Autopsy planned on woman found in river
An autopsy is scheduled today for a woman pulled out of the Kinnickinnic River Sunday morning while Milwaukee police continue attempts to confirm her identity.
Police are still seeking information on the woman, whose body was found about 10:30 a.m. Sunday near the 1st Street bridge. Police said she had not been in the river long because her wire-rimmed glasses were still on her face when she was found.
Investigators said this morning it is too early to tell whether any foul play was involved in the woman's death.
She is described as being either white or Hispanic and has a heavier build. She is believed to be between 25 to 35 years old. She is about 5-feet-6-inches tall and approximately 220 pounds. She has shoulder-length black hair, a tattoo on her right forearm and surgical marks on her abdomen.
The victim was wearing a blue T-shirt with the word "soccer" on the front as well as blue jeans with the hems cut off, black gym shoes and eyeglasses, according to police.
Anyone with information about the woman is asked to call Milwaukee police at (414) 935-7360.
