LA VERGNE — Police are looking for a 14-year-old girl who has been missing for more than a month.

Mai Khantikone was last seen leaving her home at approximately 6 p.m. on March 14. She is an Asian female with black hair and brown eyes and is 5 feet tall and weighs 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt. She also wears glasses and a gold necklace with a blue sapphire flower pendant.

Police have lead in missing girl case

LA VERGNE — Police say the 14-year-old girl who left her home last month contacted a friend a few weeks later and said she was fine.

Mai Khantikone was last seen leaving her home on foot at approximately 6 p.m. on March 14. Detective Lt. Stace Thompson said the girl called a friend named Kelly on April 6.

“We don’t know Kelly’s last name so we’re still trying to track that lead down,” he said.

The detective said the girl’s mother is concerned because this is the first time she’s left home for this length of time and not contacted her.
