Where Is Kyle Fleischmann?
http://media.amw.com/multimedia/fileRepository/db/472/165/kyle2_cnt.jpg
Kyle's friends and family are working hard to find him.
Kyle Fleischmann is an all-American guy. The handsome, 6'0" tall Elon graduate is well liked, and his friends and family say he's very outgoing and fun to be around. While he attended Elon, Kyle was Vice President of his fraternity where he was actively involved community service initiatives. His friends say Kyle liked to have a good time and had his head on straight. So the nature of his sudden disappearance after a night out with friends and family has Kyle's loved ones fearing the worst.
On Thursday, November 8, Kyle caught Dane Cook's stand-up act at Bobcats Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. Kyle's mother and sister were also in the audience, and when the show ended Kyle and his friends walked to Buckhead Saloon, where he met his family.
Kyle's friends and family left the bar while Kyle stayed back, until the Saloon's security camera captured images of the 24-year-old exciting the bar around 2:20 a.m. Kyle made several phone calls between then and 3:30 a.m. but didn't leave any messages, and hasn't been heard from since. Kyle returned to neither his car nor his home, and all calls that have since been made to his cell have gone straight to his voicemail.
Now, Kyle's family and friends are mounting a search. On November 13, they are conducting a massive effort on the ground, starting at the Buckhead Saloon where he was last seen.
If you know anything about Kyle Fleischmann's whereabouts, call our hotline right now.

CHARLOTTE -- Family and friends of a missing 24-year-old man are asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Kyle Fleischmann went missing Thursday night. He was last seen leaving Buckhead Saloon in uptown after attending the Dane Cook show at Charlotte Bobcats Arena with a group of friends.
http://images.news14.com/media/2007/11/12/images/01kyle_fleischmann2.jpg Kyle Fleischmann
Fleischmann’s friends reportedly went home before he was spotted leaving around 2:30 a.m. His sister says he tried calling her around that time, most likely for a ride home, but she was sleeping. He did make several more phone calls, the last around 3:30 a.m. to a friend, but he didn't leave a message.
His friends and family have made a group on Facebook.com (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6326026817) which now has more than 1,000 members. His father says they're trying to get a hold of security video from Buckhead.
http://images.news14.com/media/2007/11/12/images/02kyle_new2.jpg Kyle Fleischmann
“Right now, our main concern is getting as much support from the police for getting the videotapes and things we need to get -- cell towers to find out where he made his phone calls from -- and hopefully they find him alive,” Richard Fleischmann said.
Fleischmann is 6 feet tall with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with jeans. If you think you've seen him or have any information on his whereabouts, call 911, (336) 262-6958 or (704) 258-7782.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WGHP) – Students from Elon University have driven to Charlotte to help find one of their former classmates.
Kyle Fleischmann, 24, was last seen outside the Buckhead Saloon early Friday morning. He had reportedly gone out the night before with friends.
Fleischmann graduated from Elon in 2006. His family and many of his friends met outside the bar Tuesday afternoon, fanning out in a seven-block radius of where Kyle last made a cell phone call.
"For him not to communicate with anyone after this much period of time, raises some serious concerns in my mind about his safety," said Dick Fleischmann, Kyle's father.
His parents' biggest fear is that he might have been killed and they may never find him.

This is yet another very sad case of a young person disappearing after a night out. It is so very frightening to think that our sons and daughters cannot enjoy an evening out in their late teen , early adult years and know with reasonable certainty that they will come home safely. It is happening now at alarming rate. As a Mom of a 15 yr old, i worry about the upcoming years, well, even now, for that matter. However, we are fairly protective now with her, and we have been fortunate that a night out to her is still going with a group of friends to dinner and a movie, chauffered by adults, and then having a sleepover afterwards. Dating is not a part of the picture yet. But I know as she gets older, she will naturally branch out, spread her wings, and go out more places, more often.. I just have to rely on the moral compass we taught her to guide her, and as far as things she cant control, like situations like Kyle's, all we can do is pray and teach them safety measures. One important one I have really emphasized with my daughter, is the "buddy system". That goes for any age group, it is true that there is safety in numbers. I live in North Carolina, just 2 hours away from Charlotte, my mom lives there. I know the area well, that Kyle was last seen in. I pray for his family.....God Bless Them.....God Bless Kyle.........May you find him soon.

