My thoughts are she didn't stay at the friends house.

All I have to say is...she was supposed to stay at her friends house but her friend never got her or sumthing in that sort. So she was never there. All of her friends are worried about her...including me. Well one of her friends got a voicemail message from Megan saying that she is ok and that to tell all of her friends that. And the things on myspace don't nesasarally mean anything... but I'm not saying she isn't engagged I wouldn't know...but I have put things on there that weren't true...like my age and stuff...well that's all I really have to say....oh wait the ppl that are going around spreading rumors are tryin to start trouble with Megan... So now that is all I have to say. Chey

I wonder how she planned to get over to her friend's house. If she was supposed to walk, I hope they did or would do a ground search since she does have some medical history.

Welcome, Chey. Could you tell us if it's been verified she was the one who left the voicemail? Has she run away? Why wouldn't she call her parents, do you know?

cheyenne&anthony

I'm possitive it was her that left the voicemessage on the girls phone and that's what makes me mad because the girl didn't tell the police that she knew anything about where she is. And yes I'm pretty sure she ran away because I mean what else? She wouldn't have been able to call if she didn't run away. I think the reason she wouldn't call her parents is because she ranaway. Well I'll tell you more l8er but I g2g

yea there keeping her case in the papers and on the internet and at skool and they do have fliers. But yea um a couple of my friends and I got interviewed at skool and you know how I said that one girl didn't tell the police that she heard from her...well me and my close friend told the police and the investigator that we know she knew something and my friend went back and talked to the police and told them that she got a text from Megan on Sunday and so they said that they would look at the girls phone records and they haven't really said anything really about it. But yea I just really hope they find her...a bunch of people say that she is in Browns Farry... But I wouldn't know. g2g

Chey, it might be a good idea to let her friends know that if they're hiding her, or helping her hide, they could be in trouble for obstructing justice or even interference with custody.

Her family just wants her home safely.

COMMENT @ news site
Why don't you tell the whole story if you are going to tell it? Why did you not mention that this girl called her friends last night and she is OK? Why did you not mention she returned to her house Thursday while her parents were away and retrieved her Ipod? Why did you not mention she has been having problems with her family and her mother did not know until Tuesday that she was engaged when she read it online?
You make it sound like there is a teen-snatcher running around out here just so you can have a more sensational story. Never let facts get in the way of a good newspaper story, as they say!

Dannyingeorgetown! First of all if you knew ALL of this yourself why the heck didn't you let everyone know in the 1st place? Maybe Chey was telling what she knew and I know personally she and her family were all worried as they heard other things being said which was very upsetting So don't sit there saying this crap to my niece who has a big heart and was telling what she knew. The family should have also said this beings they were the ones to actually know the real truth instead of letting everyone believe what was really going around... If ya got some more stupid stuff to say to my niece...DON'T!

Police investigate possible phone call from missing girl

The mother of a missing 17-year-old Georgetown girl said Monday police continue to investigate her disappearance.

Georgetown Police Chief Paul Gardner said investigators are trying o determine whether Megan Marie Lance, 17, phoned a friend this past weekend.

The call was brief and has not been verified as being from Lance, police said.

The person claiming to be Lance told her friend she was unhurt, Gardner said.

The call was possibly made with a borrowed cell phone. Lance might have been in North Myrtle Beach when she made the call.

``We still believe there is no foul play involved and that she left on her own accord,'' Gardner said. ``There was some contact over the weekend. She called an individual and said she was OK. There was an attempted police follow up.''

Lance, of the Bayview community, was last seen April 26 around 11 a.m., said her mother, Teresa Helms.

Lance did not come home from the friend's house and is now considered medically endangered, according to police. Lance, who has had seizures, takes medicine for breathing problems and did not take the medication with her, Helms said. Lance's family placed posters around Georgetown last week.

That happens most of the time with fliers, they get blown down, taken down for various reasons. It's important for people to keep reposting them periodically.
