UPDATE TO BREAKING NEWS: Human remains found in Sauk County

The Sauk County Sheriff's department is investigating the discovery of a baby's remains in the Town of Delton.

The Sauk County Sheriff's Deputies responded to intersection of Cty Hwy A & T, Bunker Road, and found the bag, which did contain human remains.

The remains were taken to Madison, where investigators determined the bones likely belong to a child, under the age of one. They also found some other evidence alongside the bag, but will not release any details except to say they are not other human remains.

Investigators are still trying to determine how the child died and when.

OMG! That is so sad!
Stuff like this just makes me sick to my stomache.
It bothers me to even watch a movie where a child is being harmed.
It scares me greatly to know that my children are growing up in a world with sooo much evil.

I pray that they will find out who this little angel is and may the person or persons who did this suffer forever!!

OMG!
This is the road on which I take my daughter to work! We couldn't figure out why they had it closed down and Shrriffs cars blocking the entrance..now I guess we know why.

So sad for the baby. I will never understand the evil people can sink to.

Authorities Offer New Details In Investigation Of Bag Containing Baby Bones
Bag Found On Rural Road

POSTED: 9:43 am CDT July 8, 2008

BARABOO, Wis. -- Sauk County authorities released new details on Tuesday as they search for the identity of an infant whose remains were found in a duffle bag last month.

The baby's bones were found on June 5 in a blue duffle bag on a rural road in northern Sauk County near the Wisconsin Dells area. Also inside was a multi-colored afghan, investigators said.

Authorities said that the child was apparently an infant, but the sex, race and viability of the child haven't yet been determined.

Investigators said that the duffle bag is a blue sports-style bag with the markings of "InGear Expedition International.EXP" on the front of it and a logo on one side. It has several pockets. It is approximately 2 feet by 1 foot by 1 foot in size. The afghan appears to be handmade and has three colors: white, blue and lavender. It is approximately 6 feet by 4 feet in size.

Authorities said that anyone with information about this case should contact the Sauk County Sheriff's Department at 800-377-1195.

I agree putting those pictures out in the papers, someone has to know who it belongs to..I feel for the person that knitted the afghan and how it was used..

Authorities seek answers in baby bones case
By Brian D. Bridgeford / News Republic

A blue duffle bag and multi-color, handmade Afghan blanket are clues the Sauk County Sheriff's Department hopes will spark information about an infant child whose remains were found on Bunker Road north of Baraboo in early June.

The Sauk County Sheriff's Department is appealing for information from anyone who has seen these items or knows about the identity of the infant or circumstances of their death, said Capt. Kevin Fults.

The duffle bag in which bones of the child were found is blue with multiple pockets, according to a statement released by the Sheriff's Department. It is about 2 feet by 1 foot by 1 foot in size and has the brand name on the front: InGear Expedition International.EXP. There is also a logo on one side.

The Afghan is mainly blue, white and lavender and about 6 feet by 4 feet.

The duffle bag, Afghan and child's remains were found by a citizen along Bunker Road in the Town of Delton on June 5, according to the Sheriff's Department.

The child does not match any who have been reported missing, and investigators have not yet been able to identify the gender, race or viability of the child, Fults said. They have not determined the cause of the child's death.

Investigators believe the child was a few weeks before or after the age of birth. They are working with Wisconsin Department of Justice investigators and are waiting for results from a state laboratory that might provide new information.

"We're looking for any information the public might have," Fults said. "We're hoping the public, if they recognize something there, will be in contact with us and let us do our investigation."
