Atlanta Police Issue Alert For Missing Girl

ATLANTA -- Police issued a Levi's Call Wednesday morning for a missing 5-month-old girl.

Levi's Call is Georgia's version of the nationwide Amber Alert.

The alert said Precious Diamond Spencer may have been abducted by someone driving a 1990 silver Honda Accord with Georgia license plate ADH-6078.

The child may be in extreme danger, according to police.

The child, 6-month-old Precious Diamond Spencer, was last seen in a 1990 Honda with a Georgia license plate number of AVH 6078.

Authorities said Precious Diamond Spencer was last seen May 24 at a home on Daisy Drive in Decatur.

Polcie said the baby's mother, Alisha Spencer, 24, was found dead Monday at 1960 Sims Street in Southwest Atlanta.

The child was last seen riding in a 1990 silver or tan Honda Accord with Georgia tag AVH6078.

Police said the child is believed to be in extreme danger. Police did not say who they believe took the child.

If you see the vehicle, you are urged to call 911 immediately.

I wonder when the baby was actually taken? So they found the mothers body Monday. (I was thinking today was Tuesday) Memorial Day has my days messed up.

Dead Woman's Daughter Kidnapped

ATLANTA -- Police searched Wednesday for a kidnapped 5-month-old girl, the daughter of a woman found dead on Monday.

The alert said Precious Diamond Spencer may have been abducted by someone driving a 1990 silver Honda Accord with Georgia license plate ADH-6078.

Police found the car Wednesday morning on Glenwood Ave. in DeKalb County.

The little girl was last seen at 3688 Daisy Drive in Decatur.

The child may be in extreme danger, according to officials. Police also are investigating the death of her mother, Alisha L. Spencer, 24.

Investigators issued a Levi's Call Wednesday for Precious Diamond Spencer.

Authorities said the child and her mother, Alisha Spencer, 24, were last seen May 24 at a home on Daisy Drive in Decatur.

Police said the owner of a property on Sims Street in Southwest Atlanta found Alisha Spencer's body. Police said she had been shot in the head and back.

Investigators said they had located the 1990 silver or tan Honda Accord they were looking for. It was not immediately clear where police found the vehicle.

Police said the child is believed to be in extreme danger. Investigators did not say who they believe took the child.

An alert sent by police said investigators found Precious Diamond Spencer in DeKalb County. Police did not release her condition.

Authorities issued a Levi's Call earlier Wednesday.

Authorities said the child and her mother, Alisha Spencer, 24, were last seen May 24 at a home on Daisy Drive in Decatur.

Baby of Murdered Mom Found Safe

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Police Department has canceled a missing child alert for a baby girl after the infant was found safe in DeKalb County Wednesday afternoon.

Police issued an alert for the child, 6-month-old Precious Diamond Spencer, Wednesday morning when they could not determine her whereabouts after her mother was found dead.

The baby was last seen in Decatur Saturday in a 1990 Honda. The Honda was reported missing, but turned up in the area of Glenwood Avenue and I-285 Wednesday morning. Crime scene technicians combed the vehicle for evidence.

According to police, the child's mother, 24-year-old Alisha L. Spencer, died of gunshot wounds at an abandoned building on Sims Street in Atlanta Monday. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.

Police have released few details about the mother.

The child reportedly requires weekly medical treatment.

DECATUR, Ga. -- A baby, reported missing after her mother was found murdered, was found safe and sound Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities located Precious Diamond Spencer at the home of a friend in on Daisy Drive in Decatur.

Alicia Spencer was friends with the woman who lives in that home, and sometimes, left the baby in care of that family. That is what she did Sunday, and then Monday, Alicia Spencer was found shot to death in southeast Atlanta. Police feared whoever killed Alicia, might have had the baby.

Precious was safe in the arms of her grandmother and aunt on Wednesday afternoon, two days after her mother was found in a vacant building on Sims Street in southeast Atlanta.

"The mother of the child is deceased, right now," according to Atlanta Police Officer James Polite at an earlier news conference, announcing the search for the child. "A vehicle was just found at an unknown location, and the child is missing. We're very, very concerned about this child."

The 24-year-old mother was last seen over the weekend. On Wednesday, police found her Honda Accord abandoned on Glenwood Avenue, but with no sign of Precious until mid-afternoon. It turned out the baby was right where Alicia left her Sunday at a friend's house in Decatur.

Emotions ran high when the baby's father, who has two other children with the victim was not permitted to leave with them. Detectives were able to calm him down before the family left for police headquarters.

Robert Bess says he is the father of three of Alicia Spencer's four children. Police said that since the two were not married, they needed proof on birth certificates before they could let him leave with the children, so they all went to the DeKalb County Police Headquarters to work that out.

Tamisha Suarez is the person who lives in the home on Daisy Drive, and she has been talking to police as well -- she is the last person known to have seen Alicia Spencer alive on Sunday. Suarez said her children were the ones who saw the Levi's Call for Precious on television, and called police.

DECATUR, Ga. -- DeKalb County police said Thursday that a woman has been charged with killing a mother and kidnapping her 5-month-old baby.

Tamesha Suarez was charged with one count of murder and one count of kidnapping in the killing of Alisha Spencer, 24.

Police said Spencer's body was found earlier this week in the Suarez home on Daisy Drive in Decatur.

A Levi's Call was issued Wednesday for Spencer's 5-month-old daughter. The baby was found safe Wednesday afternoon.

Police investigating the death of a woman and the kidnapping of her baby filed charges on Thursday against a 33-year-old woman who lived with the victims.

Tameisha Suarez appears to be the only person involved in the crimes, DeKalb County police spokesman Marcus Hodge said, although he said the case remains under investigation.

Suarez is accused of murdering 24-year-old Alisha L. Spencer, who was found dead of gunshot wounds Monday afternoon outside a house in southwest Atlanta. Spencer's child, 5-month-old Precious Diamond Spencer, had been missing since Saturday night but was located Wednesday. Hodge said Suarez is accused of kidnapping the infant.

Authorities believe Alisha Spencer was killed in DeKalb County before her body was dumped in Atlanta.

Suarez and the victims were among the residents of a home on Daisy Drive, north of Glenwood Road inside I-285 in south DeKalb, Hodge said. He said he did not know the extent of the women's relationship or a motive for the crimes.

A DeKalb County Judge dismissed the kidnapping charge against a Decatur woman on Thursday, but said the murder charge will stand.

The case against Tamisha Suarez has been bound over to Superior Court. She remains behind bars without bond.

Investigators say Suarez killed Alicia Spencer over the Memorial Day weekend. Spencer's infant daughter, six month old Precious Diamond, was missing prompting an amber alert.

Acting on a tip, the baby was found unharmed with Suarez.
