Jennifer Kesse, a 2003 University of Central Florida graduate, was abducted in or near her condo complex at Mosaic at Millenia condos near the Mall of Millenia in Orlando, FL on January 24, 2006 at the age of 24. Her car, a 2004 Black Chevy Malibu was found two days later on January 26, 2006 at the Huntington on the Green condos on Texas Ave & Americana Blvd., just a little over a mile from her home.

22 Months later, and someone out there knows where Jenn is... there is a suspect, who was seen parking Jennifer's car. However, due to a fence imposing the view, the gender, race, and almost all other physical characteristics of this suspect is hard to decipher. Yet, someone knows the way this person walks and dresses. Please visit www.findjenniferkesse.com for information on Jenn's abduction and pictures and video of the suspect.

Help us find Jenn... both she and her family and friends deserve answers.

Missing Persons Bill SB502

House Bill HB223 - Missing People

October 24, 2007 Family Letter

91 weeks, 21 months have now passed since Jennifer was abducted. We are going to keep this months’ message positive. There is no reason to dwell on the obvious pain we experience every minute of every day we are without Jennifer. Our pain does not matter, Jennifer’s is the only PAIN which matters. Having said that, we would like to thank everyone who continues to talk about Jennifer, pass on information about Jennifer and who simply cares about her situation. Leads continue to come to us on a daily basis from several sources, Family Tipline, Crimeline, Orlando Police and America’s Most Wanted, to name a few. The efforts of the general public, family, Friends and volunteers have been invaluable in keeping Jennifer’s case extremely active even after 21 months. You are, in conjunction with the authorities, keeping her case moving forward!

Many people think that Jennifer’s case may be losing steam, cold, or even that she had been found as we hear from you. This could not be further from the truth. Jennifer’s case is the most active it has been since the early weeks after she was taken. The quality of leads are improving also.

Now is the time we ask all of you to continue the pace of passing on information. It is crucial that it not let up. We are desperately seeking answers to where Jennifer is, who took her and how do we find her and get her back home to us, her family. We truly feel we will find Jennifer and it will take a world of caring people to make that happen. We have heard from people in every state in our country as well as at least 48 other countries, all passing on Jennifer’s information and keeping their eyes and ears open for her because she could be anywhere in the world at this point in time. We are humbled by your true concern and thank you for your unending actions of awareness for her. We are especially thankful to the Orlando/Central Florida region for refusing to let Jennifer’s case subside as well as the police agencies who continue to investigate her abduction.

Please remember there is an abductor(s) still amongst us who need to be identified and brought to justice. Until then, we can only ask, “Who’s Next and when it will happen?”

We are again attempting to enhance our Missing Persons laws in the State of Florida in the next session. Our proposed Bill changes (cuts down the time period) when, how and to what databases a Missing person information MUST be entered. It also raises the age from 18 to under 26 years of age for an immediate Missing persons report to be generated and after 90 days still missing, the law will require DNA be found , taken and added to specific databases to help solve the case, as well as gathering more information than currently taken by Police. We have sponsors for Senate Bill SB502 in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. The FDLE has been working very hard in writing the law and gaining the needed support to make it become law which we are grateful for. Please visit www.myflorida.com and search for Senate Bill SB502, sponsored by Senator Lee Constantine of Winter Park Fl., and follow it as it goes through committees and hopefully passed into law. There is a copy of the legislation on this page to the left for your review.

We ask that you contact and express support for the Bill to your local state representatives so they are familiar with the proposed law when it comes up for vote, to insure passage. It will surely help those in the future. The quicker police respond the better the chance of recovery of the missing person – Plain Fact!

We have had some great media awareness for Jennifer this past month and upcoming month. We were asked to do a segment on The Montel Williams Show, which aired 10/11/07. It was a great show with Tom Morris from America’s Most Wanted along with Montel spotlighting high profile criminal cases and missing people. We were honored to have Jennifer’s case on the show which was shown around the world!

We also were contacted by the Oxygen Network for the show “Captured” which features cases where people are abducted or missing and found, then the last 5 minutes of the show a current missing person’s case is featured, Jennifer will be one of those featured as still Missing. Date to be announced.

On 10/13/2007, the Northgate Baptist Church in Tampa conducted an awareness vigil for Jennifer which we attended and were thankful for, having raised our family in Tampa for 16 years. Once again the community has stepped up in support of Jennifer and will not let her story go away.

We have also been contacted by the producers at America’s Most Wanted who are putting together a segment on Jennifer for their show. This is absolutely huge for Jennifer! The show has a standing record of 1 case solved for every show they produce. That is Results! We will keep you posted on an air date.

We were also interviewed by Poker Pro magazine for an article which came out in this month’s issue about the 100,000 decks of playing cards Crimeline and FDLE placed in the State Prison system and also for sale to the public which Poker clubs have been buying and using in “Poker Runs”(Tournaments). Leads are coming in and a murder case from 2004 was just solved by a prisoner playing with the cards noticing someone he knew and speaking with authorities about facts which directly solved the murder! 3 years after the murder, considered a cold case and 2 ½ months after placing the cards in the prisoners hands. They do work and we urge all states to generate a playing card program for their prison system.

We also want to thank The Maury Povich show, who till this day, continues in different markets and countries to show the Missing Persons episode which featured Jennifer. The latest showing this month was in Canada and Australia. Again, simply invaluable awareness for Jennifer and others who are Missing.

So as you can see we still hold great HOPE that Jennifer’s journey through Hell will end soon and there are multitudes of people, police and media who along with us will not give up on Jennifer being found. She deserves to be found – all the Missing deserve to be found!

You are so welcome... I think one of the keys to finding someone is to keep them in the media and as many other places as possible. People need to be more aware of the many that are missing and not just a few.

Family Letter – November/December 2007

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone an enjoyable and safe Holiday Season. We thank you for all the support you have given Jennifer and our family through the past 23 months but most importantly we thank you for not giving up on Jennifer and for helping and continuing to keep the awareness of her Abduction on 1/24/2006, strong, growing and alive. Please know that Jennifer’s case is not cold! Tips still to this day come in from numerous sources and it is because of your efforts that will ultimately help bring home Jennifer. There is more manpower, resources and energy at this point in time working Jennifer’s case than any other time in the past. The authorities will not give up, they have assured us of that and truly believe Jennifer will be found.

We are planning events for the 2 year mark since Jennifer’s abduction and they will be finalized soon. We know we will be on “The Corner”(John Young Parkway & Americana Blvd.) Thursday, 1/24/2008 for the morning and the evening rush hours, holding Jennifer’s Reward Posters to remind people she is still Missing and endangered . We are also planning a community event for 1/26/08 in Orlando and those details will follow in early January, so please check back then.

The proposed Missing Persons Law we are working on is doing very well (please see front page of website for details of proposed law and how you can help). We have secured sponsors in the Senate, Sen. Lee Constantine of Altamonte Springs and in the House of Representative, Rep. Evan Jenne of Davie, with approximately 12 co-sponsors and growing. FDLE has done great work in writing the proposed Bills as well as gaining support for them to proceed. We will keep you posted as it goes through committees and the help we will need to contact committee members to express your support for the Bills.

Many people ask us how do we stay positive and focused. Mostly it is our unconditional love for Jennifer which will never waiver. One of our many volunteers recently passed this writing on to us and we thought it explains our positive attitudes and hope. We hope it can help others who face negative experiences on any level.

With humbled thanks,

Drew, Joyce, Logan Kesse and Rob Allen

Positive experience

+++++++++++++++++++

The best response to a negative experience is to create a positive experience. Instead of fighting against life's misfortunes, transform them into useful and worthwhile value.

When things go wrong, you have a choice. You can wallow in self pity or you can seize the opportunity for self improvement.

In every disappointment there is the seed of fulfillment. In every weakness there is the seed of strength.

Problems and difficulties provide reliable pathways to achievement. There is value to be gained from every experience when you choose to see that value and to bring it about.

You never have to be the victim of random circumstance, or of any other circumstance for that matter. For instead of choosing to be the victim, you can always choose to make a positive difference.

Life is often unfair, and comes to you in ups and downs, but that doesn't really matter. For you are free to make of it whatever you choose.

It is our hope that with this site we can help make some changes. It's a slow process, we are making some changes here and will be adding a couple of interesting things in the next week or so. They will hopefully add to drawing more public awareness to the many missing out there. We don't want to be just another missing person site that posts pictures, we want to make a difference and keep the missing in the public eye.