Search continues for missing 24-year-old
December 3, 2007
Kyle Fleischmann
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The family of a missing 24-year-old Charlotte man has hired a private investigator and they are now working under a theory that Kyle Fleischmann did not walk away from the Uptown area.
Fleischmann disappeared last month after leaving the Buckhead Saloon in Uptown Charlotte.
Based upon his cell phone coverage, the family thinks Fleischmann didn’t go too far. They believe someone must have talked to him after he left Buckhead and they are asking whoever might have talked to him to come forward. So far no one has.
The family also thinks Fleischmann might have talked to people who attended comedian Dane Cook’s show in Charlotte and possibly might have gotten into a car with someone who was in town for that show.
Another vigil is planned for Sunday night at 4:30 outside Buckhead.

No new leads in search for missing Elon grad
Alex Kreitman / Times-News
December 4, 2007 2:52 PM
Friends and family of 2006 Elon University graduate Kyle Fleischmann continue to search for the 24 year old, but no new leads or information have been uncovered.
Fleischmann went missing early in the morning Nov. 9. He was last seen leaving Buckhead Saloon in downtown Charlotte. He placed three phone calls without leaving voicemails and has not been heard from since.
Since his disappearance, friends and family have conducted searches in Charlotte, but no clues were discovered.
Those close to Fleischmann have started the Kyle Fleischmann Foundation to raise money and awareness of the search.
“The Kyle Fleischmann Foundation has pooled together resources from all over the country to spread the word about Kyle’s story and raise money to help support the search efforts surrounding his case,” said Daniel Scagnelli, Fleischmann’s best friend and spokesperson for the Fleischmann Family.
There is a $25,000 reward for any information leading to the whereabouts of Fleischmann.
The case has received national media attention with segments on FOX News, America’s Most Wanted and CNN.
Fleischmann’s family and friends have employed private investigative firms, used scent smelling dog crews and aerial search and rescue efforts. The help of C.A.R.E. of Charlotte for “water recovery” efforts and even psychic detectives have also been used.
More than 66,000 people have joined the social networking site called Facebook to join the search.
“Donors have contributed significant amounts of money helping us move toward our goal of $100,000 by Christmas,” Scagnelli said. “The money is used to post a $25,000 reward, hire private investigators, fund search efforts, donate back to the organizations that have so kindly helped The KFF, and will be used to expand upon the foundation and help other missing persons in the future.”
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 704-334-1600.

Missing for Two Months
It's been exactly two months since a Charlotte man vanished without a trace.
Kyle Fleischmann was last seen leaving a bar in Center City.
While the search for Fleischmann is no longer front page news, it is a daily reality for his family who are still getting tips.
Some of them are coming from very far places.
Dick Fleishmann says he knows the longer this goes, the less likely Kyle will be found alive.
He said: "There's no question he got into some sort of vehicle whether it was on his own accord for a ride home or whatever, we don't know. Maybe someday we will."

I'm hoping that Kyle's family gets some answers soon, but I'm afraid it won't be good news. I too think he must have gotten in a car with someone, but feel he's no longer with us. It's really sad to think this happened but I just don't think he ran off. Nothing about him seems like he would've done that. :(

Missing Man's Father Says White Van May Have Been Involved In Disappearance
POSTED: 4:50 pm EST January 9, 2008
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two months ago Wednesday, Kyle Fleischman disappeared from uptown Charlotte.
Eyewitness News spoke with his father, who says he now wants people who were there that night to look back and try to remember if they saw a large, white paneled van.
Dick Fleischman said a psychic out of New York called him before Christmas to say she envisioned him in a large white vehicle. His family is now wondering if Gary Hilton, the man accused of killing a hiker in Georgia, was involved in his son's disappearance.
Hilton was driving a white sport utility vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.

I agree with you on a possible link between Kyle and Justin. Earlier this evening, I was thinking about Justin goes missing on 11/1 from Gwinnett County, GA and then Kyle on 11/9 from Charlotte, NC.
Two guys that look to be in good physical condition. I do hope that LE in both locations are looking at a possible link and comparing notes.

