Is anyone watching this?

I would love to chat about:

Ramona's BiPolar behavior, what a hot mess!

Alex and Simon's codependent relationship, good lord, I think Alex has a growth names Simon!

Alex and Simon's disaster of a house, how in the world can they act like they are high society and live in a wreck? And spend 10,000 on opening night tickets to the opera and another 10,000 on a dress etc for the occasion... wouldn't that money have been better spent remodeling? If they have that kind of money, hire someone to put a freaking floor down in your house! They have children living there for gods sake!

and anything else...

KellBell - Oh yay! Finally someone that watches this show. I love it.
Romona is my least favorite. She shops at Forever 21, way too young for her and she should listen to her daughter. Who, btw, has a cute personality IF her mom doesn't ruin her.
Jill - I like her, I don't know why exactly, but I do. I think her 14 year old daughter looks 23 though - what's up with that? And I love her gay husband, he's a hoot!
Bethany - Like her she isn't snooty, more down to earth and loves to have a good time. Plus she has a real job. Not sure about Jason (her bf) yet.
LuAnn, the dutchess - I like her, but know why yet.
Alex and Simon - I love that they are soulmates, but come on, everyone needs some 'apart' time. Your right about their house, OMG, who would have a party with that mess going on. Bethany was really taken back at the condition of the house. And to think Alex was on the best dressed list....lol
They do seem to have a real need to climb the social ladder and I don't care for that, but I know ppl like that are around (just not in my neck of the woods).
Who did I leave out?

I liked Jill too she seems probably 1 of the more "normal" of them all but the season is young yet....

Betheny is ok...her boyfriend is pretty hot tho loved that bald head....she does seem not so much of a prima donna as the rest of them so far.

and anything else...

I love watching this show too...although some of those ladies get on my last nerve!

I know what was up with Ramona she was all laid back then Alex came in and she freaked out...I can see her being irritated that he came there but to jump up and be all in nasty to him was just over the top then saying well noone told me HE was coming geez take a chill pill already the world doesn't revolve around you no matter how much she wants to believe it does. Then jumping up and leaving when everyone was at the table talking saying she had to go wow how rude haha!

I think Simon really has alot of feminine qualities to him...he irritates me although the whole true love thing is cool but everyone needs a break from time to time no matter how much you are in love. What puzzled me is how they are trying to get Francois into this private very spendy school, spend 10,000 on the opera and dress plus having someone do Alex's makeup and hair but leave their house in shambles and saying it will be at least a 3 year project talk about having their priorities all messed up geez!

I love the "Countess" (or is that what her husband is called I can't remember) she seems pretty cool and funny but i do feel sorry for her boy that wants so badly to go out to eat with her, spend time with her but she has her other things she needs to do....party with girlfriends, go out to lunch to a "no kids allowed" restaurant etc etc.

I do like Jill too she seemed pretty cool so far and seems to have a really close relationship with her daughter which is good to see.

Betheny I'm not so sure about yet her boyfriend is pretty cute with that bald head of his tho I think ha!

Wasn't there another blond lady...I thought there was Ramona and another blond but can't think of her name....

I watch too. I think I am a Reality Show junkie. :)

I think Ramona is jealous of Jill. I think she really wants The Countess to be her friend and can't stand it that Luann and Jill are friends.

I like Bethenny and Jill.

Alex and Simon should just realize how lucky they are the heck with " High Society."

I feel sorry for Luann's son. He seems to really want his mom at home more.:1187603408.CR.Mothe

I missed the show Tuesday and caught up this afternoon. Ramona has some real issues. She admitted to Bethany that her parents were co-dependant and that got to her.

Alex and her husband are a bit pretentious. I cracked up when Bethany went to their son's BD party. When she saw their house, she was so surprised.

Next Tuesday is the finale. Afterwards is the premier of Workout.

Yep, she is a Countess and her husband is a Count. She's a doll. The only thing I don't like about Lu Ann is the fact that they seem to show her son really wanting to spend more time with her and she kind of pushes him away.

And BTW, have you noticed how horrible LuAnn's daughters table manners are? She drives me crazy the way she chews. I just would think a "countess" would make sure she wasn't chewing like a cow on tv.

And Simon, yeah, he SO could be gay if you ask me!!! :a1chic:

Oh gosh , I just said the same thing about LuAnn's son before I read your post, I hope she sees this and makes some changes, poor kid.

The one thing about Simon and Alex that I do like is that they are both on the same page, It has to be great for them to both be so into fashion etc and be able to share the way they do. My husband doesn't give a crap about what I wear. Let alone say "oh darling, I love that dress, would you mind if I buy you that one as well?" Cracks me up!

