The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office needs help identifying the skeletal remains of a man found by a ranch hand on a canal bank in northwestern St. Lucie County.
Sheriff Ken Mascara said the body was found Tuesday afternoon in the 16000 block of Indrio Road in a sparsely populated agricultural area.
"We estimate the body has been there from six to 12 months," Mascara said.
The man was wearing dark-colored work shorts, a brown leather belt, a light brown cotton T-shirt and boxer shorts.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 in St. Lucie County or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-(800) 273-TIPS (8477). Callers to Crime Stoppers don't have to give their names to be eligible for a reward if the tip leads to an arrest.