CATCHING UP WITH ... RICHARD FLEISCHMANN
Searching for son, with few clues
On Nov. 9, Kyle Fleischmann vanished after an evening with friends in uptown Charlotte. Hundreds of people spent weeks looking for the 24-year-old; the search got some national coverage. Kyle is still missing. Staff writer Jennifer Rothacker spoke with his father, Richard Fleischmann.
Q. Any new development ? Just a couple of leads through Crime Stoppers that (police) are investigating. Two of them more than scratch the surface and might have some answers.
Q. What are the leads? I really can't (say). The police don't want anything to get in their way.
Q. You've said before that you believe Kyle is deceased. Do you still? I do. No doubt in mind.
Q. Why? I can't believe he's alive. He would be in communication with us.
Q. Do you have any theories on what happened? One theory is he was walking down the street, well dressed, and it's possible a group of people wanted money or his ATM card. He didn't have either. Another theory: He got into the wrong cab.
Q. Do you think his case will be solved? The more time (that goes by), the harder it is. If somebody did see something, they now have had more time to cover the evidence.
Q. Are you still actively searching? We were just out in First Ward. It's an area where we all searched, but this person called in (to Crime Stoppers) and said to look in a different location. The private investigator was out there for seven hours recently and came up with nothing.
Q. Do you still have lots of volunteer searchers? It's dying down. We want to keep it to the professionals. During a search about a month and a half ago, the (volunteer) searchers got in the middle of a gang shooting.
Q. Is your life returning to near normal? I've been back at work now for about three weeks. It's not easy.
My wife has breast cancer and is under chemo until May. She's gotten very thin. Not because of the cancer, but because of the stress over Kyle.
Q. A foundation was set up to help cover search costs. How much was raised? We have filed for (nonprofit) status, which would allow everyone who contributed since Nov. 19 a charitable tax deduction. I don't want to give a dollar figure. But I'll spend whatever I have to.
Have information?
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. The Fleischmanns are offering a $25,000 reward.

I may have miss read something, did one of the articles say he left his black p-coat and credit card in the bar? It would seem very odd that he would leave these items behind. I wonder if he just stepped out of the bar to make a call or something planning to go back in. Please correct me if I am wrong about this. My prayers are with him and his family.

Paper: New Details in Kyle Fleischmann Case
Last Edited: Monday, 03 Mar 2008, 8:23 AM EST
FOX8 News
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WGHP) -- New details about Kyle Fleishmann's disappearance suggest the Elon graduate went to a pizza parlor after leaving the Buckhead Saloon on Nov. 9, according to the Charlotte Observer.
According to the paper, he was at the Buckhead Salloon until it closed. Kyle then went to the Fuel Pizza restaurant, but investigators are not sure if he was alone.
According to the Charlotte Observer, Joe Paonessa, a private investigator Fleischmann's father hired, got the tip last week while combing the center city for clues about his son's disappearance.
Workers inside the pizza restaurant told Paonessa that Fleischmann was in the restaurant before it closed about 3 a.m., according to the paper.
Fleischmann's father, Richard, told the paper he believes his son is dead, although Police are continuing their investigation

Missing man was reported seen
But police say account by Fuel Pizza employee couldn't be corroborated
VICTORIA CHERRIE VCHERRIE@CHARLOTTEOBSERVER.COM
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police on Monday acknowledged they talked to an employee who reportedly saw Kyle Fleischmann inside the Fuel Pizza restaurant at Sixth and College streets on the morning he disappeared last November.
But police said they were unable to corroborate the employee's account so they have not publicized the information. The employee's description of the man's clothing also did not match what Fleischmann was wearing, said Julie Hill, a police spokeswoman.
"We have talked to hundreds of people ... including Fuel Pizza employees," said Hill. "They talked to every business, taxi cab, you name it. They have canvassed all over the place."
Fleischmann's father, Richard, and a private investigator told the Observer Sunday that workers had seen Fleischmann at Fuel Pizza before it closed at 3 a.m. They heard that last week while talking to workers at the restaurant, according to the private investigator, Joe Paonessa.
Kyle Fleischmann went with a group of friends to the Buckhead Saloon for drinks late Thursday, Nov. 8. His friends left between 11 p.m. Thursday and 1 a.m. Friday, but Fleischmann stayed.
Fleischmann called his sister, Noelle, and hung up without leaving a message about 2:20 a.m., Paonessa said. He left Buckhead alone a few minutes later.
Fleischmann began making more calls around 3 a.m., but got no one. Cell phone signals indicate he was still in the uptown area, Paonessa said.
Fleischmann was discovered missing after he failed to show up for work Nov. 9. Anyone with information should call police at 704-336-3949 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

The Parents of Kyle Fleischmann Honor His Birthday By Doubling Reward Amount
The family of Kyle Fleischmann donated $25,000 toward the reward fund in honor of his 25th birthday on Sept. 24. This donation doubles the existing reward money to $50,000.
“Tomorrow was one of our happiest days 25 years ago,” said Dick Fleischmann, Kyle’s father. “Now, tomorrow will be one of the most difficult days of our lives. We will remember Kyle’s birthday with mixed feelings of happiness and sadness as we continue to miss Kyle each and every day.”

