I was thinking that since there is no court tomorrow and I am very curious, I will go to Canton (Holly Street) where the victim was killed and do some snooping. I use to live in that same subdivision 8 years ago, and I will knock on doors and ask questions. LOL

I will take photos of the house where the victim was killed. :shock:

I won't be out that way until later in the day (after 4 pm) so I will try to have photos posted here by 6 or 7 pm tomorrow night.

I think I will try to make it to the Holly Street neighborhood around 3 pm today in hopes of talking to some of the high school kids who knew JP.

I was talking to my husband again about this case and he reminded me that his sister's kid (they live in Plymouth, Michigan) went to the same school as JP (Plymouth - Canton High School). His nephew did not know JP because he is like 2 grades behind JP. I would go the school but I might be considered trespassing if I try to interview any of the students there on school property. I will do a drive-by of the school and take a photo of the school.

I am sure I will be able to get some people from Holly Street to talk to me. I will walk one of my dogs down the street and start chit chat with anyone willing to talk to me. I will have my camera hanging around my neck and explain that I chat online on a message board with people, who like myself, are very interested in true crimes. If anyone gets upset with me asking questions, I will leave and that will be the end of my interviews. I do not want to get picked up for stalking.

We are suppose to get storms here today after 3pm but I am still going to go to Canton regardless. I know some of the spots like nearby party stores where I can ask teenagers if they knew JP and any of the other kids involved in this bizzare story.

I think I mentioned before that I have memory problems. :eyebrow1qb:

Anyways, I was just walking my dogs and it came to me, some of my neighbors on Orhan street (in the subdivision where JP's grandpa's house is) are cops. The guy next door is a Redford Township cop and the guy across the street is a Westland cop. I will go to their houses also, in hopes they still live there, and see what they know. If they are not there, maybe their wives or kids can talk with me. I am sure they will remember me, even though we only lived there one year.

One other side story, our first home in Livonia, Michigan (where we lived from 1990 - 1998) was down the street (same block) from a missing person case. I do not remember names but this one guy was missing for a few weeks, maybe a few months and come to find out, these two friends were doing some drugs, I think heroin, and one of the guys over dosed and died so the other guy buried his dead friend in the back yard. Ended up that this guy's dog started digging up the dead body and a neighor saw this from his back yard because the body was buried behind the garage adjacent to his yard and called the cops. The friend confessed to what happened. I don't remember much else. Thank God this was after we sold our house before this happened.

I use to work as an assistant to a realtor and that is why I have lived in a few different cities in the last 20 years:

Ann Arbor (Washtenaw County)
Canton (Wayne County)
Livoinia (Wayne County)
Westland (Wayne County)
Fowlerville (Livingston County)
Novi (Oakland County)

My husband and I ended up fixing up homes and selling them but we ended up losing money on a few of these homes. I no longer work for a realtor and we no longer fix and sell homes.

Even though we live in Novi, crime happens everywhere. In Novi we had a neighbor who killed his elderly parents by setting their house on fire. He was over loaded by taking care of them. What a sad place this world can be.

I am heading out to meet a friend to go see the Movie "Stop-Loss" and will be back to let my dogs out before I head to Canton later today.

wow, that's a shame that the guy just didn't call 911... guess cos he was so high, and drugs were involved, he was too scared to. he could've waited til he came "down" some and then called tho. how sad. he made a terrible, terrible decision.

this reminds of spector tho..... some of the best discussions were on fridays actually.... you could actually discuss and not have to pay attention to any feed. now... everybody just hauls azz.... man when ppl leave from here... the LEAVE!!! prolly won't see anyone til monday!!

yup. this case is horrific... and certainly interesting in a depraved way... but it's no "whodunnit" :girl_sad: so i don't even bother with trying to "catch up" on it, ya know?
we already know the sick lil psycho did it.... i'm ready for a real WHOdunnit!!!!!!

well there can't be any question about guilt on this one, since he admits that he did it.... but says he did it in self-defense... which is truly laughable. i mean... can ya premeditate killing someone in self-defense???? jeeeezzz! weird!

