Amber Alert Issued for 14 Month Old Indiana Girl
Posted: Sunday June 1 4:33 PM CT

The Indiana State Police issued the Amber Alert on Sunday afternoon after the girl was reportedly abducted in Vigo, Indiana, approximately 12 miles south of Terre Haute. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

Chelsea E. Netemyer white female, 2' 8" tall, weighing 22 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple "Blues Clues" nightgown.

The suspect is James Netemyer, Jr. No description available.

The suspect vehicle is a 2001 gold Chevy Silverado, Indiana license truck plate 691801. The vehicle has a front plate of Premier Auto and a back window sticker stating In Memory of Leonard Farr.

Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call the Vigo County Sheriff's Department at 1-888-58 AMBER or dial 911.

Missing Amber Alert child found

VIGO, Ind. (WISH) - The Amber Alert for 14 month old old Chelsea E. Netemyer issued by the Vigo County Sheriff's department has been cancelled. The child has been located.

Netemyer was last seen Saturday morning and the Vigo County Sheriff's department believed her to be in extreme danger.

No word yet on where she was found or who she was with.

(WANE) - The Amber Alert for a Vigo County girls has been cancelled. Police said 14-month-old Chelsea E. Netemyer has been located.

The Vigo County Sheriff's Department told NewsChannel 15 more information would be released later, but would not provide more information about where the child was found or who she was with.

Around 4:00 p.m. police had issued an Amber Alert and sent the following press release:

The Vigo County Sheriff's Department is investigating an abducted child from 2326 North Stop 19 in Vigo, Indiana, approximately 12 miles south of Terre Haute, Indiana.

Chelsea E. Netemyer, 14 months old, a white female, 32" tall, 22 lbs., blonde hair, blue eyes was last seen between 6 and 9 a.m. on June 1, and is believed to be in extreme danger. Chelsea E. Netemyer was wearing a purple (Blues Clues) nightgown.

Vigo County Sheriff's Department says Chelsea E. Netemyer was likely abducted by James Netemyer, Jr. who is possibly armed with a .22 caliber Browning pistol.

The suspect's vehicle is a 2001 gold Chevy Silverado, Indiana license truck plate 691801, exp. 2008. The vehicle has a front plate of Premier Auto and a back window sticker stating In Memory of Leonard Farr.

(WANE) - The Amber Alert for a Vigo County girls has been cancelled. Police said 14-month-old Chelsea E. Netemyer has been located.

The Vigo County Sheriff's Department told NewsChannel 15 more information would be released later, but would not provide more information about where the child was found or who she was with.

NewsChannel 15's sister station in Terre Haute spoke with Chelsea's grandfather before she was found. He pleaded to her father, James Netemyer Jr., to bring her home safely.

Police would not confirm if Chelsea was found with James, but he was the person of interest when the Amber Alert was issued.

Chelsea's grandfather said the little girl was the victim of a domestic dispute.

"It's a shame when her mom and dad fight and she's caught in the middle. She did nothing wrong," he said.

Thank Heavens this baby was found and is safe... and too, since he allegedly had a gun he didn't use it on her mother or her. Or himself for that fact.