***NEW UPDATES 10/15/2008***
UPDATE ON INVESTIGATION: It has been determined that the girl that was last seen dancing with Kyle and then seen leaving with her boyfriend and two of his male friends are no longer persons of interest (video seen on CMPD). The focus is on FUEL PIZZA's patrons who were there between 2:25-closing We have video which shows Kyle 18ft from the entrance to Fuel. Based on his debit card history he had visited Fuel before when he spent time uptown. The reciepts from Fuel are in the hands of CMPD, we are requesting to let the family's PI follow up on them. CMPD has had them since July, maybe with the one year appoaching we may get the opportunity to allow more involvement. Its been difficult, its possible KYLE may have gone with people he met to an after hours club HOM, they have excellent cameras, they were never asked to be viewed; their video has now has been taped over. Kyle's situation is getting more difficult by the day as time moves on and evidence has become harder to come by.
Kyle's last cell phone pings were in the same area as this crime scene. We will be looking into any possible connections:

New witness located in Kyle Fleischmann case
11:19 AM EST on Tuesday, November 4, 2008
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A year after his son vanished from uptown, Kyle Fleischmann’s father says his son is partly to blame, but, he says, so are others.
Investigators are finally talking to what could be a key witness in the case. NewsChannel 36 spoke to that witness, the Fleischmann family and the lead detective.
The story was everywhere last November. The 24-year-old vanished after a night out drinking with friends.
Hundreds helped police search near the uptown Charlotte bar where Fleischmann was last seen... but nothing.
“Did you ever think you'd still be here a year later still not knowing?” NewsChannel 36 asked.
“No, absolutely not,” said Dick Fleischmann.
Concerned about the police investigation, Fleischmann's parents hired a former FBI agent turned private investigator to help find out what happened to their son, who they believe is dead.
“There could have been a more thorough, a more competent investigation,” his dad told NewsChannel 36.
The Fleischmanns’ own investigation uncovered a witness the police never found. They shared exclusive details with us about a pizza employee who they say might have made a difference in this case -- if only.
"We all think if only he'd called me, if only, a million what if's,” said Kyle’s mom, Barbara.
We know Kyle made six final phone calls on his cell phone between 2:22 and 3:28 that morning, all traced to four blocks in uptown.
"It’s a pretty simple area to focus on to find out what happened to him," Barbara said.
Video discovered nearly three months after Kyle's disappearance appears to capture him walking towards Fuel Pizza -- one of the only places open that time of night.
"Probably should have been on this a lot sooner,” Dick Fleischmann said.
He’s talking about a Fuel Pizza worker who claims he served the 24-year-old that night.
"He came in alone. He ordered his pizza. I put it through the oven. He went straight to the bathroom. He came back out. He grabbed his food,” the employee said.
He says he clearly remembers Kyle coming in that night.
"Like I told the detective. I would bet my life on it. I know who he was. I saw him that night. I remember exactly what he ate," he said.
He says he told his manager that story almost a year ago and then moved away. He told Detective Tuttle last month. The lead detective in the case says he's been in Fuel Pizza about a dozen times since last November.
The detective told us, "We have talked with the employees that were working that night."
But he admits not this one.
The pizza employee feels, "It probably would have made a difference. It probably would have."
Tuttle says the Fuel Pizza angle hasn't lead anywhere yet.
"We have no indication anyone at Fuel Pizza was involved in his disappearance. It’s a true missing person’s case in that we really just don't know what has happened to him," Tuttle said.
So he took NewsChannel 36 back to that night, retracing Kyle's steps.
We started at the Dilworth area home where he left his car, met up with friends and took a cab uptown. They ate at Phil's Deli, went to the Time Warner arena for a Dane cook concert, then to Buckhead Saloon for drinks. That’s the last place he was with friends and surveillance shows him there. One by one his friends headed home until he was the last one left at the bar.
His parents and police believe with only a few dollars left at the end of the night, he needed a ride. His jacket and debit card were left behind in the bar.
Daniel Scagnelli had been with his best friend that night and missed the last known call Kyle Fleischman ever made.
"It was in the middle of the night. I was asleep at that point. I had a missed call. He didn't leave a message,” Scagnelli said. “It's a lot of, at this point, what can we do? Just put one foot in front of the other, take it day by day, try to find out what happened to Kyle."
Police haven't ruled anything out.
The lead detective said, “He could have gotten in the wrong car, could have gotten in the wrong cab, could have tried to walk out of the uptown area and met up with the wrong person at the wrong time."
For the first time since he disappeared, Dick Fleishmann says he’s realized his son is partly to blame for what’s happened.
“Certainly some of the blame has to go to him. He made a bad decision. Having said that it doesn't give the right to someone to kill him," he said.
Police say at this point they need someone to come forward with information and the family is counting on it.
There is a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. The family has started a foundation in Kyle Fleischmann's honor and this weekend is hosting a benefit golf tournament in honor of the one year anniversary of his disappearance.
His parents say this weekend will be a big milestone for them and hope it brings healing.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One of Charlotte's most notorious unsolved missing persons cases is getting some big time help.
"America's Most Wanted" is back in town talking to a witness Newschannel 36 first dug up in the Kyle Fleischmann case.A correspondent for the show, Angeline Hartman told us, "We're actually surprised that it's gone on this long." She says they thought for sure the case of the young professional who disappeared from uptown in November, 2007 would have been solved by now, but it hasn't.
"We've been watching this entire time so we thought it's time to come back," Hartmann told us. "There’s a lot of weird elements in this story."
While in Charlotte, AMW is talking to police and to a witness Newschannel 36 found: a Fuel Pizza worker believed to be one of the last people to see Kyle alive.
"Our show is successful because people do pick up the phone and make the call, one year later ten years later, but they do pick up the phone."
That's exactly what Kyle's best friend Daniel Scagnelli is hoping for. He’s the one who put Kyle's story on Facebook, a first in missing persons cases, and one of the things that got AMW's attention.
"They continue to be active in the search for him even if they're not out on the streets searching for him so that's an interesting thing that makes this a little bit different," Hartmann said.
The crew was in town for three days shooting around uptown Charlotte.
They're not sure yet when the Fleischmann piece will air.

