Another possible case?

ANOKA, Minn. - The Anoka County sheriff's office on Tuesday joined the investigation into the search for Jelani Dante Brinson, an Anoka man missing since Friday.

Brinson, 24, was last seen leaving a friend's house in Anoka around 10:30 p.m. on April 17.

One of Brinson's shoes and his hat were found across the street on the other side of the neighbor’s fence. He didn't show up for work Saturday and he hasn't picked up his car.

Calls to Brinson's cell phone have not been answered

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says Jelani Brinson, 24, was found at the Greenhaven Golf Course in Anoka. Police say his body was floating in a shallow pond on the property.

Another puzzling case
http://helpfindthemissing.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12626

The search for University of St. Thomas freshman Dan Zamlen ended Friday after his body was discovered downstream in the Mississippi River Friday morning.

Zamlen went missing on April 5 after a night of drinking. He left the party upset and called a friend during his walk home. In the last moments of the conversation, Zamlen cried out for help before the phone went dead.

Has the FBI released a profile on what type person (if it is the same person) would do this? Years ago Texas had young boys going missing. LE had not even connected them as being victims of one killer, because it was thought that they were runaways. It turned out that it was the work of two guys...one the leader..who was killing them after raping and torturing them. A couple of the bodies had been buried in the dunes on a local beach...and a couple were never found. The only way the case was solved was when the guy who was participating in the murders became afraid for his own life. I wish I could remember their names. The reason I mention this is because in the case of young healthy men, it could be more than one person doing it. It is not unheard of.

Are you thinking of Dean Coril? There is some info here. http://helpfindthemissing.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8137

In these so-called Smiley Face cases not all LE believe they are connected and many still consider them accidents.

Thank you, Packy...that is the one. On the link, there is a little confusing thing. They refer to him as "the candy man". The man known to Texans as the candy man was another guy who murdered his own child with laced Halloween candy, also giving some to neighbor children. In prison, he was known as the candy man. Maybe some prisoners also referred to Coril the same way...but when we hear candy man...it is the creep (again, cannot remember the name) that killed his own child and tried to kill others to make it look like someone else did it). I never look at a giant pixie stick candy without thinking of that murder.

Coril and his cohorts buried at least one of the bodies within yards of one of our favorite fishing holes. My mother stopped going to that area prior to finding the body. She kept telling us some mean, suspicious looking characters were hanging out there. Coril was a monster. Many young boys were never found, and I used to look at all the dunes when driving past and wonder how many were still there.

The name just came to me...O'Bryan. (sorry SOB)

I noticed that about the Candyman too. Wasn't Gacy in Chicago also known as the Candyman?

Good thing your mom stopped going there. Who knows what she may have run into if she had been around at the wrong time.

My mother stopped going anywhere near that area. They started fishing about a mile away...and came across a dead woman in a car that had committed suicide. That did it for her and her fishing buddy...no more fishing near Surfside Beach. Maybe every prison has a "candy man" for one reason or another.

I hear that, Texanne.

Footprints at the Rivers Edge mentions this book about one of the MN victims, Chris Jenkins. Upper left corner next to the story of Matthew Soumakis who was found in the Chicago River where we recently had news of another body found in that river.

Footprints of Courage, a book by Jan Jenkins, "is a first look at the tragic and untold story of the Chris Jenkins murder investigation undertaken by the family who loved him." The book can be pre-ordered online and is expected to be released in early September.