Kesses to Observe Anniversary Since Daughter's Disappearance

Last Edited: Monday, 14 Jan 2008, 6:58 PM EST
Created: Monday, 14 Jan 2008, 6:58 PM EST

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) -- Thursday, January 24 will mark two years since the disappearance of Jennifer Kesse. On Monday, Kesse's parents went before the Orlando City Commission to thank the city for its continuing cooperation in the search for their daughter.

"Jennifer's case has never died down. It is not cold. We still receive tips every day from multiple sources. It is all about awareness and it is keeping it going and these are the things that we try to do," said Jennifer's father Drew.

Jennifer was abducted from her Orlando condominium in 2005. Her car was recovered three days after the abduction at the Huntington on the Green Apartments in Orlando. Police, family and friends hoped that the car would be the first clue in quickly finding Jennifer.
Unfortunately, the discovery of the car would prove to be one of the only clues in the case. In order to pinpoint a possible suspect, investigators undertook the task of watching hours and hours of surveillance video and identified a person of interest.

The person was captured on a surveillance camera walking near the spot at the Huntington on the Green apartments on Americana and Texas where Jennifer's car was found. Police do not even know if the person is a man or a woman and the description remains vague.

A huge reward was offered for information in the case and investigators checked out many tips. However, none of the tips led them to finding Jennifer. In the months following the abduction, the story was kept in the forefront of local and national media. The community rallied together to help find the young woman; droves of volunteers met many times to help search.

The Kesses say they are now now working with state lawmakers to pass a new "missing persons law." It would create standard policies and procedures for agencies searching for missing people.

The Kesses will host a community safety event on January 26 at the Mall at Millennia from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will feature thirty booths which will provide free fingerprinting services and a chance to talk to local police, representatives from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and various groups which work to find missing persons.

Well, today is exactly two years since Jennifer was abducted.

Drew, Joyce, Logan and all of Jennifer's family and friends are still in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope that someday soon the truth is revealed to those that love and miss Jennifer so much.

Grande and I have complied a fairly large amount of info in this case and although it did not seem to go anywhere, I am wondering if we should post it because there could be something that could jog someone's memory or someone could possibly make a connection.

The people we have identified have not been charged with any crimes or implicated whatsoever. And that is the reason I am apprehensive to post that info.

Because at the time when we gave the info to the Kesse's and to Joel Wright, the OLE did not have a missing person squad - which they do now. I would imagine that any and all info was throughly examined, but in the event it was not - I am just suggesting that it might be worth looking at again. That's all.

I'm not sure it's not related. I just do not know.

As you may know, the missing person flier developed for Jennifer that was written all over in Farsi was the only piece of info the OLE seemed interested in because the persons name was mentioned once before. That person is not 5"3' to 5"5'.

The OLE wanted to know if I knew the whereabouts of that person only. (I believe he was in a mental institution shortly after writing on that flier). That did not seem to be knowledge the OLE had. He previously stayed at a Howard Johnson's motor lodge.

One person we looked at is 5"3' and had a few charges pending. Those included assault on a pregnant woman.

In the info we developed was a locale at the mall across the street and the Blue Martini bar (where these people often drank) - all with in walking distance of Jennifer's condo. One person worked at the mall and the uniform was the same as the person seen on the video outside of the gate.

Black shoes, Beige Khaki pants, and a blue work shirt.

During the last two years, according to Joel Wright, the crime rate has quadrupled in the Orlando area and they were / are overloaded. That is why they developed the missing person squad.

It's possible that the info we put together is totally irrelevant. And just a series of coincidence.

That is very interesting. Haven't the Kesses hired a PI? Maybe he could check to see if LE has investigated your info. He might be able to get info on the individuals that LE can't. Maybe you guys should contact the family again. How could it hurt? They've not had anything to lead them to Jennifer in so long. They really need closure.

"Posing our questions to owl and Eeyore as our day disappeared all too soon. But I've wandered much further today than I should, and I can't seem to find my way back to the wood."

A few lines from Kenny Loggins' "House at Pooh Corner" sums it up for Drew Kesse. The song he used to sing to daughter Jennifer when she was young rings true for Jennifer's situation today - she has been missing for more than two years. It's not the wood Kesse wishes Jennifer would find her way back to - it's home.

Josh Duckett knows Kesse's pain all too well. His 2-year-old son, Trenton, went missing in August 2006. Duckett and his family wait and wonder in Leesburg about the toddler's fate.

Last month, the Kesses and the Ducketts, along with 28 other families of the missing, held a community awareness event at the Mall at Millenia near Orlando.

Speakers included Orlando police Chief Val Demmings and Sen. Lee Constantine, R-Altmonte Springs, among others. The event marked two years since Jennifer has been missing. Nearly 300 people were fingerprinted at the event and Florida's Blood Centers got numerous donations, Kesse said.

"Awareness is everything," Kesse said. "We can keep Jennifer in the forefront."

Kesse said that before he became a part of the "families of the missing club," he never paid much attention to missing people and the struggle their loved ones endure. But since Jennifer's disappearance, that has changed.

"Normal people that just don't pay attention to it need to start paying attention to it," he said.

Kesse case

Jennifer was reported missing Jan. 24, 2006 after she failed to show up at work. She was 24 at the time of her disappearance. The last time anyone talked to her was 10 p.m. the previous night and then she simply vanished, Kesse said. Her black Chevy Malibu was found in an apartment complex two days later - an area known for dumping stolen vehicles, Kesse said. Jennifer recently bought a condo and was having work done to the place. The crew, made up mostly of illegal aliens, made Jennifer uneasy, Kesse said.

"They always wanted to come back more than they needed to," Kesse said.

More than half the crew disappeared in the days after Jennifer vanished, Kesse said.

Anytime someone goes missing, the effects on friends and family are tremendous. For Kesse and his wife Joyce, they chose to be proactive in bringing their daughter home. They started a Web site and a tip line and put their own money toward a reward for their daughter's safe return. For four months after Jennifer went missing, the Kesses stood at the corner of John Young Parkway and Americana Boulevard in Orlando with posters of their daughter. Their jobs allowed them to take that time off, but have both since returned to work, Drew Kesse said.

"We're very much involved in changing (missing person) laws," Kesse said. "We do things for the community too."

The Kesses are working to help pass a bill with the House and the Senate to require specific procedures when handling missing persons cases - both children and adults, Kesse said.

Kesse hopes the bill will pass, and law enforcement will handle missing adults differently as they would a child. Jennifer was very close to her parents and her little brother Logan.

"My daughter was abducted when she was (an) adult," Kesse said. "Our first cop on the scene shrugged his shoulders and said, 'She'll be back.' "

If you have information on Jennifer or Trenton's disappearance. Call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

Family Letter—January/February 2008

We can hardly believe that it has been 2 years now since Jennifer was abducted. Surreal, remains the best word to describe how we feel. At times it seems so much longer and then other times it seems like just yesterday……….

How can we possibly begin to thank all of you for your continued support, prayers and efforts to help keep Jennifer’s abduction in the public’s eye? We have found a small way……and that is by giving back, helping to educate by providing safety awareness information and offering fingerprinting to anyone. In honor of Jennifer, we held the “The Jennifer Kesse - Beacon of Hope for the Missing-Safety & Community Event” on January 26th At The Mall at Millenia in Orlando. Thank you to the many participants and to those attending.

We would like to especially thank the Mall at Millenia ownership, management and staff for the support you have given Jennifer. From organizing searches in the Mall’s community rooms 2 years ago until present with Jennifer’s Beacon of Hope for the Missing event, you are a true asset to the community and to our Hope of finding Jennifer.

Another way we can say thank you to Jennifer’s supporters is by helping to change laws that perhaps one day may affect you or someone you know. Please visit the links regarding the proposed Missing Persons Bill and contact your state representative and senator asking them to support this bill. Baby steps, together we can help change the missing persons laws so that the response and information is immediate and wide spread.

We must continue in our efforts to find Jennifer and so we ask for you to please keep praying, sending strength to the law enforcement and passing along Jennifer’s website, both here and abroad. Someday, someone, somewhere will be made aware of Jennifer’s plight and come forth with information that might bring her home. NOW would be just great. Together we can make a difference………….

Thank you!

Psychic Says She Knows Location Of Duckett, Kesse

POSTED: 7:37 pm EST February 25, 2008
UPDATED: 8:01 am EST February 26, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An Orlando woman said she has visions about two big local missing person cases -- information that could help solve the cases.

"I will see images. I will hear a voice," Maggie Giono said.

Giono said she can channel spirits, talk with the dead and see into the future through meditation.

"l grew up with that gift. I've seen accidents before they happen, plane crashes before they happen," Giono said.