This case has always been dear to my heart. A young man does not just vanish into the night. Someone knows something. Young people go out drinking all the time. It gives no one the right to kidnap them and God forbid, take their life for any reason. Praying there will be some answers in this case soon.

Human remains found investigated as homicide
December 30, 2008
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A worker found human remains at a construction site on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Now, police say the case is being investigated as a homicide.
Police say a construction worker discovered the remains along Dixie River Road.
A skull and some additional bones were brought to the Medical Examiner. Based on a report, the victim is likely a white male between the ages of 18 and 30. Based on the condition of the skeletal remains, the time of death can only be estimated as more than one year and less than five years, police said.
Investigators are searching through all of their open missing person files to see if they can identify the remains.
One of Charlotte's most notorious unsolved missing persons cases is Kyle Fleischmann. The young professional disappeared from Uptown in November 2007.
Police say it could be days, weeks, or even months before they’re able to identify the bones.

Police: Remains not those of Kyle Fleischmann
05:47 PM EST on Tuesday, December 30, 2008
By ALEX REED / NewsChannel 36
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police say human remains found near a construction site in southwest Charlotte belong to a murder victim, but not Kyle Fleischmann.
On Tuesday, the medical examiner released a description of the victim that matches the Fleischmann case almost perfectly. Investigators looked at the possibility this week, but we're told that police are absolutely positive the remains found last week are not those of Fleischmann.
Several electricians stumbled on the human bones on Christmas Eve.
"They just started walking down a game trail, like a deer trail, and they just stumbled across the bones," said Officer Bob Fey with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The area along Dixie River Road near Interstate 485 and Steele Creek Road was blocked off until officers and firefighters could search the 15-acre construction site Christmas morning, but no more evidence was found.
"There's a very good chance that any other remains there could have been scattered by animals," said Fey.
The exact cause of death is not being released, but the medical examiner has determined the bones belong to a man who did not die a natural death.
"We're ruling it as a homicide. I can't get into a cause of death right now," Fey said.
The medical examiner says the victim is likely a white male between the ages of 18 and 30, who was killed sometime between 2002 and 2007.
But for investigators, that information doesn't narrow it down enough to identify the victim.
"Right now we've got just under 30 cases that fit this demographic," said Fey.
Investigators are asking for the public's help. Anyone with information about the case should call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

