Doesn't sound like a domestic thing, since they have no name on the suspect.

I hope the little guy is found safely.

Ambert Alert Issued for Missing Four-Year-Old Boy

Maryland State Police have issued an Amber Alert for a four-year-old boy was forcibly taken from his home about 11 p.m. Wednesday in Fort Washington.

Prince George's County police say the abductor approached a woman who had just arrived home and forced his way into a woman's home. The man tied up the family and called the boy's father, who was at work. The man demanded money and threatened to harm the child if he didn't get it, police say.

The man left the home with the boy, identified as Jose Benjamin Mejia.

The abductor was described as a Latino man, about 30 years of age, 5' 9" tall and 160 pounds. He may be wearing a brown plaid shirt and baseball hat, police said.

They were last seen in the 9400 block Sandy Creek Road in Fort Washington.

Mejia is described as being 3 feet tall and weighing 48 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with red Nike lettering, black sweatpants and a black baseball hat.

Police say the man may have been driving a gold or light colored 1990s style Cadillac with a darker colored vinyl roof.

Police ask anyone with any information to call 911 immediately.

I can't find a photo yet. I pray this boy is safe. :innocent0001:

I hope they put one out soon. Time is of the essence!! The description is so vague, general and limited (more about clothing- which can be changed) nothing about eye, hair color or distinguishing marks.

I wish we had more details.

How did the man get the child last night?
They know what he may be driving so they must have a clue as to who he is.

The alert is being broadcast on television and radio stations and put on overhead highway signs.

If they have a photo I wish they would share with the media.

I am wondering if the child was playing outside at 11pm last night when he was abducted. AND, why was the alert issued this morning instead of last night..

The article says the abductor forced his way in as the woman was coming home. He may have targeted them, since he called the husband and demanded money, but maybe they don't know him.

You may be right, Faith. It said he tied up the family and left with the child, so I just assumed they were all in the house.

Missing Boy Found In Takoma Park SAFE

POSTED: 8:27 am EDT June 5, 2008
UPDATED: 5:10 pm EDT June 5, 2008

WASHINGTON -- A missing 4-year-old boy who was abducted from his home was reunited with his parents after he was found in Takoma Park on Thursday morning.

Jose Benjamin Mejia, 4, is in good physical condition and was taken to Prince George's County police headquarters to meet his family, News4's Pat Collins reported.

A teenager spotted the boy walking alone on Geneva Road at about 12:15 p.m. The teen brought the boy to his mother, who called police.

There was a note in the boy's pocket identifying him, Collins said.

The boy's abductor has not been located.

Maryland State Police issued an AMBER Alert after the boy was taken from his home Wednesday night.

Police said Mejia's mother was coming home to the 9400 block of Sandy Creek Road in Fort Washington at about 11 p.m. when a man approached her from behind and threw her to the floor.

The man tied the woman and a child up and locked two more children in a bathroom. The attacker had the woman call her husband at work to demand money. The man told the husband that he would injure one of his children if he was not paid.
