Where Are Jennifer And Adrianna Wix?

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h169/avataralley/missing/jenadrianna.jpg

Jennifer Wix moved with her two year old daughter to her boyfriend's family compound on an 80 acre farm outside of Cross Plains, Tennessee in August of 2003. She had told her mother that she had found her "prince". Her boyfriend's entire family lived in this remote compound, aunts, uncles, grandparents. They were rather reclusive and did not like outsiders.

Jennifer's relationship with her boyfriend turned sour quickly, though and her mother moved to the area to be closer to Jennifer and help her get through this time. Jennifer had told her family members that her boyfriend had made some threatening remarks to her.

On Thursday, March 25, 2004, Jennifer's boyfriend claimed they argued and he drove her to a nearby gas station close to the interstate. He claimed she got into the backseat of a white four door car with Adrianna. He also said he did not see the driver of the car or what direction they were headed. The car was alternately a white Mustang, a white Camaro and eventually, probably along the time the boyfriend realized that neither Mustangs nor Camaros come with four doors, the car became a Grand Prix.

The boyfriend claimed that Jennifer came back the next day, driving the same car, without Adrianna with her.

Jennifer did not take any personal belongings either for herself or Adrianna. She had no money with her, no ID.

His family will not allow their property to be searched, although it is the last place Jennifer and Adrianna were seen. Although the Robertson County sheriff's department never said they suspected foul play, the case is listed as a criminal investigation. They have never pushed the boyfriend's family to search the property thoroughly. At one point, a volunteer search was organized and at the last minute, the family backed out.

The boyfriend does not have a great reputation, according to rumors. In an unrelated incident, when he was placed in the back of a police car, he allegedly kicked out the back window and had to be hog tied. He didn't have a regular job, yet always had a wad of cash. Allegedly, he was working for his family building a home and being paid in cash.

Even if you follow missing persons cases, this may have been one you haven't heard about. Kathy, Jennifer's mother and Adrianna's grandmother, has pushed very hard to get some national attention focused on this case, to very little avail. Finally, it will be featured on Montel Williams on Friday, October 21.

Praying for safe return for Wix

To the Editor:

Sometime in 2002 my grandson, Joey Benton, cleaned out a small barn on our property.

He fixed it up to play video games and watch ball games with his friends. The barn had electricity but it didn’t have water.

In the fall of the next year, Jennifer Wix, his friend’s cousin, asked him to please let her and her baby stay in the barn with him.

She said that her mother was living in Nevada and she didn’t have any place to live. Jennifer didn’t have a job. She was trying to take care of her baby and she couldn’t do it alone. So they stayed in the barn. Jennifer couldn’t get a job because she had to care for her baby and she had no transportation.

During the next few months, we saw Jennifer and Adrianna every week or so at family dinners.

Jennifer kept her baby in the same room with her all the time. She never asked anyone to keep Adrianna.

Our family enjoyed planning Christmas for Adrianna. Joey made her a rocking horse and a little playhouse. We enjoyed having a little one here. Several times they did visit Jennifer’s paternal grandparents, and once at Christmas, they went to Dickson to visit her Dad.

Sometime in the next month or so, Jennifer asked me if she could have a birthday party for Adrianna at our house. She did have the party and it was nice. We were all there and one of Jennifer’s aunts and some of her family were there.

Because of the cold weather, sometime the last part of January, Joey’s dad told him that it was too cold for a baby to stay in the barn so they should move in with them.

Things went smoothly for a while, but Jennifer wanted to move back to the barn and Joey didn’t.

They argued about it for a few days then Jennifer told Joey that if he wouldn’t move back to the barn, she was going to make other arrangements.

Jennifer and Adrianna were alone in my son’s home the last day she was there.

She made dozens of long distance calls and I’m sure she talked locally too.

When Joey got home from work, Jennifer asked him to take them to the service station at the Interstate. She said someone was picking her up there. Joey took her out there.

We do not know where they went.

We love them. We helped them and no one in our family would ever dream of doing anything to hurt them.

We pray every day for their safe return.

