Registered sex offender arrested
Published April 18, 2008

A registered sex offender in Gadsden who was serving as a youth minister at a Cullman County church was arrested on a sex abuse warrant, according to a news release from the office of Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

Michael George Likos, 34, of Tabor Road inside the Gadsden city limits, was arrested about 12:30 p.m. today on a warrant from Cullman County, Etowah County Sheriff’s Department investigator Jeff Hopper said. Likos was charged with first-degree sexual abuse. The victim was under the age of 12, according to the release.

Likos was registered as a sex offender to live in Gadsden after previous convictions in Louisiana and Mississippi. He was convicted there for crossing a state line to engage in sexual contact with a minor, Hopper said.

The Cullman County incident allegedly happened sometime before 2005, when the laws were upgraded to not allow a convicted sex offender to be sentenced and given probation, Hopper said.

Likos’ case in Cullman County will be prosecuted according to the previous laws, Hopper said.

At the time of the incident, Likos allegedly was driving back and forth from Gadsden to the Cullman area, where he played the piano and served as youth minister at a church, Hopper said.

Roamer,

Isn't this the area where Blake is missing? I can't remember the last name, but the step-mom is posting about the search.

Same general area, KM. Jeffrey Blake Stone is his name, and there's still been nothing found as of yesterday.
