MANSFIELD — Nearly a month has passed since a township man went missing, and police are hoping a $10,000 reward will help produce information that helps them solve the disappearance.
James Latham, 49, was last seen at 5 a.m. April 8 when his daughter dropped him off at his home on Sheffield Drive, Detective Daniel Ehnstrom said. Latham is believed to have left the residence on foot a short time later, Ehnstrom said.
Since that morning, family members and friends have not seen or heard from Latham. His employers at the Sunoco refinery in Philadelphia also have had not contact with him.
Ehnstrom said police have canvassed the township several times but have failed to locate the missing man or clues to his whereabouts.
“We’ve done just about everything we can think of,” Ehnstrom said.
Family members told investigators that Latham suffered from severe depression and had disappeared for short periods of time before, Ehnstrom said. However, he always returned home about a day later, the detective said.
Ehnstrom said foul play is not suspected but has not been ruled out.
Latham was last seen wearing blue jeans, a green shirt and a dark blue denim jacket. He wears eye glasses.
Ehnstrom asked anyone with information about Latham’s disappearance or whereabouts to call police at (609) 298-4411 or the Sunoco Crime Spotter hot line at (800)-786-2746.

MANSFIELD — A missing man’s employer has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to his discovery.
James Latham, 49, of Mansfield Township, was reported missing by his family at 7:56 a.m. April 8. Police said at the time that he was last seen at 5 a.m. when his daughter dropped him off at his Sheffield Drive residence.
Sunoco Inc. has offered $10,000 through its Crime Spotter Reward Program “for information that ultimately helps solve this missing person case.” Sunoco was Mr. Latham’s employer at the time of his disappearance, according to Detective Daniel Ehnstrom. Anyone with information can call the Crime Spotter Hotline at 1-800-SUN-CRIME (1-800-786-2746).
The investigation in Mr. Latham’s disappearance is ongoing.
“We still haven’t gotten any substantial leads,” Detective Ehnstrom said. “Hopefully somebody’s seen him or has located him. That’s all we’re looking to do.”
Detective Ehnstrom encouraged anyone with information to call police at 609-723-8300 and ask for him.
Police said they believe he left his residence on foot shortly thereafter. Mr. Latham was last seen wearing blue jeans, and a dark blue jean jacket over a green button-down shirt. He is 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, has blue eyes and brown hair, a fair complexion, and wears eyeglasses, police said.
