Skeletal remains discovered
Lynwood police are trying to determine the identity of a person whose skeletal remains were found Tuesday morning in a farmer's field.
"We're looking at missing person reports to see if there's any connection, but right now we're waiting to see if the medical examiner's office can clarify if it was male or female," said Police Chief Russell Pearson.
A farmer called police after he noticed the human remains.
"He was out fertilizing his field and got out to walk the property, which has a wooded section right off of 202nd Street and Burnham Avenue," Pearson said. "He said he noticed it right away."
The torso, spine and legs were intact, but the skull and other bones were scattered around and the clothing shredded, probably because of scavenging animals, Pearson said.
It's unclear whether foul play was involved, and investigators are unsure how long the body had been there.
The remains were found about 10 yards from the roadway, making it unlikely that it would have gone unnoticed by passing motorists if the body was first there during the winter, he said.

LYNWOOD | Police are proceeding with a death investigation after the discovery of what investigators are calling skeletal remains in a field near the intersection of 202nd Street and Burnham Avenue.
A local farmer found the remains about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, said Lynwood police Sgt. Greg Szymanski, who described the remains as a partial human skeleton covered in what appeared to be faded clothing. Investigators could not discern the style or color of clothing, or how long the skeleton may have been there, he said.
Police had taped off a wooded area north of 202nd Street -- less than a mile south of Lansing Municipal Airport -- where the remains were found. Investigators removed a paper bag containing evidence, and on Wednesday they were back on the scene searching the field and wooded areas for additional evidence.
The investigation is proceeding in conjunction with the Illinois State Police crime lab and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Anyone with information about the skeleton is asked to call Lynwood police at (708) 758-6100.

If the farmer saw the remains right away when he walked his field then it may not have been there last year at this time, unless he had been buried.

Has anyone heard any more about the id on this poor man?
I know that it is far from Seattle (although there is a Lynnwood near Seattle and it made my heart stop when I saw Lynwood on here!) but I keep thinking of Nicholas Francisco and what if somehow it is him.
Anyway, any more news on this???
TIA!