Human remains mistaken for missing Elon alumnus
by Emily Silva
January 13, 2009
Emily Silva
Senior Reporter
Human remains found near Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Christmas Eve were intially thought to be those of Kyle Fleischmann, a 2006 Elon graduate who has been missing since Nov. 9, 2007. But after further study, police said that the remains were of another murder victim, not Fleischmann.
A construction worker discovered a human skull, and police units later found additional bones in the surrounding area. The victim has not yet been identified, but police have said it was a homicide case. A medical examiner determined that the remains are from a male aged 18 to 30 who was killed sometime between 2002 and 2007. The Charlotte police say they have about 30 cases that could match the description of the remains.
“They just started walking down a game trail, like a deer trail, and they just stumbled across the bones,” Officer Bob Fey with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told WCNC News Station in Charlotte.
Fleischmann was last seen leaving Buckhead Saloon in Charlotte at 2:20 a.m. on Nov. 9. The evening of Nov. 8 started with Fleischmann attending a stand-up comedy act by Dane Cook at Bobcats’ Stadium in Charlotte.
Fleischmann, along with friends and family, went to Buckhead Saloon afterward. Security cameras showed Fleischmann leaving around 2:20 a.m.
Recently, a witness from Fuel Pizza in Charlotte said Fleischmann went to the restaurant after leaving the bar around 2:25 a.m. The witness said Fleischmann entered alone and no one saw him leave because the restaurant was crowded.
Fleischmann was originally from Charlotte, N.C., and was a business administration major at Elon. He was vice president of Kappa Alpha Order and enjoyed volunteer work with the Special Olympics and the Boys and Girls Club. He had been working at Maximum Health Care Services in Charlotte around the time he disappeared.

For a second time, America's Most Wanted will feature the mysterious disappearance of 25-year-old Kyle Fleischmann and ask the country for tips to his whereabouts.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Det. Johnnie Tuttle plans to travel to Washington D.C. for the show, which airs on Saturday at 9 p.m. He and others will be manning tip lines if anyone calls in after watching the episode. Fleischmann also was featured on a Dec. 1, 2007, episode.
The Elon University graduate was last seen near the Buckhead Saloon in uptown on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007.
According to police, Fleischmann was there with a group of friends. They left between 11 p.m. Thursday and 1 a.m. Friday, but Fleischmann stayed.
He called his sister, Noelle, but hung up without leaving a message at about 2:20 a.m. He made more calls around 3 a.m., but no one answered. Cell phone signals indicate he was still in the uptown area.
Fleischmann was discovered after he failed to show up for work Nov. 9.
Though there are thousands of missing persons reported each year, far fewer disappear and are not heard from, police say. Fleischmann's case has garnered the spotlight because of an intense and public search mounted by family and friends.
Since his disappearance, supporters started the Kyle FleischmannFoundation, which focuses on missing adults. The foundation has held a golf tournament, banquet and candlelight vigil.
Anyone with information about Fleischmann can call CMPD detectives at 704-432-TIPS or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

Police were searching the site Friday near 16th and Caldwell Streets.WSOC-TV reported that agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms went to the site early Friday with cadaver-sniffing dogs. A judge approved a search warrant allowing the examination. The site was still under construction when Fleischmann disappeared.Investigators thought they might have gotten a break in the case last December when a construction worker found human remains at a site near Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Those remains were later determined not to belong to Fleischmann. In the days following Fleischmann's disappearance, police studied grainy surveillance video that showed him walking out the door of the bar and toward Tryon Street, but he hasn't been seen since.Fleischmann’s family hired a private detective to join the search.Fleischmann father, Dick Fleischmann, has said he believed his son had been a crime victim and he and his wife need information to put things to rest.A reward for information about Fleischmann's whereabouts is still active.

Feds Take Over Search for Elon Grad
By NC WANTED Staff
ALL COUNTIES — A search Friday for the remains for missing Charlotte man Kyle Fleischmann turned up nothing, reports WSOC-TV in Charlotte, but it did reveal an interesting development in the investigation.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives initiated the search by issuing a search warrant for an undeveloped construction site. They searched there early Friday with cadaver-sniffing dogs.
It was unclear what prompted the search or why the federal agency was conducting it. According to various media reports out of Charlotte, Fleischmann's father, Dick Fleischmann, confirmed that the ATF is now handling the investigation, but wouldn't elaborate.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department had been working the case since the 24-year-old disappeared from uptown Charlotte in November 2007.