Mother wants answers in girls’ disappearance

To the Editor:

Unfortunately, my daughter, Jennifer Wix, is not here and I must be her voice. I will continue to do so as long as necessary.

I am grateful to the people of the community and law enforcement who continue to support my family as we search for the truth.

I feel that the public should have a clear understanding of the events leading to the girl’s disappearance.

In the spring of 2003, I transferred to Nevada. Jennifer chose to stay here, her home, to raise her child. Three months later she told me she had met Joey Benton and that they had fallen in love. A month later the relationship had ended badly. Jennifer called me after a violent argument with Joey and she and Adrianna moved to her grandparents. She wanted me to move home and I did.

They moved into an apartment in my home in the fall of 2003. On Dec. 21, 2003, Jenn decided to give their relationship another chance and moved into “the barn” with Joey. They stayed with him in the barn until a few weeks before they vanished. On March 23, 2004 at 9 p.m. I received a call from Jenn, there was a terrible argument occurring between her and Joey’s parents. She was crying and could not believe that these folks that she cared about were so hostile towards her and Adrianna. Like most young women, she wanted to handle the situation herself. That would be the last time that I would hear Jennifer’s voice.

Jennifer and Adrianna’s fate is a mystery to me, but there are some things that I know for sure.

Jennifer loved Joey Benton and told me that they were planning a future together.

The long distance calls that Jenn made were to her father in Manchester and locally to her aunt.

Joey’s statement to my family is that Jenn returned to his home on Friday, this is the last known place she was seen.

Jennifer had no car, took no clothing and no money. Jennifer has never ran away, there is no reason to believe that she has now, they vanished from the Benton home on Friday, March 25, 2004. Neither of their social security numbers have been used.

My daughter loved Robertson County and her life here.

I love them, miss them and will continue to search for them.

Hello to all and thank you all for your continued support!

One thing that I feel should explain is that this "granny" is not your standard grandmother! She seems to be the leader of this group of strange individuals. What she says goes! She is who kept anyone from searching their property for two years. Also, about three weeks after the girls vanished from her property, she came to my house, as my family and friends were preparing my middle daughter for her senior prom, and said to me, "you, stay off of my road!" When I tried, very polietly to tell her that we had to look at the last place the girls were seen, afterall they could have took a walk and fell in the woods or been snake bitten, she then said to me, "if they were on my propertly, you would have smelled their dead bodies by now!" I have never came so close to pulling every last hair out of an old womans head!! I probably would have had my Dad not grabbed my arm and stood and pointed to the road, signaling for them to leave immediatly.

About the barn.......Jennifer and Joey were happy together in the barn apparently, things between them began to fall apart when they moved in with his Mom and Dad.......................this is the only reason that I can imagine that Jenn would have been so insistant that they move back to the barn. In my mind, I imagine, Jennifer wanting Joey to move out of his parents house with her, if it meant moving back to the barn then fine with her, but I imagine Joey refusing and her threatening to leave. Since I know about the argument between her and his mom the night before her vanishing, she probably thought anything would be better than staying in their home for a minute longer.

Hi Grande and missthegirls. When Adrianna and Jennifer first went missing I followed their disappearance, although in recent months I haven't kept up.

I just wanted to refresh my memory on a few things. I've followed too many missing persons cases and sometimes I start mixing up the facts.
Did some sort of search take place on the parents property for Adrianna and Jennifer? and was there sonar equipment used on the foundation of the new home that was built and nothing came of it?
I'm sorry, but it's been awhile. Any refresher you can give would be much appreciated.

Hugs to you "missthegirls" :1222423: and its awesome to see you've kept up the search to find out what happened to your girls.

May you find comfort in gods arms.:1222423: :1222423:

Yes, two years after the girls vanished I managed to get LE to search the property.......I'll never truly know how thorough the search was because they would not tell me the day they were searching and would not let anyone within a mile of the property......but, they did do a search and they said that sonar equipment was used on the new house. I'm sorry if I seem a little distrusting of LE, but that is what all this has done to my faith in the ones who have taken an oath to protect and serve us and are paid with our tax dollars.