Giono said sometimes it can be very hard to know what to do with the information she sees.

She struggles to make sense of her visions, but hopes they can help with investigations that, to this day, baffle detectives -- cases like missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse and missing Lake County toddler Trenton Duckett.

"It's time for me to help bring closure with the gift I have to families like the Kesses and Trenton Duckett's family," Giono said.

Since 2-year-old Trenton Duckett disappeared from his mother's Leesburg apartment in August of 2006, Giono said the little boy has been talking to her, trying to lead her to him.

"Trenton has told us a lot of things. We've had many readings with Trenton," Giono said.

Those readings guided her across hundreds of miles in Lake County on her own time -- eventually leading her to Emeralda Marsh off county Road 452.

"These sheds are like what I saw," she said. "It was after many days of digging and searching that we actually found a location that had absolutely every landmark."

Giono called investigators, so they went with it, combing the private property for two days hoping this was the break in the case they needed.

"The tip said, he's here, right at this specific location," Lt. Robert Hicks of the Leesburg Police Department said.

Giono's remains convinced Trenton's body was there at one point.

"It's my feeling he's been put in the trunk of a car and moved," Giono said.

Leesburg police, like most departments in Central Florida, said they've never paid a psychic to help solve a crime.

"We really don't put much faith into them," Josh Duckett, Trenton's father, said.

Duckett said he's been let down by too many psychic tips to be a believer.

"If they were seeing things, and they could tell what happened and where he's at, then obviously, he'd be home now, he wouldn't still be missing," Duckett said.

Father Drew Kesse said not one of the many psychics that has contacted them has been able to help find his daughter, Jennifer.

She's been missing since January 2006.

Police believe Jennifer left her apartment for work and someone abducted her between her home and her car.

Giono said she has seen a different story.

"I believe she was abducted at the Mobile gas station at Kirkman and L.B. McLeod," Giono said. "That someone climbed in the back seat of her car and held a knife to her throat."

Giono said she believes Jennifer Kesse is in a waste management manhole off L.B. McLeod Road.

An Orlando police detective said they have searched waste management there based on Giono's tip.

They have also drained a retention pond, but they only found chicken bones and a lot of sludge.

They said they are willing to search this area with new concrete evidence that Jennifer Kesse is actually there.

Giono said she cannot change skeptics' minds that wonder how she can possibly be seeing what happened to Trenton and Jennifer when they're still missing. She said it is not her intention to change skeptics’ minds.

For desperate family members, it doesn't matter if police or a psychic solves it.

"We're just looking for Jennifer, whoever can bring her home," Drew Kesse said.

"The main thing is closure," Duckett said.

Giono said she is just the channel and the medium.

Human Slave Trade Should Be Checked, Missing Girl's Dad Says

POSTED: 5:44 pm EDT March 13, 2008
UPDATED: 6:14 pm EDT March 13, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The father of a Central Florida girl missing for more than two years is urging investigators to consider the possibility that she was a victim of human trafficking -- possibly forced into sex slavery, Local 6 reported.

Kesse, 24, vanished from the Mosaic at Millenia condominiums near the Mall at Millenia on Jan. 24, 2006.

Police found her Chevrolet Malibu in an apartment complex near her condominium but there have been few clues since the discovery.
Kesse's father, Drew, is now wondering if his daughter was kidnapped and forced into slavery, Local 6 reported.

"It's time we start to look in other directions," Kesse said. "We've done so much and really have come up with so little."

Experts in the world of human trafficking said many slavery cases have not been reported.

"Human trafficking as a whole is an epidemic," investigator Brad Dennis said. "And I think it's an epidemic that has been underreported for a long time."

Dennis said human trafficking cases are being investigated in almost every state.

Local 6 featured a 17-year-old girl, Shauna Newell, who was lured into a Florida house and held hostage by human traffickers before being found and rescued.

Orlando police said Jennifer Kesse doesn't fit the typical profile since she was older than most victims.

However, the Kesse family believes investigating the possibility of human trafficking is important.

"We are going to ask them to move forward on that front," Kesse said.

Anyone with information on Kesse's case is urged to call the Orlando Police Department or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

I have a question regarding the human trafficing aspect. It may not have anything to do with this case...just a question. We know how easy it is for people to slip into this country. How easy would it be for someone to kidnap a young woman like Jennifer and sneak her out of this country?

'Missing Persons' legislation

Tallahassee, FL - - State Senators adopted the “missing persons" legislation, now renamed as the "Jennifer Kesse and Hillary Sessions” bill.

It requires law enforcement to report and synchronize data with a national database within 2 hours of reporting their findings. Jennifer Kesse disappeared from her Orlando condo 2 years ago. Tiffany Sessions disappeared from the University of Florida nearly 20 years ago. Parents of both families attended the Senate's session where the proposal was unanimously adopted.

Approval of this bill is still required from Florida's House of Representatives and the Governor before it can become law.

Family Letter, April 2008 -

We, Jennifer’s family and friends, want to keep you up to date with the latest information and actions concerning Jennifer’s Abduction. The investigation into Jennifer’s disappearance has stayed extremely active as of late and leads continue to come in on a regular basis from multiple sources. We ask everyone to continue the awareness campaign of Jennifer’s situation, it will, in the end produce the right information we will need to bring an end to her personal Hell. Additional resources have been afforded to the Orlando Police department to bolster their efforts to help in resolving the mystery of what has happened to our loved one, Jennifer. We will continue to have patience and we will persevere through the daunting effort of trying to find Jennifer and the person or persons who “Took Her” over 2 years and 2 months ago. Jennifer remains an extremely high priority for all agencies involved with the task of finding her and for that we are thankful.
Recently we found pictures of Jennifer’s 4 leaf glover Tattoo she has on her left hip as well as a good picture of her pocket book she had with her at the time of her Abduction. We are trying to get those posted here as soon as possible, they may spark a memory in someone’s mind of seeing either of them. Please also be aware of Jennifer’s distinguishing marks; her Cleft Chin, Green eyes which sometime can be Blue, a chicken pox mark next to her right eye, surgery scar on her inner left elbow, her poor eyesight as well as now her 4 leaf glover tattoo. We don’t think at this point Jennifer will look like the pictures we all see and distribute, so we ask to be aware of the things which most likely won’t change on her physically.
We are also working hard on the proposed laws enhancing Florida’s existing missing persons laws and we are down to the wire and still need help in contacting any state Senator or Representative and ask them to support SB 502 and HB 223 and pass it this session which ends in the next 3 weeks in Tallahassee. We thank everyone who has helped us through emails and phone calls to legislators on this important proposed law, which you may read about just above this writing. This effort has been an education in our legislative system and a daunting task, as we as ordinary citizens try and pass laws without lobbyists, lawyers, Interest groups or a large bank account. We can and are making a difference as we join together for a common cause worth fighting for and we are grateful for all your help.
Please check back soon to this website, CBS 48 Hours Investigates is doing an entire show on Jennifer in late April/early May and we will post the date as soon as we get it. We also want to thank all the media outlets for continuing to tell Jennifer’s story, all of you have been a God send for her awareness and without you our quest would be even harder.
Please also remember there is still an Abductor(s) out in our community/state/country/world somewhere who must be identified and taken off our streets so as not to have one more victim of this heinous crime acted on by this person(s).
May Good win over evil,
Kesse family and friends

Parents of Missing Jennifer Kesse Get Adults Missing Persons Bill Passed by FL House & Senate

Congratulations to Joyce and Drew Kesse, the parents of missing Jennifer Kesse. The Kesse’s have fought long and hard to get a piece of Adult Missing Persons legislation passed in Florida. The bill is named for Jennifer Kesse and Tiffany Sessions. It now only needs the Governor of Florida’s signature to become law.

The Kesse’s have long been admired for their positive efforts in fighting for answers in finding their missing daughter Jennifer. Kudos to the Kesse’s for their efforts to help future missing persons.

THIS WEEK'S SPOTLIGHT: DREW KESSE
Fighting to find daughter

Willoughby Mariano | Sentinel Staff Writer
June 8, 2008

Since Orlando resident Jennifer Kesse vanished in January 2006, her father, Drew Kesse, has worked to keep her name and plight on TV and in the newspapers. He has attracted international attention to the case, but his daughter, who was 24 when she went missing, has not been found. This coming Saturday, her story will be featured on CBS's '48 Hours Mystery,' which airs at 10 p.m. on WKMG-Channel 6. He spoke recently with Sentinel reporter Willoughby Mariano.

