if any of those restaurants were around here, i'd have no problem ordering any of those foods. the key is doing it occasionally. i just have the opinion that i could drop dead tomorrow & i'll be damned if the last food i eat is gonna be a rice cake!:girl_haha:

i generally eat pretty healthy, plenty of home-grown, no pesticides veggies & fruits, but when i want paula deens mac & cheese, thats what we're having. by the way has anyone seen the episode where she takes a square of mac & cheese, wraps it in bacon & deep-fries it? that might be a little much even for me!:francis:

I have seen it (unfortunately). I cannot believe anyone actually eats that stuff. :puke:

: Head cheese has been described as a kind of lunch meat made from “parts of a hog’s head, which are boiled together with spices and gelatin, then cooled and sliced, [resulting in] a mosaic of meat chunks.” The gelatin melts into the soft bread (baked on the premises) under the interior heat of the meats, contributing to a velvety texture in the overall experience, leaving flavorful pork trimmings strewn across your plate. The sandwich is a huge mouthful and every bite seems to yield a different mouthful of meat, some spiced and thin, others chewy and lightly sauced. The aguacate, cheese, and beans give off creamy sensations as you maw and tear at the layers of carne.

I love ANY Quizos sub. I can't think of the exact name of my favorite, but it's chicken with bacon/avocado. OMG it is so delicious. The avocado on it is the trick!

:67302: Claudia, you have me in stitches!!

I never wanted to hurt my husband's grandmother's feelings when she would ask us to purchase this stuff for her but lordy.......:puke: And she always found it to be a real treat. :thud2:

oh. one more thing. You should see what holds this stuff together. If memory serves me right, it was some kind of white stuff like a jelly of some sort.

Aw, come on, Tam - No meat jell-o for you? No hunks of pig head set in a nice clear gelatinous substance on white bread with a little mayo? Awww, where's your sense of adventure?

What we find repulsive is a matter of perception.

Once, on All in the Family, Edith had prepared cow's tongue for dinner. Archie was highly incensed, and said, "I won't eat anything that came out of a cow's mouth! Fix me an egg salad sandwich!"

My dad loves fish roe. When I was a kid, we'd have it with eggs. I ate it & ate it. It actually tasted pretty good. Then I found out what it was. Never ate it again.

I would never in a million years eat escargot - THAT is nasty. Oysters, clams, scallops - ew. Raw eggs - disgusting. Mushrooms - no way. I don't do fungus.

Oh man, I love raw clams. I guess it's a taste you have to develope. I used to go to Little Neck, Long Island and go claming with our family. We used to get out own clams and open them right there. I can eat them by the dozens.

I love all types of seafood. Caviar is a delicacy, do you know how much they go for????

When I was a kid my grandmother used to make escargot, I too tasted it. Once I found out what it was, never again. I used to play with snails how the hell can I eat them.

Smoked eel is another one I've tasted but once I found out what is was, never again. I don't eat snakes.

Eel? No way. Blech.

I am not a seafood eater, never have been. I can eat Flounder or Sole, sometimes some crab meat.

RAW clams???? Oh, gross!!! I have eaten fried ones before, and they didn't make me puke, but raw? No way!

My Grandaddy lived on the water, and he would go out in his boat and get a bushel basket full of oysters. He'd go back to the house, sit in his chair out by the boathouse & shuck them & eat them raw right there. :puke:

DH and I both love raw oysters (never tried clams) but he says, "It must have been one hungry ******* that could look at that and try it for the first time."
