Moderately retarded man missing in L.B.

LONG BEACH - A 31-year-old man diagnosed with the mental capacity of a 10-year-old has been missing for more than a day, police said Wednesday.

Salvador Flores was last seen in the 600 block of West Eighth Street wearing blue and white shorts, a grey T-shirt with "Jesus Boss" on it and brown Vans sneakers, Long Beach Police said.

Flores is diagnosed as being moderately mentally retarded and he has seizures, Long Beach Police Officer Jackie Bezart said.

Flores, who is Hispanic, is 5-feet, 2-inches tall, 135 pounds with a mustache, black hair and brown eyes. He was reported missing on Tuesday, shortly after 11 p.m.

He is known to frequent the Drake Park area.

Long Beach Police Searching For Missing Man, 31
LONG BEACH Long Beach police Thursday were searching for a 31-year-old man with diminished mental capacity who failed to return home.

Salvador Flores was last seen about 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of Eighth Street near Drake Park, according to Long Beach police Sgt. Dina Zapalski. He may also have been seen near Atlantic Avenue and Sixth Street.

"The family is very distraught, and has no idea where he would go," Zapalski said. "He has never been missing before, and has never been away from home this long."

Flores, who speaks English and Spanish, is Hispanic, 5 feet 2 inches tall and 135 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a mustache. He was wearing blue-and-white checked shorts, brown shoes and a gray T-shirt cut off at the sleeves with "Jesus is my Boss" on the front.

LONG BEACH - A 31-year-old man with diminished mental capacity who failed to return home was located Thursday, Long Beach police said.

Salvador Flores, who was last seen about 11 p.m. Tuesday near Drake Park, in the 600 block of Eighth Street, was returned to his family, said Long Beach police Sgt. Dina Zapalski.