Are there any major developments in the case?
No. Unfortunately Jennifer's abduction remains a mystery to authorities, as well as the identity of the suspect. . . . Having said that, most of the authorities working her case as well as our family think that we will find Jennifer. Whether for the good or bad, we believe Jennifer will come home and we are prepared for that day.

Where do you think Jennifer is?
This is a tough one. Within our family there are several thoughts on where we think Jennifer may be. Mine, in particular, revolves around the theory that she was unknowingly stalked, taken at an opportune time and is far away from Orlando and maybe the U.S. . . . Ask me in five minutes, I would probably tell you something else.

Explain your theory.
Nothing of Jennifer's has been found, used, et cetera, which gives me great hope that she may still be alive and waiting to be rescued or escape. I am, however, realistic in the sense that Jennifer may not be with us any longer after such a long period of time missing. Either way, Jennifer needs to be found and brought home.

What was it like to be involved in the '48 Hours' story?
It was an incredible yet stressful experience. From the executive producers to Peter Van Sant, the Emmy-award-winning investigative journalist who did our interviews, all were compassionate, professional and caring in every sense of the word and treated us and Jennifer with great respect.

Did you expect to be able to maintain interest in your daughter's case for so long?
Yes. I will do whatever it takes to keep the awareness of Jennifer's abduction high and find her. It's called unconditional love and a very positive attitude. I am by far not alone in this effort. Jennifer's family, friends and incredible volunteers work tirelessly to keep her name and face in the public's eye all over the world. . . . I have developed skills which I can apply to the effort. I very rarely, if ever, turn down interviews; they are an integral part of finding Jennifer. Do I like what I have to do? No. Our lives are now public, which is not of interest to me at all.

Your daughter's disappearance has taken a huge toll emotionally. What about financially?
Without going into too many particulars, it has cost a lot of money thus far -- a lot. I am, much to contrary belief, not a wealthy person, financially; in fact, far, far from it. People have been extremely generous; however, most if not all of any savings for my future is now depleted. My wealth comes in the form of family, friends and volunteers.

People try to comfort you. What's the worst thing they can say?
"Jennifer has been chosen for a higher purpose, which will come to light someday." To add to that, people often tell us they don't know what to say. [That] you care says it all.

Does it get any easier?
No, no, no, no. And in case you didn't get it -- no. It is an absurd notion to me. How I personally suffer within means nothing. It is all about Jennifer. Period. End of discussion. Think of what Jennifer is or has gone through for over two years in her hell. My feelings or sense of ease don't count at all and shouldn't. I get to eat, shower, sleep, come and go pretty much as I please. I don't think Jennifer has or had that ability.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

'48 Hours' to look at Jennifer Kesse case

June 30, 2008

Jennifer Kesse, the Orlando woman missing since January 2006, will receive national attention in 48 Hours Vanished: Stolen Beauty. The CBS newsmagazine airs at 9 p.m. Tuesday on WKMG-Channel 6.

The program first takes up the case of Tara Grinstead, a missing Georgia teacher, before turning to Kesse. The newsmagazine recaps the Kesse case and its high points, such as grainy surveillance video of the person who took her car. Drew Kesse, Jennifer's father, had not seen the report. He talked with television critic Hal Boedeker.

Question: Do you realize they start with the Georgia case and ask if there might be a connection?

Answer: Yes. I don't think there was anything distasteful, but I don't think there's a connection. On the other hand, any awareness is good awareness for either case.

Q.: Is there any new information in Jennifer's case?

A.: Not to my knowledge. This has been shot from January to last month. Nothing new has come up in Jennifer's case. It would take someone to find some bones or DNA. I don't think it's going to be anything the cops sit down and figure out. I think it will come from a different source.

Q.: Is the person in the surveillance video the key?

A.: Absolutely. If we can find that person, it's over. We'll know what happened. I think Jennifer is probably in another country and trafficked.

Q.: Why did you participate in this show?

A.: It goes worldwide. Peter Van Sant is an Emmy winner. It's the best interview we've ever done as a family. Our biggest frustration — it's what eats at us — she's being mentioned almost every day. Montel Williams repeats his show on her. We were on TV last week four times in Tampa. Jennifer is constantly being brought up. She's not a cold case, even 2 1/2 years later. It's my job to make awareness; it has to be.

Q.: Why is that so important?

A.: Once awareness goes way, everything goes away. Not only for Jennifer but for any missing person, you grab any airtime. Everything has to do with: How can we get their face and their story to the vast majority? We've heard from 59 countries on her Web site. Jennifer has five YouTube videos, none of them made by us. Masses have been said all over the world for Jennifer. We still get leads every week.

Hal Boedeker can be reached at hboedeker@orlandosentinel.com or 407-420-5756.

Stolen Beauty

June 30, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(CBS) Former beauty queen Tara Grinstead was a beloved school teacher in Irwin County, Ga., with aspirations of becoming a high school principal, when she vanished from her home in October 2005. There were no signs of forced entry, no sign of a struggle and only her pocketbook and keys were missing.

But investigators suspected foul play when a latex glove was discovered in her front yard. Now, two and a half years later, Georgia authorities prepare to reveal new information to 48 Hours that could solve the Tara Grinstead case. And our cameras follow the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to Florida, where they explore a possible connection between this eerie disappearance and another troubling case, in Orlando.

Three months after Grinstead's disappearance, Jennifer Kesse vanished from her Orlando, Fla., home. Like Tara, Jennifer was young, beautiful and successful. And like Tara, there was no sign of forced entry, no sign of a struggle and only Jennifer's keys and purse were missing. Similarly, investigators uncovered a clue that they believe is essential to solving their case - grainy surveillance footage showing an unidentified shadowy figure, who authorities believe could be Kesse's abductor, emerging from her car.

Two women, nearly 300 miles apart, vanish without a trace and each investigation holds a clue that could be the key to cracking their case.

Correspondent Peter Van Sant reports on the case this Tuesday, July 1, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Family Letter, July 2008 -

As we approach the 2 1/2 year mark since Jennifer was abducted January 24,2006, we, her family, would like to again thank all of those who support Jennifer in our efforts to find her. We remain strong, focused and working hard to find Jennifer as well as multi Law Enforcement Agencies working Jennifer’s case. Leads continue to come in and with the recent CBS 48 Hours special on Jennifer, 7/2/08, the tips have once again increased dramatically, for which we are greatly thankful. All involved still have great hope that Jennifer’s abduction will be solved. This is NOT a Cold Case! We continue to ask that if you know any information or anyone who does, that they reach out to whomever they feel comfortable with in giving that information to, be it police, Crimeline (there are still rewards for Jennifer and the Suspect), a lawyer, clergy, or media outlet. They will get the information to the right people for follow up. To this day nothing has been found or used of Jennifer’s and that fact gives us a continued source of hope and energy in the fight to find her.

As we have stated in the past, we will not go away, we will not stop the awareness needed to find Jennifer and bring her home where she belongs and we will not be intimidated or discouraged as time passes. Are we desperate? Yes, the time Jennifer has been Missing is simply too long. People must remember that there is an ABDUCTOR still loose and must be found and brought to justice. If we can identify the Suspect who last drove Jennifer’s car and walked away, we will find Jennifer! Imagine for 1 second 2 people falling off the face of the earth and no one knows where they are? Just not possible. The clues are there for us to find and put together, there is at least one person and most likely more that know what has happened to Jennifer – they need to speak up, step forward and lead us to our daughter - NOW.

July 1, 2008, the Jennifer Kesse-Tiffany Sessions Missing Persons Act took effect. The new law greatly enhances who can report a Missing Person, what information must be taken and put into local and state databases quickly and efficiently and collect DNA if after 90 days the person has not been located. Thanks to the many people who worked so hard to make the law a reality.

Ordinary people can make a difference in their communities and they must also take back their communities from the lawless criminals, those who do not respect our laws which make us the greatest country in the world. Not until we, as a community, stand up and say enough is enough will we make our communities safer. Take stock in your community and be its’ eyes and ears. Police cannot do it alone. They are there to support you, you must take the actions needed to fight crime, if not, there will be no one to blame but ourselves for letting a small percentage of our population ruin our neighborhoods and freedoms we so greatly enjoy. Be the Solution! Rise to the occasion and make a difference today. You see a crime call police. You know of a crime, call police, for you may be the next victim!

We hope that you all continue to pass on Jennifer’s information to everyone you know and ask them to pass it on also. Together we will find our missing loved ones – together we will bring them all home and together we will make our city, county, state and nation even a better place to live.

