Woman Missing After Going to "Club"

Los Angeles police today sought public's help in finding a 28-year-old woman who was last seen more than a week ago.

Roxana Romero left from work at California Hospital around 7 p.m. on April 19, and called relatives to tell them that she had to work the next day and would be in touch with them.

Romero's boyfriend of eight years told investigators that after Romero got off work, she returned to their home in the 700 block of North Edgemont Street, near Melrose Avenue, in Los Angeles.

That same evening, Romero left the home around 9 p.m. saying she was going to a club with some co-workers. She did not leave in her car and it is unknown who she may have left with.

Romero is Latina, 5 feet 2 inches tall and 130 pounds, with blond hair and brown eyes. Romero's family said she is in good mental and physical condition.

Los Angeles: Family members and the Los Angeles Police Department are asking for the publics help in locating a woman missing for over a week.

Detectives said that Roxana Romero left from work at California Hospital on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at around 7:00 p.m. She phoned her relatives to tell them that she had to work the next day, but would be in touch with them on Sunday.

Romero’s boyfriend of eight years told investigators that Romero returned to their home in the 700 block of North Edgemont Street in Los Angeles, after getting off work Saturday night, April 19, 2008. Romero left that same evening at around 9:00 p.m., saying she was going to a club with some of her co-workers. Romero did not leave in her car and it is unknown who she may have left with.

Romero is described as a twenty-eight-year-old female Hispanic, 5’02”, 130 lbs., with blond hair and brown eyes. Romero’s family said the she was in good mental and physical condition.

LAPD: Missing Woman Case Reclassified As Homicide

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles police said Tuesday that a missing woman in fact was discovered dead several weeks ago and her case is now being investigated as a homicide. But no details were released about the disappearance of Roxana Romero, 28, who left work at California Hospital on April 19, was briefly seen by her boyfriend, and then was listed as missing until her body turned up on May 16.

"It's a sensitive investigation," said Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section, who said he had no further information.

At the time of her disappearance, Romero returned to her home in the 700 block of North Edgemont Street, and told her boyfriend of eight years that she was going to a club with some of her coworkers.

She did not leave her residence in her own car, and it is not known who she left with.

Los Angeles police Detective Bruce Kuehl said that the case was taken over by detectives in the Robbery-Homicide Division.
