and I tell all of you, NOTHING has changed! I FEEL GREAT!! no menopausal symptoms......NONE, and I only wish I had done this sooo much sooner!

If any of you are experiencing heavy bleeding and pain due to cysts, endometriosis, tumors, etc, PLEASE, don't be afraid. Go and have it done. Even if I had experienced any kind of menopausal symptom, it couldn't have been any worse than experiencing what I had been for over 20 plus years.

I feel like I have a whole new life! and no planning vacations around anything cept for what you should plan them around: school and work!!

I'm so happy for you Rockford!!! I had the same wonderful result. To wear white again! The surgeon who performed my surgery gave my life back to me! I can highly recommend the hysterectomy. I was 34 and didn't have menopausal symptoms until I was almost 50. I did have freedom - freedom from misery.

I'm thinking that since I had a complete hysterectomy, that I won't experience symptoms if I haven't already.

The freedom to go swimming at any time. Freedom to wear light clothes, the freedom to not have to worry every month alone is like heaven.

My poor sister STILL suffers and is afraid she will suffer even more with menopausal symptoms.

Prayers of light for your sister, I know she will get through with you to support her!!!

Glad it turned out real well for you, Rock. Maybe some day your sister will decide whether it would be right for her or not, but for now all you can do is share your experience of the whole deal and how you're progressing.

I had a partial in November.....soooo glad I did!

And you are so right! It is absolutely wonderful to not have to worry about so much anymore!!

My sister was 20 when she had hers and my mom was 23. So there is a history of problems like that in my family.

I also had a complete hysterectomy in 1997 at age 39 due to fibroid tumors and heavy periods, sometimes 2 a month. I suffered two miscarriages before I finally made up my mind to have it done, and for that I'm so very sorry I waited as long as I did.

Like you Rockford, I didn't have any menopausal symptoms. As I got closer to 50 (current age) I did have a few hot flashes and night sweats, but this is because I don't take anything for HRT. There's a history of breast cancer in my family and I just didn't want to take that risk, so I take my calcium and osteo prevention and every bone scan has been great!

For anyone debating having this surgery, please read all you can and decide for yourself if it's time to stop the suffering.

I don't know if i made the right decision, but i chose to not take anything and wait to see if I had menopausal symptoms, due to taking estrogen leads endometriosis to continue feeding on the estrogen, and growing. I'm suppose to see the gynie for a year long check up, but I honestly feel just fine and I feel as though nothing happened cept a heavy burden was removed.

I think my mom has had female problems, but my sister always had nothing to worry about. I feel badly that her problems did catch up to her.

Great for you Rock. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d112/nevadabound/e2c0286808ef070b67877c72629602e5.gif

I know I've gone through those menopausal symptoms and they are no joke. I felt as if I was about to loose my mind, thankfully, I tried estroven and helped me get over that.

It is a great feeling not to worry about your menstral cycle and plan those vacations around them oh, and pregnancies too. :girl_haha: It's going on five years now, I finally feel re-born....

I think back to a year ago and all that worrying. Oh I am soooo glad i did this!!

And if I do get symptoms as I near 50, they cannot be anything as bad as living with endometriosis and that God-awful pain! EEEK