Ok I'm watching a rerun of the Housewives of NY. It's the episode where Jill and Bethany are having the 'girls' dinner party, but Alex asks if Simon can come. Bethany says that if he wears a dress he can come. When they hang up Alex explains to Simon how that it is a 'girls' party, but she ask if he could come and they showed no hesitation, he was more than welcome.

I think someone said this before, Alex and Simon are so into each other that what goes on outside 'their' circle (between the two of them) doesn't matter.
I also noticed they are, as a couple, pretentious. Somehow, for me, their couple cuetness over-shadows that......lol

The dress she wore to the opera, the one she had to run thru the streets of NY to make it on time, was really cool! That was when they arrived too late to 'network' but decided it was ok and they could do that at dinner.

They definitley sent mixed signals about whether they really wanted Simon there or not. I think that none of them really wanted him there but were not going to be rude.
I just think that Alex needs to return the respect that a girls night is just that.. a girls night. It really does change the dynamics of a situation when there is a man there. I think women should have time when it is just the girls. I bet Alex doesn't get invited to a girls night again since she won't go without Simon.
I sure would like to see her go without him once though, I wonder how she acts when he is not around. Don't get me wrong, they seem happy and more power to them if that is what makes them happy but does Alex know who she is without Simon on her arm? Sadly I don't think she knows herself as a person, just as a couple.

What a riot that show was.

Francois has some behavior issues to say the least. I also couldn't believe how much sugar they give him. They should be more concerned with his diet, play activities and behavior and not his french and what school he is going to go to. They are "those" parents who let the kids run wild and spoil them to death. Add money to the picture and it is not going to be a good turn out.

Ramona. I thought for sure she would redeem herself but she keep acting more and more bipolar. She needs an outlet for her anger.

I almost died when I saw LuAnn was writing a book on etiquette. I love her, however, she needs to teach her daughter how to chew food without looking like a cow. I would be mortified if my child did that on national TV.

Jason, I still don't think he is that into Bethany.

Considering how Ramona has behaved on this show, I hope Jill did say something to her! Ramona is past just annoying. As for Francois, his parents need to invest time in showing him and teaching him how to behave in a social setting. The kid wasn't cute! If his parents don't get control of him now, they won't have to worry about him getting into Harvard or Yale! They will be visiting him at Rykers Island instead! :eyebrow1qb:

The reunion show was great! The women discussed how they were represented on the show and expressed their feelings about it. They also checked each other on things that bothered them, some answered honestly while some weren't so truthful; but not without being called on it.
During the season I like Jill, Bethanny and LuAnne. Those thress ended up, in my opinion, coming out best of show at the reunion. Although I didn't like Jill's answer as to why she walked out of the Luca Luca show...I call bullchit!

Ramona acted like she was on crack or something, bothering me more than ever. At one point she walked off the show when Alex was questioned about her nude pictures being released. Now this is a 40plus woman that dresses from Forever 21, wears her hair like a 20 year old and dirty dances in public with strangers....wth??? As someone said on another board she is batshit crazy!

Alex and Simon were raked thru the coals for their soical climbing status, which they denied and said they were misrepresented.

Bethany came off as she was thruout the season: smart, funny, blunt.
LuAnn was the peace maker and countess that she is.

I hope there is a season two.

I liked the finally show myself. I agree with Tee that Ramona is way out there. I like luann and for some strange reason I find ALex and Simon fasinating. they both live in a bubble of non reality. Simon is so gross and ALex just fawns over him. I find it disgusting. I hope they come back on for season 2. It cracks me up to see what social event they are hammering on next. I really like Bethany. she's to the point and stand up. and I love her dry humor. I could be friends with her. what really impressed me about the NY wives is, they just come out and call each other out. they are more vocal about situations. In Housewives of OC, they were all polite and didn't give much fan fair. the NY wives went for the throat and got along while doing it. I think ALex and Simon's children will need therapy before too long. they don't attend to their kids. for example, the oldest boy stabbing Bethany's boyfriend's hamburger into mush. and no one said anything about their behavior. I think the show was fun to watch. It was interesting to see how they live. their homes were just condo's and apartments which to me would be weird to live in. Like a contained cage. I like having a front door with a garage. Ramona's daughter impressed me. She was like the 40 year old. while her mother is spinning on being 21 the rest of her life. what exactly does the count do? he seems to be away a lot. I hear luann is writing a book on manners. I think her title has gone to her head a bit. Like when Bethany introduced her to the driver as luann. that offended luann. she balked at it. I wouldn't want to live these womens lives, but it's fun being on the outside looking in. I hope they return for season 2.

