I sure as h3ll wouldn't have been admitting it to ANYBODY!

That surprises me too TP! I would think the human resources would know these people are serving on a jury and know the case they are serving on. It would seem they might inform the person of possible conflicts. Maybe it is a huge company and that isn't possible. :z0tdntknw:

And if this person is unable to listen to the testimony without bias, then it sounds like this person has more than a working relationship.

It's called "gangsta" or something like that; meaning gangster. Black shirt and white tie. My nieces use the word all the time; They say they're gangsta's; which they aren't.

try 2, are the neighborhoods that these kids live in are they good or bad do you know.

middle class nice homes ranging from $150,000 - $250,000

livonia has superior schools than westland

canton has newer homes, some priced in the $300,000

i use to live in the subdivion where the murder happened. those homes range from $180,000 - $200,000

livonia cops are top notch

the part of westland that boarders livonia (where these kids went to school) is the west end and somewhat safer. there are other parts of westland that are not very well kept where houses range from $65,000 - $100,000

hope that helps.

I never thought about Columbine, just that I like the look. I remember buying my DH a dark shirt and beautiful bright pink tie to wear together.... but it was years ago and I still like the look, but I didn't know it was still around.

Yeah, he said he went to school with the relative if JPs (Mark?) and they were friends then but he didn't see him now. So where was the conflict, maybe Mark doesn't stand behind his relative so why couldn't he be able to look him in the eye. I'd have thought the Orlewizc name would've made the juror question whether there was a relationship when he discovered what trial he would be serving on.
