I have recently been put on blood pressure meds and a prescription allergy pill. My question is...how do you remember to take them? I am so bad! I remember at the wrong time of the day, especially since the blood pressure meds make me have to pee a lot, I never remember them until the evening time. What can I do to help me remember to take them?

My hubby just recently got a pill box from his Neurologist - it has a timer on it.
After he takes his meds, he just sets the timer for his next dose.
Maybe you could get one of those watches that has an alarm on it?

The pill box is the best idea - along with a timer on your mobile set for the same time daily.

The pill box is a great idea.
Once you get used to taking your meds, which should be taken the same time each morning, (hubby is on BP medication) it will become part of your everyday routine.

I start my day off on the computer so I set mine right beside my keyboard.
My DH has a cup of coffee first thing, so his are right beside the coffee pot.

Good idea too, to keep them in your sights. I know I keep my medications on my window sill in my kitchen so if I forget, it makes me remember.

Thanks to all!! This is probably the best plan for me because my mornings are pretty hectic. I like to take them after I eat breakfast so this will work out great. Thanks guys for all the great ideas, I have to go and set the alarm on my phone now...:howdy:

Mine are b.i.d., so after breakfast and after dinner, when I brush my teeth, that's when I take them. Right in the medicine chest where they belong. Rather simple.

Doesn't the steam of the shower, moisture get into the vials?
I heard somewhere never to place meds in the bathroom. They should always be kept in a cool, dry place.

Vials are pretty air tight, much less alone being in the chest, I don't think too much "moisture" can get into them. Most of the time the bathroom is the coolest, least humid, place in the house, at least mine. I'd rather keep the meds out of reach of the grandkids than to worry about the moisture in them. I could put them in the top of the linen closet, but then I'd probably forget to take them. I guess whatever works for you. That was the original question, correct? Good to see you!

I take my thyroid meds in the morning after brushing my teeth. Because I can't take them near any vitamin, I take the vits at night when I brush my teeth.
They're right there by my tooth brush.
I did the same when I was on BC... that way I couldn't forget since I always brush at least once a day.