Thank you for remembering Jennifer and Adrianna!

Thank you all for your warm birthday wishes.............I wish that I had something to report on Jennifer and Adrianna's case, but there is nothing new. The case seems to have just gone cold for LE, but it never will for me and I trudge on everyday looking for any small detail that will lead to the answer to what happened to my girls. You know, of course I miss them everyday and their special days like their birthday are really difficult but, even my own birthday is awful now because all I can think of is that I have gotten another year older without knowing where they are and have missed spending my days with them for another year.........there is one very bright spot on my birthday though......my youngest daughters birthday is also today so we always spend it together, she turned 20 today! I am very proud of her and the young lady that she has become despite what she has been through missing her big sister and niece. I just wish that Jennifer and Adrianna would be ok and come home to us again.............

Thank you for remembering them!

I have followed the case of Jennifer and Adrainna on other boards, missthegirls, and did not realize that they finally did do a search. I would want to know all the details of the search and how extensive it was if it involved my loved ones. It would seem that it could be open information to me. I hope that the answers will come for you.

Even if the family might have been angry that anyone would think they were involved in the disappearance, I'd think that they would put the fact of the disappearance uppermost and try to help when the girls first went missing. That is what is so frustrating. And it would help if LE would give some details about the search. So puzzling.

Missthegirls,

Have you ever read the case of Sue Ann Ray from Cherokee County, GA. Her ex Quinton Ray was long suspected of killing her and hiding her body on his parents property. It took the GBI almost a year to finally crack the case by having an agent befriend the brother of Quinton and get him talking. Seems his whole family took part in covering up Sue Ann's murder. Quinton and his father are currently serving time in prison for Sue Ann's murder. Maybe the TBI should try the same tactic.

How sad that someone defaced those tombstones and to use Jennifer's name is heartbreaking. So sorry.

Has anyone had confirmation that those searches, tests, etc. mentioned in the comments had taken place? I thought that Missthegirls was unable to find out anything about the extent of the search.

missthegirls
04-13-2008, 01:55 PM
Yes, Joey did take a polygraph and passed it.........but I think that would be easy for him to do.

All I know about the searches is that I have been told by people who were there that they were not allowed to search certain areas of the land and were allowed nowhere near the houses........no search warrants were issued and that they thought they were wasting their time being there if they could not search all of the property.......also I have been told that no ground penetrating radar equipment was used as the police said. So......I'm in a spot of not knowing what to believe from who.....I do feel like that the person who told me this has no reason to lie, yet the ones saying different have alot of reasons to lie.......

I know that what little hope that I had that these people did not harm my children was taken away when they so easily fired those guns and walked to the fence line to say, "We heard shots, we're scared, so we called the police"......if they can lie that easily to a crowd of people who knew they were lying?????? What does that leave me to think? And then to go so far as to write on someone elses loved one's headstone to just try to place blame for that on me..............these people are a piece of work!

Now they have gone so far as to start posting online.........the father and other members of the family are posting not only lies but terrible things about me, my family, my other children and Jennifer on topix.net................I have tried not to respond to their post, but after no means of communication with them for four years it is impossible to sit back and just let them continue to lie about me and my children online....

I can answer that.................I don't know why they put that, they shouldn't have really.

There was a young man, just a few days after they vanished that said that he saw Jennifer a few weeks before she disappeared and that they exchanged hello's............he said that when he asked how she was that she replied, "I'm fine, I'm thinking about moving to FL".............this was the one and only time that anything was ever mentioned about FL and I really think that this guy was confused about who Jennifer is and I'm not really sure that he ever talked to her, it's never been brought up again. LE apparently mentioned this at some time early on and this organization picked that up and ran with it. That's all I know about it......other than, no one has ever found any evidence that she may be in FL or have any reason to be.

This is the way several of the missing children's org's have the girls listed.........the reason that they give is that they have to meet a certain criteria in order to be included, since most of these orgs do not list missing adults and Jennifer was 21 at the time they vanished, they listed the girls this way just to be able to include them. I hate it because it does give people the idea that Jenn took Adrianna and simply left, which is just not the case. I know Jennifer would never have gone this long with no contact with anyone! I believe that the last people to see them are responsible for them not being here and someday, some way.......I'm going to prove it.