From Earlier NC WANTED Reports:
The search for a missing North Carolina man continues.
Candlelit vigils for Kyle Fleischmann, 24, have been held in dozens of locations, including New York's Times Square, Denver, Washington, Charlotte and Raleigh.
His case has also appeared on America's Most Wanted.
Fleischmann is the Elon graduate who disappeared from the Buckhead Saloon in Charlotte.
In one vigil, six girls stood outside a bar in downtown Raleigh Sunday with tears in their eyes for their missing friend. They attended Elon with him and were only a few of the many people who are missing Kyle.
“We really want to keep his name and his story alive,” said Suzanne Roberts, Fleischmann’s friend.
Surveillance camera video from the Charlotte bar shows Fleischmann the last time he was seen.
Internet sites have created communities dedicated to finding him. Despite the effort, every day that goes by gets a little tougher.
“It’s challenging because you can only lead yourself to believe the worst, so it has been hard” Roberts said.
Daniel Scagnelli is Kyle Fleischmann’s best friend. Both attended Elon University and Kyle was the best man in Daniel’s wedding. Knowing Kyle as well as he does, Daniel fears the worst. He hasn’t heard from his best friend in over a month.
It is obvious that Kyle is a social guy. Any pictures you can find on his Myspace or Facebook pages show a guy who likes to hve a good time and enjoyed his friends. Those closest to him say Kyle is very much a people person.
“Generous, outgoing and kind,” says Scagnelli. “Didn’t like to be alone. Always liked to be around people.”
Kyle was last seen in the early morning hours of Friday, November 9th, in Uptown Charlotte. He had met Daniel and some friends Thursday evening for some drinks at the Buckhead Saloon. Daniel and his wife eventually left but Kyle stayed behind.
“He kind of hung behind to hang out with some girls he knew,” says Scagnelli.
Kyle was last seen on surveillance video leaving the Buckhead Saloon around 2:20am. He left a black pea coat and his credit card behind. According to Scagnellie, Kyle made two calls about an hour after he left the bar. One call was to Daniel, the other to his roommate. Kyle didn’t leave a message. He has not been seen or heard from since.
In the days following his disappearance, Kyle’s friends and family found they had little to go on. They searched the area where they believe he made his last call, based off the phone signal, but nothing was found. The females Kyle hung out with that evening said there were rumors of a party in the hotel next to the bar.
“They had mentioned something about a party at the Holiday Inn and he may have gone there,” Scagnelli says. “That didn’t pan out.”
After hearing about Kyle’s disappearance, people who were at the Buckhead Saloon that evening came forward but no one remembered seeing him there. Investigators have hit a dead end.
Over the last four weeks his friends and family have worked tirelessly conducting searches, holding vigils and organizing fundraising events, hoping to keep Kyle’s case in the public eye. His story has gained national attention, being feature on America’s Most Wanted, along with several news stations and newspapers in the Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham area. His friends also started a “Help Find Kyle” page on Facebook in addition to the website, www.helpfindkyle.com (http://www.helpfindkyle.com). Today, there are almost 70,000 members.
Exactly one month after he disappeared, vigils were held in dozens of locations including Charlotte, Raleigh, Denver, Washington and even Times Square in New York City.
“The more thoughts and prayers the better,” says Scagnelli. “It’s been hard. It’s been even harder on the family.”
Kyle’s family is working to find answers, but they are fighting a different battle. Shortly before his disappeared, Kyle’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Daniel says Kyle was in good spirits, saying they caught it early.
“At that point they didn’t think she would have to go through chemo,” he says.
Kyle’s mom has had several doctor’s appointments and one surgery and Kyle was going to take off work to spend time with her. Knowing he had plans to be by his mother’s side raises suspicions of foul play.
“At this point, we assume the worst but hope for the best,” Scagnelli says. “I would love for him to be in Mexico with a pretty girl. One the other side, you have to be realistic.”
The night he disappeared, Kyle was wearing a black shirt, jeans and black dress shoes. He is 24 years old. He has green eyes, brown hair and is six feet tall, weighing 180 pounds.