May Good win over evil,
Kesse family and friends

FOX 35 NEWS

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- It’s been two and one half years since she vanished, and you'll still find Jennifer Kesse missing person posters all across Central Florida.

Now, Orlando Police hope going back to basics will help them finally find her.

Orlando Police say more than 950 leads have poured in since Jennifer Kesse vanished in January of 2006. Investigators entered all those tips into an FDLE database, and now one detective will work the case full time. He will comb through those leads to see if police missed any clues in the case.

Bill Gilmour is Jennifer's uncle. He believes the new search for clues could break new ground.

“The technology is going to allow them to really refocus back on the many, many leads they received over the last couple of years,” Gilmour said. “And be able to zero in on things that are going to be very meaningful.”

Kesse vanished January 24th, 2006 from the Mosaic at Millenia condos. Police found her car at an apartment complex one mile away. Investigators released a surveillance image of a person of interest who parked Kesse's car at the apartment complex pool and then walked away. They have never identified that person.

Police said a recent network television special on the Kesse case generated dozens of new leads. Now one detective will work full time to follow up on them and to revisit old ones.

Drew Kesse, Jennifer's father, said he met with Orlando police leaders Monday, and the detective will work the case for the foreseeable future. The Kesse family hopes the new effort will finally answer the question Where is Jennifer?

Gilmour believes the answers are out there.

“Somebody out there knows something, and we've known that from day one,” he said. “It's just what's it going to take for that person or persons to finally come forward and say what they know.”

Crime Line is offering a fifteen thousand dollar reward in this case. Kesse's family will give ten thousand dollars to anyone who can identify that mysterious person of interest, who police have not been able to identify.

Orlando Detective To Focus Full-Time On Jennifer Kesse Case

POSTED: 12:41 pm EDT August 15, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Channel 9 has learned that the Orlando Police Department is dedicating a detective full time to concentrate on the Jennifer Kesse case.

The Orlando woman was last seen at her condo in the Mosaic at Millenium complex in Orlando in January 2006. So far, police have not been able to uncover any clues as to what happened to her.

A person of interest was caught on surveillance cameras driving Kesse's car, but he has never been found.

The department now plans to track down every last lead no matter how minor it might seem.

Interview with Drew Kessee

Jennifer Kesse disappeared from Orlando, Florida two and a half years ago. Her parents as well as friends and relatives have worked tirelessly to find her. The local and national media have high-lighted the case numerous times. Police have tracked down thousands of leads. But she remains missing. Someone knows something. Crimes don’t happen in a vacuum. There are several tip-lines listed below. Some can be called anonymously. Make that call and help the Kesse family heal!

Are there any new developments in the case that you can talk about?

We wish we could say there are. However, Jennifer as well as the suspect (i.e., the person who parked her car and walked away) still remain “vanished.” We’re told by police that there is still a lot of work to be done and there are promising directions. But this investigation has been very tough on everyone including all law enforcement involved.

I'm impressed with your website. How was it developed and how do you keep it up?

Jennifer’s website, http://jenniferkesse.com/ was created by a total stranger from the east coast of Florida, who, when he first saw Joyce (Jennifer’s mother) and myself on TV asking for help in finding Jennifer, thought that someone would try and buy the website address under Jennifer’s name and try to sell it to us and profit. He set up the basic site and we have worked together to try and keep it up-to-date and factual. And we try to keep as much detail as possible onsite so if anyone has any questions they can go there for up-to-the-minute news as well as any events we may be planning.

The guestbook on the site has also been great to have. So many people care and help with awareness. The Internet is an extremely powerful tool for getting information around the world very quickly and we take advantage of that as much as possible. Jennifer was abducted and she may be anywhere in the world by now. We’ve been contacted through the guestbook by people in over 60 countries, so it works for awareness.

Since Jennifer’s disappearance, the webmaster has started his own missing person’s website. If someone goes missing, he will set up a website free of charge and monitor it for the family or turn it over to the family so they can run it. Visit http://www.someoneismissing.com to find out more.

Joyce and I write monthly letters to post on Jennifer’s website. We send them to our webmaster and he posts them and archives the letters so people can read what we have written all along about Jennifer’s case.

Please note that anyone can print a flyer off the website. They are all printable.

Rewards still remain. Crimeline (1-800-423-8477) has a $15,000 reward for any information leading to the whereabouts of Jennifer Kesse. There is also a reward of $ 10,000 from our family for information leading to the whereabouts of the suspect who dropped off her car and walked away. (He is still unidentified.)

Family Tipline (407-722-2162) is a place where you may leave anonymous tips if you don’t wish to speak with authorities directly.

You may also contact Orlando Police at 321-235-5300 and ask for the Homicide unit.

The idea of putting the entire 48 Hours story on the website is innovative. Who came up with that idea?

When we do a television interview, we try to get the link onsite so as many people as possible can see them, even well after they have been aired. We have the “Dateline NBC” story online as well as the CBS “48 Hours” piece. We simply asked if we could get a link and the networks allowed us to post them.

Tell me about Jennifer's safety precautions while living in Orlando (i.e., safe phone, whistle, mace).

Jennifer is a very safe person. Whether she let her guard down or was taken by surprise, she always practiced personal safety. Before we had our children, Joyce and I were held up at gunpoint in our home in New Jersey. When Jennifer and Logan, our son, were old enough to start to understand “people danger” we started to teach them safety. Joyce and I always had discussions with Jennifer about safety from when she started to go to school up until she was taken. She carried mace at all times, as well as a whistle. She let people know where she was most of the time and she was not a risk taker when it came to safety.

Jennifer was well known for her “safe calls.” If she was out and did not feel she was in a safe place, she would get someone on the phone. In that way, she would have help if she needed it. She would call mostly at night, coming and going from stores in Orlando or even from a night out. If we got the safe call, we used to tease her and say, “What’s up, none of your friends around? Had to go down the list?”

Joyce and Jennifer also often spoke about what to do if certain things were to happen, like rape, abduction, car-jacking, etc. This was a result of watching many years of “Law and Order,” which we no longer watch. This is what makes this act even more unbearable. If someone wants to get you, they will. We’ve learned that the hard way. However, one still must be aware of their surroundings at all times.

How do you think the abduction occurred?

It’s a total mystery still. Personally, I think Jennifer was spotted by someone or a group who either wanted her specifically or any woman. I think she was abducted and trafficked out of this country. I know that seems far-fetched but that is what I feel happened. Joyce feels she was stalked and taken by someone who just had to have her and couldn’t. Ask us in five minutes and we will probably tell you another thought we have. It’s difficult not to even have a direction to go 2½ years later.

Do you think a worker at the condo was responsible? A stalker from work? Or maybe someone who had seen her out and about?

Too hard to say. We do believe Jennifer was most likely taken from in or around her condo building in Orlando, on her way to work that morning on January 24, 2006 at approximately 7:30-8:00 a.m. She was very uncomfortable with workers at her complex and expressed this several times to us. We simply don’t know at this time.

How do you keep your hopes up?

We (her family and friends) have total unconditional love for Jennifer. Jennifer was created from love by Joyce and myself and we have always loved and supported our children to the fullest while letting them grow personally. We are her parents! She is our child, no matter what age she is.

The fact still remains that not one item of Jennifer’s has been found, except for the car, or used since the hour she was most likely taken. This has even law enforcement stumped – Nothing! That is out of the ordinary if this was a random criminal act. So until someone can tell us what happened to Jennifer and we bring her home, for the good or bad, we will hold hope that she is still out there needing to be desperately found.

So many families that face similar circumstances break apart. How have you and your wife managed to keep it together?

Honestly, why should it break people apart? It has brought our family closer than ever. Joyce and I, this past July 29th, celebrated (not really) our thirtieth wedding anniversary. We are soul mates and we truly love each other and our children. We are, I think, smart, logical people who understand that something very bad has happened to Jennifer and she needs us, not a divorce. We are a by-product of the situation. We need more than ever to show unity and family security at this time in our lives for the rest of our family and Jennifer’s friends. If we were to break up, that would mean that Evil would have won twice, and that will not happen in this family or situation.

Is there anything else you'd like to say?

Yes, I would like to remind people that Jennifer Kesse is still missing by means of abduction and needs help desperately to be found. Please visit her website and pass it on to all the people you know and ask them to do the same. Awareness is everything in a missing person’s case. It works - we know it works.

Secondly, we want people to understand that there is still an abductor or abductors out there. They need to be found along with Jennifer. If we find the person who dropped her car off 1.2 miles down her street in broad daylight on tape and walked away, this will all be over very quickly. Two people (including the abductor) have fallen off the face of the earth in Orlando, Florida. Someone knows something and they need to step up to the plate now. If you do know something and don’t say anything, we hold you just as responsible for the abduction of Jennifer as much as the person(s) who took her!