Family, Friends Bring Unsolved Case to Public's Attention

Posted: March 21, 2009 10:41 PM

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- One family is striving for clues and closure. Jennifer Wix and her then two-year-old daughter Adrianna vanished without a trace five years ago this month. The family is using that milestone to remind people the case is still unsolved.

In five years, broken hearts have healed some, babies have grown to children, and teenagers have turned into young adults, but two faces in this close-knit community remain frozen in time.

"They're missing and presumed dead," said Kathy Holloway, Jennifer Wix's Mother and Adrianna Wix's Grandmother.

Un-changed in the eyes of those who love them, Jennifer Wix and her daughter seemed to vanish into thin air on March 25th 2004. Nearly five years later, the family is letting go of the notion the two are missing by their own will.

"Jennifer had no reason whatsoever to go anywhere -- away from the people who love her," said Holloway.

The case will never turn cold if the family has its way.

"I keep spreading the fliers around. I keep trying to spread it as far across the world as I can get it because, you never know," said Holloway.

The family still has hope that someone knows something about their missing family members.

"We really need somebody to come forth and tell us what they know ... we live every day," Peggy Calvert, Jennifer Wix's Grandmother and Adrianna Wix's Great Grandmother.

Loved ones believe investigators are turning every stone, so they are turning it over to a higher power and summoning for help.

"Detective Bennett is doing everything in his power to work the case," said Holloway.

Kathy Holloway said she still stops and studies anyone who remotely resembles her missing daughter. Adrianna would be 7-years old.

Several families of missing persons are mentioned in this article as well as our Healing Harbor and Keys to Healing counselor, Duane Bowers.

Holloway and some others have formed the Tennessee Alliance for Families of the Missing, a support group. It is a fledgling organization, with a basic Web site that only lists information about some cases. Holloway said she would like to see the organization grow and become active, perhaps someday even to have chapters across the state.

Holloway nearly lost touch with reality after her daughter Jennifer Wix, 21, and 2-year old granddaughter Adrianna Wix disappeared. Foul play was suspected.

The Robertson County Sheriff's Office is handling the case as a criminal investigation. Holloway strongly believes her daughter's boyfriend, and possibly his father, know something about the disappearances. But no bodies have been found and no charges have been filed.

Holloway became disconnected from almost everything else in her life.

"Everything went to pot, including taking care of my husband and two younger children. I couldn't even go to the store. I slept on the sofa with the porch light on (so if) she came back, running scared from something in the night, I could hear her banging on the door trying to get in."

Holloway searched for her daughter in several states, following up on any clue or lead.

"I lived in my car," she said. "I drove all over Tennessee and Indiana."

One day, a psychic told her that Jennifer and Adrianna were in Missouri, in a town with two names, one of which was "White."

"So I got a map of Missouri and circled every town with the word 'white' in it and went to every one of them," Holloway said. "It was my other two daughters, teenagers, who finally snapped me back to reality. They said, 'Mom, we've lost our sister and we've lost our niece and we miss them so much, but now we've lost you, too.' "

Jolkowski said there are not many local support groups or chapters for families of missing adults.

"I certainly wish there were," she said.

Holloway would still like to see justice done to whomever is responsible for the disappearance of Adrianna and Jennifer, but it is not the most important thing in her life.

"At this point in my life, I really couldn't care less if anyone ever goes to prison," she said. "What I most want is to just find my daughter and granddaughter, so I can bury them properly and respectfully in the Christian way, and there can be a place where I can take them flowers at Christmas and on Mother's Day."

No new updates that I could find. There is still a home site for them. I hope something breaks in this case. It's been too long.

Another year passed and still no word of Jennifer and Adrianna. They have not been forgotten.

Hopefully we may hear something at the Cross Plains Topix site one day soon. http://www.topix.com/forum/city/cross-plains-tn/TPUUFM5Q4VE02GTFE/p2#lastPost