I kinda felt sorry for Alex. Right at the beginning Ramona started in on her about her house. Then the others joined in. They attacked her. Not saying I like Alex and Simon just felt sorry for her. Does that make sense?

Everyone dresses so well but Ramona. She looks like she is dressed to go to a Jr. High Dance in the 80's. What is up with those dresses she wears?

Then she worried about Alex's nude photos but she kissed another woman on the lips on tv and in front of her daughter. Plus all the other stuff she did. Yep, she is the moral police. :71541:

I hope Luann did not fire Rosie for saying that about her. I think she meant Luann just as much as The Count. I love Rosie.:party52:

Loved the Bethenny and Jill clips. Those two crack me up. :love0085:

I went into Bravo.com and read all their blogs (Jill hasn't updated hers for last night.) It seems they will all be back for Season 2. Sometimes the way Ramona acts, I think the woman's on crack!

Fly I didn't remember that you watched this show. I love to watch it becuz I have two women in my life (one sil, one friend) that could be on the show. However, neither one of them act pretentious at all. I'm gonna ask them what they think of the show...lol
So I'm not sure what the Count does and I don't think he has to do anything, but his great grandfather gave the Statue of Liberty to the United States. Personally I was pretty impressed with that one.
As for LuAnn I don't know anything of her background, but this is her first marriage and the Count's fourth.
Alex and Simon don't have many fans, but for some reason I've always liked them too. Someone compared them to the movie Enchanted Cottage, where a couple lived and were so in love, they were beautiful as long as they stayed in the cottage, but when they went outside they became ugly. After hearing that story, I want to rent the movie...lol I find there devotion and delusion very endearing.
I'm so happy to learn about season 2 - yay:basic44:

I read over on another board that the Count's ggrandfather presented The Statue of Liberty to the United States. He did not finance it or anything like that. I need to do some research on that though. Just what I read.:0009:

Oh yeah I know. But I guess some posters did some snooping and found out he only presented it to the U.S. He was involved though. He did build the Suez Canal. Had something to do with the Panama Canal but something happen there. Some kind of scandal. Then the U.S. took over the Panama Canal building.

I remember luann saying she used to be a model. the Count is her first marriage, his forth. 15 years of being together is a long time in this day and age. Is the count french? didn't we get the statue of liberty from france? what an Icon for a gift to us. especially after we won the war with france. I felt bad about the rest of the women coming down on Alex for her home also. But I did find it a bit weird. Simon goes shopping with her and buys her gowns to wear to social events that she will never wear again cause it's been seen in the social society. what a waste of money. they could easily put some carpet on their stairs and hallway, or tile the hallway for all the money they spend on cloths and social events. after all, he's just a manager of a swanky Hotel. How much could that pay? they have only been married seven years. and if I remember right, I thought I heard alex say they met on line. Or they could be living large on credit. what does ALex do again? doesn't she work? I find them very interesting. why? cause all the pieces don't fit. they thrive in this social world, and live like a bomb went off in Iraq. and they live in Brooklyn instead of the neighborhoods the rest of the gals live in. social circles seem to be their highest temptation. and getting to the top is their goal. I don't get it. But I find it most interesting watching them scramble to not be late for social events. their weird fixation on each other is wild in itself. and they do live in the " Enchanted Cottage."

See there's something about them that I just love and I don't know what it is. I love that they are content to be in their Enchanted Cottage, to me - that's special. It wasn't until I read everyone elses opinion that I realized how strange others think they are.
I don't really care about their house and how it looks, but I probably wouldn't have invited high society ppl there for Francois' birthday party.
They probably do live on credit and are getting more and more in debt. But they do get paid for being on this show....so.......
Alex works at Victoria's Secret, I don't know what she does there, but since I've seen her nude photos, I can tell you she doesn't model (for them).
I've heard there is gonna be a season two.
Personally, I think this group was way more interesting than the Housewives of Orange County.......
Tally Ho....(can I say that in French?....No! Where's Francois?????)

TeeOne I love your avatar. Are those your grandkids or kids? Very cute.

I heard Alex say she is a Visual Designer. Someone said that means she dresses mannequines. :waitasec: I really do not know what it is.:)

I didn't read all the blogs but need to go do that!

Tex - that cute little brunette, Kaleigh she has a temper and I'd consider renting her out...lol

I loved the show, I can't wait for next season. I think these women being more catty than the OC girls just goes to show the more laid back atmosphere of CA vs the hustle bustle of NY.

I just wish these seasons were not so short.