It was easy for me to find JP's Grandpa's house thanks to Jean on InSession and one of her reports with Daniel Spitz. They were standing in front of the house on Holly Street and I noticed it was a gray brick home with chimes in front. I pulled up in front of the house and got out of my car. I seen a young man across the street heading for his car. He sees me and my camera. I say hi and then ask him if he has a minute to speak with me. He says ok, but then I tell him I am interested in anything he can tell me about the murder that happened across the street and he says he does not want to talk about it. I said ok, and then I cross back over to the Grandpa's house and take the following photos:

this is the driveway that alex explained they walked out the side door to meet dan when he arrived. notice the garage is in the back.

so, after i take this photos, i drive by my old house and knocked on the door next to my old house but no one was home. i left without speaking to anyone except for the guy across the street from the murder scene who did not want to talk.

The Pizza Hut and Wendy's are very close to each other about a 1/4 mile apart. The area behind this Pizza Hut has a wooded nature peserve area that will never be developed and I wonder why JP did not put the head here. He did throw away the container holding the head in the dumpster there.

The Rouge River runs through Hines Park.

Hines Park is named after Edward N. Hines

The first photo is a part of Hines Park showing the Rouge River. This location is one mile from the Holly Street location in Canton. This part of Hines is in Plymouth, Michigan which boarders Canton. This part of the Rouge River is at least 6 feet deep.

now the next photos are the part of Hines where Helm Haven is. This is where JP and Alex dumped Dan's head. This location is about 10 miles from the Holly Street Canton location. This part of the Rouge River is about 2 feet deep.

This is the school that JP went to using his Grandpa's address to be eligle to go there. I am not clear on the facts if JP lived with his Grandpa full time or not. This high school is called Plymouth - Salem - Canton (3 adjacent communites) and it looks like a college campus with numerous buildings.

below are photos of the school I believe Alex went to and most of the other kids involved. this school is actually closer to the Holly Street location but it is in Livonia and the nearby Canton kids are bussed to Plymouth - Canton schools. Some kids in the northwestern part of Westland are bussed to some of the Livonia schools. I realize this is kind of confusing but at this point where the school below (Churchill High School) is in Livonia but less than a mile from the edge of Westland and Canton.

I forgot to do a map search for the Northville location where the burnt body of Dan was found. I do not know my way well enough in the back roads of Northville and I was running out of time because a tornado watch is now in effect and I had to go pick up Dino at the vets.

WOW!!!! Try!!!! Thanks so much. This is amazing. We don't usually get up close and personal photos of the places in the trials we watch. The grandfather's house just kinda gave me the creeps; if you know what I mean. It's just a normal home in every way.

Oh Well I probably don't need to see too much more "real"-this case has really got under my skin, the horrorible creepiness of it. It's good there's this 3 day break. DH says "for blank blank sake, don't watch it any more" but he knows that's not going to happen.

The nightmares I have had for the last two nights are unlike anything I've dreamt before.

And then just to make it worse I went and bought "Evil Summer" about the summer of 1924 in Chicago when Leopold and Loeb killed Bobby Franks....

I just did a map search of the Northville subdivision where Dan's body was dumped and burned. It is about 15 miles west of the Holly Street location and approximately 16 minutes travel time according to mapquest.

I expect this Northville location is now further developed. I heard Jean on Insession mention that the houses in this area are mansions. I can believe that. I will try to make it out there one day next week and take photos.

I went to bed at 9pm last night and now I it is 4 am and I am wide awake. I can't stop thinking about that guy across the street from the crime scene on Holly Street. The look on his face was "I am so tired of this". I really felt bad after asking him to talk to me. I later wondered if he might be a witness for the defense? Who knows, they may call on some of the neighbors to testify??? I sure would be creeped out if what happened on Holly Street happened on my street.

I think it's whoooooooooooo-oooooooooooooooooooo Twilight Zone-y that katy can see your pics, and others, yet others can't.

Thing is, I can see the last one you just posted, the dumpster :shock:,
but not the others.
I'm wondering if my settings aren't right for the others, maybe there's a filter or some kind of setting that I've/we've got set too high to view these.
I'm going to go into "My Computer" (always dangerous) and see what I can see. And not totally wreck the machine while I do it.

I will reload the photos and see if this helps. I am not going to add the school photos, they really are just typical of suburban high schools. Also, the other photos of Hines Park at a closer location to Holly Street are really irrelevant. I am just surprised the sick little SOB did not dump the head there since the water is far more deeper and the location far more closer to where he hangs out than Helm's Haven is.

How wonderful to have our very own board member on the scene. The quality of the pictures couldn't have been better. Your contribution to the board has been priceless. Thank you for going to so much trouble for us. It has certainly given me a greater understanding of the scenes being talked about in the trial. Just be safe.