Lastly, if I may get on my soap box for a minute: we need to start as a nation taking our communities back from the small percentage of criminals in our great country. They are ruining our neighborhoods and lives and we, the law-abiding citizens, need to stand up and not be intimidated. If you see a crime – report it! If you hear of a crime – report it! If you don’t, you are part of the problem. It’s not up to police to run our communities. We are a country of free people – not a police state. Police are there to support our communities and keep the peace. We run our communities, states, and country, we The People, so take a stand and be a part of the solution. It won’t be easy, but it will be the right thing to do!

We need to be parents to our children, not their friends. We need to teach them self-respect as well as respect for others and their property. We need to educate our children. Knowledge is power. Use punishment when needed but with love, not hate and anger. Tell and show your children you love them. Be the role-models they not only want but need. We need to teach our children Civics in school again. Most children today are unaware of how our system of democracy works in our Republic. We are the greatest civilization that has ever lived and we are ruining it by letting a few bad seeds take away our society as we know it. You can make a difference. Take the first step and others will follow.

Texas search officials to return to talk about Anthony and Kesse cases

The director of the Texas-based group that helped organize the volunteer search for Caylee Marie Anthony will be back in Central Florida on Friday, an organization spokeswoman just told the Orlando Sentinel.

Tim Miller, founder and director of Texas EquuSearch, will assess the weather conditions -- including water levels and vegetation --- and determine if it's the right time to resume the search for Caylee.

The group left Central Florida a month ago because the high water levels caused by Tropical Storm Fay were preventing a thorough examination of the search areas -- many of which were areas of thick brush and woods in east Orange County near the Anthony family home.

While in town, Miller will also meet with Orlando police detectives to discuss the Jennifer Kesse case, said EquuSearch search director Mandy Albritton.

Kesse, 24, vanished in January 2006 near her south Orlando apartment.

It's unclear exactly what will be discussed at the meeting, but there are no new developments in the case. They may search areas that had already been searched earlier, a detective said.

My heart just breaks for Jennifer's parents, other family and friends. I do wish there would be a break in this case. I'd really like for Jennifer to be a miracle and to be found alive.
I cannot even imagine the heartache her family has endured since she disappeared. I think of Jennifer often. She is such a beautiful young girl with so much to offer this world. Just tragic.

For Jennifer Kesse's family, news in Caylee Anthony case renews their hope for closure

George Diaz | COMMENTARY
December 19, 2008

For families of missing children, closure is a convenient euphemism. It never touches the jagged edges of pain, like a father who has looked at porn movies where women are tied up and beaten in a padded room, on the chance one of them might be his daughter.

Or a couple who had to wait 27 years before police in Florida officially identified a serial killer as the man who decapitated their 6-year-old son.

Or grandparents who returned home to Orlando last week with the realization that a skull and bones found near their home may be the remains of their granddaughter.

It's human nature, I suppose, to peek into graphic details of a true-life horror show without bothering about the nuances. But how can any family cope with a litany of unspeakable sins? The road leads to many places.

John Walsh turned the pain of losing his son, Adam, in 1981 into becoming one of the leading child advocates in this country.

George and Cindy Anthony are still at an emotional crossroads, not knowing whether the remains found are those of granddaughter Caylee Marie Anthony, and whether the killer is their daughter.

Drew and Joyce Kesse are in a twilight zone of a different kind. Their daughter, Jennifer, was thought to have been abducted nearly three years ago in the vicinity of the Mall at Millenia and is still missing. There have been more than 2,000 leads reported that have gone nowhere. The Orlando Police Department considers it an active case.

The Kesses push on. They've received close to 700 leads on their own, many of them addressed to a post-office box that was shut down more than a year ago.

The journey has taken them to strange places, opening doors to the dark underworld of porn to see if Jennifer had been abducted and forced into some form of sex trade. As bad as it's been, Drew Kesse knows that it's worse for others. Like a daughter who had to wait 26 years before authorities identified her mother's remains. They were stored in a locker at a morgue just a few blocks from her home.

"For this family, closure is everything. Period," Drew Kesse said Thursday. "For good or bad. Do we hope for the miracle? Absolutely. But we're very realistic. What we truly want is Jennifer to be found for her sake."

Not knowing is worse. It renders Christmas Day meaningless. The Kesses will gather with a few family and friends and ask themselves the same question they've asked over and over again:

"How do we do this?"

Advocacy is a therapeutic reaction. Similar to John Walsh, who became a tenacious criminal hunter as the face of America's Most Wanted, Drew Kesse has wrapped himself in helping others.

His fingerprints are on Senate Bill 502, the " Jennifer Kesse and Tiffany Sessions Missing Persons Act," which expands the Amber Alert system to send out notifications within two hours of any missing person under age 26. The bill was passed earlier this year with the help of Hilary Sessions, whose daughter, Tiffany, went missing on Feb. 9, 1989, in Gainesville, and has yet to be found.

There's a new cause now. Kesse is lobbying legislators for a bill that would require DNA testing for unidentified human remains in Florida. Right now, that's an option but not a requirement. Making it mandatory should help many families looking for answers, because DNA testing can identify human remains about 30 percent of the time.

It's important for Kesse because it's personal, in more ways than the obvious. He is respectful of all the attention lavished upon missing children but also wonders why adults who go missing don't always become a priority for law-enforcement officials.

"Why do we distinguish children from adults?" he asks. "I don't see why everyone isn't equal. When it comes to law, a person is a person. You are someone's child."

His child vanished near her south Orlando apartment on Jan. 24, 2006. The tears come and go, but they don't matter as much anymore. They are inconsequential.

"We still get to sleep, eat, shower," Kesse said. "But just think of what Jennifer has gone through. Our feelings don't count."

The uncertain journey continues. Drew and Joyce Kesse pray for closure, knowing that it might only bring more heartbreak.

Nearly 3-year search for Jennifer Kesse continues

Updated: Dec 22, 2008 10:18 PM

BRADENTON - The end of next month will be three years since Jennifer Kesse was reported missing. And while Jennifer Kesse was abducted in Orlando, her mother and father live on the Suncoast in Bradenton.

That's where they lead the search for answers to what happened to their daughter.

"Strong willed...very strong willed. She got that from both of us." Jennifer Kesse was just 24 years old the day she was abducted. "Our entire lives have changed. Some people think that it gets easier with time, and honestly it gets harder everyday."

What makes Jennifer's abduction difficult for the Kesse family is that they are left without answers as to what happened to her. "It is hard. There is no other way of saying it, but honestly it is hardest on Jennifer. We think what we go through and it is absolutely nothing compared to what she is or has gone through," says Drew Kesse.

Everyday for nearly 3 years now, the Kesse's have been drawing awareness to Jennifer's case. They say that the more people who look at Jennifer's picture and take a close look at the person of interest in the surveillance photo, it could lead to the answers they've been waiting for.

"Closure. To be able to have closure, to be able to grieve, to be able to heal you need to grieve. That is where we are -- in that limbo of not being able to grieve, and not being able to heal and not being able to move forward because we are caught in this limbo quicksand of where is Jenn and what happened to her. And she deserves and needs to be brought home," says Joyce Kesse.

The Kesse's have been very involved in helping families who have missing relatives. Earlier this year, they were active in passing the Jennifer Kesse and Tiffany Sessions Bill, which raises the age for a law enforcement alert from 18 to now 25 years old. And it says information must be released within two hours of a disappearance.

In the upcoming legislative session, the Kesse's say they are hopeful lawmakers will pass a law to enforce DNA testing of unidentified human remains.

If you have any information about the abduction of Jennifer Kesse, you can call 1-800-423-TIPS. To learn more about Jennifer Kesse, log onto www.findjenniferkesse.com.

Exclusive: Killer Could Hold Clues In Kesse Case
WESH 2 News Exclusive

POSTED: 2:43 pm EST January 20, 2009
UPDATED: 3:41 pm EST January 20, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Convicted murderer David Byron Russ met privately with the father of Jennifer Kesse and provided information that could lead Orlando police detectives to one or more suspects in her disappearance.

Kesse, who was 24 when she disappeared, has been missing since 2006. Russ awaits sentencing in the Seminole County Jail for the murder of a Longwood woman.

Drew Kesse visited Russ for just more than one hour on Dec. 23 and told WESH 2 news reporter Greg Fox he provided information to investigators. (Watch WESH 2 News this afternoon, starting at 4 p.m. for exclusive video with Kesse and Russ, as well as more details about the information.)

