Prayers Please for Kansas Queen/Kanda's husband who had a heart attack yesterday

For everyone who knows Kanda as she is known here, and Kansas Queen on the CTV board, PLEASE say a prayer for her husband who had a heart attack yesterday.

This is what i know when she tried to get ahold of me by phone and could not, so she emailed me...

"The reason I called tonite was to tell you that R had a heart attack today. Actually he had several. One even claimed his life but they were able to bring him back using the paddles. It was very much touch and go there for awhile. But after they put 2 stints in place, he's resting well in the ICU tonite. Just thot I would let you know."

yes, she is and I agree, FD. Never has a harsh word to say to anyone. Her husband? Nicest man I've met in a long time.

Kanda is trying to stay positive by saying, "well....the whole family will be here for Christmas."

I received this in an email last night, FD:

"Yesterday the 12th, my husband Russ had several heart attacks. One so severe that he crashed (coded) but they brought him back. Being in a small town, our little hospital ER did all that they could then packaged him up and sent him via ambulance to the big nearby city of Salina. There they put 2 stints in a main artery in his heart after drilling it out. It was completely blocked.

The dr was gonna keep him until tomorrow but we're expecting another HUGE storm. She said she had to decide whether to keep him another THREE days or let him go home today. He begged to be let out and promised this dr things I know he'd never promise me. So, we're home now. He'll be off work for at least 2 weeks until we can meet with the dr for a follow up. The list of things he has to do is long and not very interesting.

On a lighter note: So I asked him when he was "gone" if he saw the bright light ... he looked at me and said NO. I said, so it was all dark? He said yes. I then asked him if it was VERY hot in that dark place. I then got one of these: :p (roll eyes)

Kanda is just amazing. Always thinking of others. If anyone wants to send a card to her husband, please let me know and I will get the address. I only have her home phone number. She truly is a wonderful woman with a great husband. Kanda takes in and counsels abused victims, and hubby is a deputy sheriff.

Glad all is okay and he is at home, recovering. Sounds like he has an angioplasty done, had some clogged arteries. Glad he is home. :love0085: Thanks Rockford for the update.

What a wonderful woman to try and lighten up his situation with the "white light" question, or hot in that dark place. Great sense of humor.