Federal agency now investigating Fleischmann case
by Margeaux Corby, March 18, 2009
Early last week, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives initiated a search for the remains of Elon alumnus Kyle Fleischmann in an undeveloped construction site in Charlotte but revealed nothing.
The ATF searched the site with cadaver- sniffing dogs and, according to N.C. Wanted, Fleischmann’s father, Dick Fleischmann, confirmed the ATF is now handling the case, although no further explanation was provided.
Fleischmann disappeared from uptown Charlotte’s Buckhead Saloon on Nov. 2, 2007 around 2:20 a.m.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department investigated video footage from the Saloon the night he vanished and a massive search party was launched in the surrounding area in the weeks that followed Fleischmann’s disappearance. Volunteers included the brothers of Kappa Alpha Order (of which Fleischmann), Elon students and community members, Charlotte volunteers, Public Safety Dogs, Inc. and the Charlotte Fire Department.
Fleischmann’s disappearance has been followed nationally by television shows such as "America’s Most Wanted" and candlelight vigils have been held in cities nationally, as well as on Elon’s campus.
The Kyle Fleischmann Foundation has established numerous Web sites, events and organizations in order to fuel public interest in the case and fund the ongoing search. The Facebook group, Help Find Kyle Fleischman-Missing!, has more than 50,000 members more than a year later.
"At this point we are trying to do what we can to keep Kyle’s story alive and get it back in the media," said Daniel Scagnelli, a close friend of Fleischmann’s and Elon alumnus from January 2008. "Students can help by continuing to spread the word, encouraging everyone to make donations and keeping the hope alive."
For any information regarding Fleischmann’s whereabouts or disappearance, call N.C. Wanted at 1-800-439-2683, The Kyle Fleischmann Foundation at (919)-251-6156 or visit www.helpkyle.com (http://www.helpkyle.com).

Saturday: Kyle Fleischmann Case Update
By NC WANTED Staff

ALL COUNTIES — Saturday, NC WANTED brings you the latest in the case of Kyle Fleischmann, a popular Elon graduate who disappeared in November 2007.
Kyle, 24, was last seen in the early morning hours of Friday, November 9, 2007, in uptown Charlotte. He had met some friends Thursday evening for drinks at the Buckhead Saloon. Kyle stayed behind after his friends had gone home and surveillance video shows him leaving the bar around 2:20 a.m. He left a black pea coat and his credit card behind.
Surveillance video at Fuel Pizza shows him buying pizza about 5 minutes after leaving the bar. That is the last time he was seen.
Kyle made two calls to friends about an hour after he left the bar. He didn’t leave a message, and has not been heard from since.
"Everybody went home at different times and the next morning Kyle didn't show up for work... so people started worrying," said Kyle's friend Bryan Padgette. "That's not Kyle at all. He's never done anything like this before."
In the days following his disappearance, Kyle’s friends and family found they had little to go on. They searched the area where they believe he made his last call, based off the phone signal, but nothing was found. Investigators tried to talk to anyone who saw Kyle leave the bar that night, but all trails have led nowhere.
Since his disappearance, candlelit vigils have been held in dozens of locations, including New York's Times Square, Denver, Washington, Charlotte and Raleigh. His case has appeared on NC WANTED and America's Most Wanted.
Internet sites have created communities dedicated to finding him. Despite the effort, every day that goes by gets a little tougher.
"I have no reason to believe that he is where he wants to be, doing what he wants to do. I believe that it's very possible something bad has happened to him," Padgette said.
Last month, various media outlets reported that a search for Kyle's remains was underway, signaling a break in the case.
A federal judge has now sealed all case documents and moved the investigation under federal authority.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives initiated a search by issuing a search warrant for an undeveloped construction site. They searched there with cadaver-sniffing dogs, but nothing was found.
It was unclear what prompted the search or why the federal agency was conducting it. Federal involvement could mean that the case involves a federal crime or that a federal informant has come forward with new information.
There is a $50,000 reward for information on Kyle's whereabouts. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, jeans and black dress shoes. He's about 6 feet tal, 180 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

I have few questions here and I hope someone can help me a bit.
First of all I am wondering if there is any possible way to watch AMW episode of Kyle somewhere online? Since I'm from Europe and I don't have any channel which broadcasted it I wasn't able to see it but I would really love to. I'm especially interested in the 31th January 2009 one. But also in the one from 1st December 2007.
Next thing I'm really trying to figure out and have no luck is which Fuel Pizza he went into? I was almost sure it is the Fuel Pizza Cafe on N College St which is only few steps away from Buckhead Saloon (on the right). But here in this thread I saw a map you posted and there Fuel Pizza seems much more far away and on the left. It is really confusing me and I hope someone can clear that up for me.
And the last thing that came on my mind today is that I believe I read somewhere a long time ago that Kyle called that night to his dad's office. Am I rememebering that right? I'm not even sure anymore as after that I didn't read that anywhere else. I'm wondering how everyone is explaining that? It definitely makes no sense to call to the office in the middle of the night.
Thanks for all answers:)