A spokeswoman for the Orlando Police Department e-mailed WESH 2 News, saying neither of the two primary detectives working the case would comment.

Kesse said he was surprised in December to get a letter from Russ, who is awaiting sentencing in the murder of a Longwood woman in 2007. Russ invited Kesse to the jail so he could discuss information about Kesse's daughter.

"It was a strange conversation. There's no taking that away. It ran the whole gamut. He talked about his family, I talked about mine," Kesse said. "He knows my feelings about Jennifer, he knows our feelings about Jennifer, that's for darn sure, and I think he was trying to help."

Kesse told WESH 2 News Russ told him he's developed information from behind bars that more than one person, possibly individuals who are currently locked up, were behind her disappearance. Kesse declined to provide specifics, saying he wants to protect Russ from retribution from other inmates.

"It's up to the investigators to see if there is any value to it, or not," Kesse said.

Mother Joyce Kesse added, "You also have to kind of look at trying to some degree, protecting him, you know."

In an exclusive interview with WESH 2 News reporter Dave McDaniel, Russ offered some hope of solving the case, but not in the manner which her parents have been praying.

"I'm pretty sure that the information that we gave them, is going to help them to find resolve, to find closure. I haven't really felt optimistic about the possibility of Jennifer still being alive, but I don't want to omit that, because there's hope in the family," Russ said.

This Saturday marks three years since Jennifer Kesse vanished. She had been living in a condominium near the Mall at Millenia in Orange County at the time.

In May 2007, police released surveillance video taken near the condominium complex, Mosaic at Millenia, where Kesse lived. It shows a person, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, walking by the gates.

Police said other surveillance video shows someone parking Kesse's car near the complex.

In April 2008, police released photos of a shamrock tattoo on Kesse's left hip and of the purse they believe she was carrying when she disappeared.

The Kesse's said they get new leads through Crime Line every week. This weekend at the Mall of Millenia they will host an even to raise public awareness about missing adults and children. It will be held in the community room near the Banana Republic store between 11a.m. and 3 p.m.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- A convicted killer may have some clues in one of Central Florida’s highest profile missing person’s case.

Jennifer Kesse has been missing for three years. There have been very few clues concerning her disappearance.

But two weeks ago the lawyer for a convicted killer contacts Drew Kesse, Jennifer’s father. While its not unusual for Kesse to get tips the latest came from a man involved ina high profile murder of a Central Florida woman.

"I think it just one more lead that has to be follow up on,” Kesse said. “If it turns out then we have something to go on.”

The tip came from David Russ who is currently in the Seminole County jail waiting to be sentenced after he pled guilty for the murder of Madeline Leinen in 2007. Russ asked to meet with Drew Kesse because he claims to have information about Jennifer’s disappearance.

Kesse wouldn’t revel what the tip was about.

"I am not going to talk about the information that was relayed,” Kesse said. “It's just not pertinent at this point."

Investigators said they are looking into what Russ said, but right now they don't believe he has the information that could break the case.

The information might help Russ’ case. In a letter, written by a woman who knows Russ she asked the judge to spare the convicted killers life for one reason....’because he is a good man who is trying to help the Kesse family behind bars’. And telling the judge, "he is hopeful that the information will help Drew Kesse and his wife find closure and that they can bring their daughter home."

The Orlando Police Department said they will not comment on what Russ said because it's an open investigation. Russ has not yet been sentenced.

A deck of playing cards featuring the unsolved case of missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse led to a meeting between her father and a confessed murderer.

David Byron Russ met face-to-face with dad Drew Kesse in Seminole County jail to pass on tips about the case, Kesse said Tuesday. Russ told the father during the December meeting that a playing card with information about Jennifer Kesse got him thinking about her disappearance.

"It's odd, but it's not the first time tips have come out of the jail," Drew Kesse said. He declined to discuss what information Russ gave him. Jails distribute decks that feature an unsolved case on each card in the hopes of getting tips from inmates.

Russ killed Madeleine Leinen, 58, in her Longwood-area home May 7, 2007. He pleaded guilty last year, saying he was in the middle of a cocaine binge at the time. He wrote his judge that he is "a cold-blooded killer" and would have killed again had he not been arrested.

Russ pleaded guilty last year and is awaiting sentencing. During a hearing earlier this month, Russ refused to let his attorneys present evidence that might help him avoid the death penalty.

A lawyer for Russ contacted Drew Kesse and gave him a hand-written letter from the confessed killer. Russ wrote he needed to meet with Kesse in person so the tip would get proper attention. The father obliged him.

"If I'm willing to die for Jennifer, why not walk into a jail for her?" Drew Kesse said.

Kesse passed the information to Orlando police investigators. Police spokeswoman Sgt. Barbara Jones said detectives have no plans to meet with Russ, and the information the inmate gave had been obtained by investigators and looked into "several months ago," Jones said. She would not give details about the tip, citing the ongoing investigation.

Jennifer Kesse has been missing since Jan. 24, 2006.

On Saturday, a community safety event marking the third anniversary of her disappearance will take place from 11a.m. to 3p.m. at the Mall at Millenia's lower-level community rooms. The Jennifer Kesse Beacon of Hope for the Missing event will fingerprint and video children for identification purposes.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will take DNA samples from relatives of missing people to put in a national database that will help identify human remains, Drew Kesse said. The service is free. About 400 people from Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Polk counties have been missing for more than 90 days, he said.

Kesse Family Holds Community Safety Event
Missing Woman's Family Continue To Fight For Former UCF Student

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The family of a Central Florida woman who disappeared three years ago on Saturday continued to fight for their daughter and for others who are missing or have been abducted.

Jennifer Kesse's parents held a safety event for the community at the Mall at Millenia on Saturday.

"Beacon of Hope for the Missing" offered free fingerprinting and identification kits for people of all ages, as well as child-defense lessons.

Kesse's father, Drew, said families should take precautions now in case a loved one ever disappears.

He said many people think it can't happen to them, and he admitted he once thought the same thing.

"I was just a guy loving life, enjoying his family and it changed," Drew Kesse said. "It can happen to anyone at any time, and it's like that...it could happen."

Drew Kesse said he believes the family will find his daughter one day and bring her home, even if it's not the outcome they want.

Jennifer Kesse, 24, vanished from her condominium in Orlando three years ago.

It may be nothing, but when Jane on Issues tonight put the video up of the person seen getting out of the car my first impression was the hair style looked like a short female cut, not really like a man. It looked like that mop head type of cut worn by women. The other thing I noticed was that the shoes appeared to be a little large for the person. The last image in front of the gate the heel seemed to have slipped a little on the foot.

It might be helpful to post images from the video.

Inmate says he has clues about missing woman

By Rupa Mikkilineni
Nancy Grace (http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/nancy.grace/) Producer

NEW YORK (CNN) -- For three years, family, friends and her college sorority sisters have been looking for Jennifer Kesse, wondering what happened to her.
http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/CRIME/01/27/grace.coldcase.kesse/art.kesse.jpg Jennifer Kesse would be 26 now. She has been missing since January 24, 2006.

Last week, on the third anniversary of Kesse's disappearance, an inmate in a Florida prison said he might have the answer.
David Russ, a convicted killer being held at the Seminole County Prison, spoke last week with the missing woman's father, Drew Kesse, claiming he had information that could lead to a break in the case.
Details are being withheld from the public. In a jailhouse phone call with CNN, Russ hinted he'd eavesdropped on other inmates. He also was outspoken about his skepticism toward investigators.
"The investigators have messed this case up from the beginning and cannot be trusted," he said. That's why he asked to speak directly with the missing woman's father, he said.
Orlando police are just as skeptical of Russ. They said he provided information they already had.
"His information is not some big break in the case," said Sgt. Barbara Jones of the Orlando Police Department. "We are still hoping for new tips that could lead us to finding Jennifer Kesse."

http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/images/1.gifThe 24-year-old financial adviser was just back from a Caribbean vacation with her boyfriend and was getting back into her routine. She went to work at her new job, came home to her new condominium and called her parents.
At 10 p.m., she called her boyfriend, who lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Then, her family believes, she went to bed.
The next morning, she got up and showered for work. Her clothes were neatly laid out on her bed, her family says, suggesting she may have tried on a few outfits before deciding what to wear to the office. Then, she disappeared (http://topics.cnn.com/topics/missing_persons), her family said.
She did not show up for work that Tuesday morning and her employer reported her missing.
Police found Kesse's Chevy Malibu two days later. It was parked in a gated lot about one mile down the road from the condominium complex where she lived. Inside the vehicle, police found some of Kesse's personal items, but her purse, wallet, two cell phones and briefcase were missing. The car doors were locked and the car keys were not found.
Police later released a video surveillance tape of the car being parked in the lot by someone other than Kesse.
The grainy video partially shows a person walking away from the car, past a parking lot gate. Police are uncertain if this person of interest is a man or a woman, because the image is partially obscured by the gate.

