Corona Police Say Missing Woman, Daughter Left Voluntarily

POSTED: 3:51 pm PDT May 6, 2008

CORONA, Calif. -- A woman and her 3-year-old daughter, who were reported missing 10 days ago in Corona, left home voluntarily and are safe, authorities said Tuesday.

Corona police Sgt. Jerry Pawluczenko said Trang Nguyen told detectives she was unhappy with her "situation at home and desired to leave but did not wish to elaborate, indicating it was a personal matter."

The 24-year-old woman's husband reported her and daughter Valentine missing after she failed to return to the couple's Fern Hollow Drive home on April 25.

Her husband told police he and Nguyen were experiencing marital difficulties. But when she did not come home, he feared something might have happened to Nguyen, who speaks little English and has no known friends or family in the area, according to Pawluczenko.

Corona police investigators confirmed the whereabouts of the woman and child Monday, but declined to elaborate.