The person is described as 5 feet 4 inches, with a short haircut, wearing light-colored clothes and dark shoes. The video is time and date-stamped at noon on the day Kesse disappeared.
Forensic tests on the vehicle came back inconclusive, Sgt. Jones said. No blood or other trace evidence was found to show that Kesse had been injured in the vehicle.
Drew Kesse said that every Tuesday, landscapers worked at the condo complex near his daughter's parking space. The landscapers said they didn't see Kesse leaving her apartment and getting into her car, which she did every weekday morning between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m.
"The only theory we could come up with is that she walked out her front door and was kidnapped somewhere between her front door and the parking lot where her car was. We think since the landscapers didn't see her, she must not have even made it out of the hallways or stairwells of the condo complex," Drew Kesse said.
He added that there weren't any surveillance cameras in the hallways or stairwells at the time his daughter was living there.
Sgt. Jones said investigators have developed forensic evidence from Kesse's car that could someday match with a person of interest and identify a suspect. Police have also released a photo of a green clover tattoo on Kesse's left hip.
Anyone with information leading to Jennifer Kesse or the person responsible for her disappearance is asked to call the tip line at 1-800-423-TIPS. The reward is $10,000. Kesse would be 26 years old and has blonde hair, green eyes, is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds.

Human Slave Trade Should Be Checked, Missing Girl's Dad Says

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The father of a Central Florida girl missing for more than two years is urging investigators to consider the possibility that she was a victim of human trafficking -- possibly forced into sex slavery, Local 6 reported.

Sex slavery: Living the American nightmare
Shadowy multibillion-dollar industry far more widespread than expected

By Alex Johnson and Cesar Rodriguez

When FBI and immigration agents arrested a 28-year-old Guatemalan woman three months ago in Los Angeles, they announced that they had shut down one of the most elaborate sex trafficking rings in the country. It was also the family business.
The woman, Maribel Rodriguez Vasquez, was the sixth member of her family to be rounded up in the two-year multi-agency investigation. Vasquez, five of her relatives and three other Guatemalan nationals were charged with 50 counts, alleging that they lured at least a dozen young women — including five minors as young as 13 years old — to the United States with promises of good jobs, only to put them to work as prostitutes. All remain in custody as investigators attempt to unravel the complex case.
Vasquez — quickly dubbed the “L.A. Madam” — attracted attention because she had been featured on the fugitive-hunting television program “America’s Most Wanted.” But it was one of only a few such cases to be spotlighted by national media, contributing to the false impression that cases of immigrant sex trafficking are isolated incidents, law enforcement officials and advocates for immigrants say.
The reality is that human trafficking goes on in nearly every American city and town, said Lisette Arsuaga, director of development for the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking, a human rights organization in Los Angeles.
“Human trafficking is well hidden,” Arsuaga said. “I consider it a huge problem.”
Her assessment is shared by authorities in Bexar County, Texas, where the Sheriff’s Office has formed a task force with Shared Hope International, an anti-slavery organization founded by former Rep. Linda Smith, D-Wash. Bexar County is considered a crossroads of the cross-border Mexican sex slave trade because two Interstate highways that crisscross the state intersect there, some 150 miles from the Mexican border.
“I could go to a truck stop in South Texas right now and get on a CB radio and ask for some sweet stuff, and someone’s going to come out and offer something to sell,” Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Burchell said.
A $9.5 billion-a-year industry
Federal officials agree that the trafficking of human beings as sex slaves is far more prevalent than is popularly understood. While saying it is difficult to pinpoint the scope of the industry, given its shadowy nature, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials estimated that it likely generates more than $9.5 billion a year.
Last year alone, the FBI opened more than 225 human trafficking investigations in the United States. Figures for 2008 are not yet available, but in a coordinated nationwide sweep in July, federal, state and local authorities made more than 640 arrests and rescued 47 children in just three days.
In congressional testimony this year, FBI Director Robert Mueller called sex trafficking “a significant and persistent problem in the U.S. and around the world.”
Most cases involve “international persons trafficked to the United States from other countries,” who are generally less aware of their rights, probably do not speak English and are frightened to go to the authorities, he said. “Victims are often lured with false promises of good jobs and better lives and are then forced to work in the sex industry.”
While an increasing number of young men and boys are being forced into the commercial sex industry, more than 80 percent of victims are women and girls, the State Department estimated this year. Of those, 70 percent are forced into prostitution, stripping, pornography or mail-order marriage.
That allegedly was the case with the L.A. Madam.
Prosecutors said in court documents that the Vasquez ring sold Guatemalan women and girls to one another like slaves for several years. Ring members also would try to keep them in line by taking them to witch doctors who threatened to put curses on them and their families if they ran away, the prosecution said.
In one incident, three of the defendants repeatedly kicked and hit one of the victims to punish her for trying to escape, the documents allege.
“These young women were enticed into coming to this country by promises of the American dream, only to arrive and discover that what awaited was a nightmare,” said Robert Schoch, an ICE special agent.
A modern-day form of slavery
Less publicized cases reveal ordeals just as horrific.
In August, three owners and operators of Asian massage parlors in Johnson County, Kansas, near Kansas City, pleaded guilty to human trafficking of women they recruited from China and forced into prostitution.
Charging documents said the defendants, all Chinese nationals, arranged the women’s travel, meeting them at the Kansas City, Mo., airport and driving them directly to one of two massage parlors they operated in Overland Park. There, the women were forced to work from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week performing “sexual services on male patrons in exchange for money.”
Occasionally, one of the women would be sent to a nearby apartment to provide “extended sexual services,” prosecutors said. Otherwise, they lived in the massage parlors, monitored 24 hours a day by surveillance cameras.
The case made it clear that “human trafficking is a modern-day form of slavery that reaches from the other side of the globe to the suburban Midwest,” U.S. Attorney John F. Wood said.
Last month, police in Nashville, Tenn., arrested two men and charged them with holding a young Mexican woman as a sex slave, driving her across Tennessee, Georgia and Florida, where she was forced to engage in prostitution with as many as seven men a day, court records said.
Investigators alleged that the woman, 22, was tortured, stabbed and cut with an ice pick to ensure her obedience. They said the men also threatened to kill her family in Mexico and her sister in Atlanta if she did not follow their orders.
“The account given by this woman is very, very disturbing,” said Don Aaron, a spokesman for the Nashville police.
Beatings, rapes and forced abortions
In New York, meanwhile, Consuelo Carreto Valencia, a 4-foot-10, 61-year-old grandmother, pleaded guilty in July to smuggling dozens of women from Mexico and violently coercing them to perform sex acts.

Prosecutors said that Valencia was the matriarch of an extensive prostitution ring based in Mexico. The victims were compelled to perform sex acts 12 hours a day and were subjected to beatings, rape and forced abortions, they said.
Valencia agreed to the guilty plea after her attorney, John S. Wallenstein, told her she could go to prison for life if she were convicted on all counts.
“I said the jurors are going to want to jump out of the jury box and tear you to pieces,” Wallenstein was quoted as saying.
Cases hard to build
But law enforcement officials say that such successes are relatively rare. Often, victims are too frightened to cooperate with investigators, and when they are willing to help, they often speak little or no English, making it problematic to present cases that commonly rest on one person’s word against that of another.
“We have cases come up all the time, but no one really knows about it because Hispanic illegal immigrants fear being deported,” said Sara Sherman, an anti-slavery activist with Free For Life Ministries in Nashville.
Sheriff’s Deputy Keith Bickford, coordinator of the Human Trafficking Task Force in Multnomah County, Ore., said “The girls need help,” but he said they are “so difficult to deal with that we don’t have anyone trained to deal with them.”
Catching ringleaders in the act is particularly difficult, said Minneapolis Deputy Police Chief Valerie Wurster.
“We don’t find people who are chained to beds,” Wurster said. “What we’re finding is people who are very frightened, who don’t have resources locally, being managed by someone who is telling them things that aren’t very true about the environment that they’re living in.”
Federal authorities said that because the victims of sex slavery are captive and cannot come forward, they need more help from the public.
The Justice Department maintains a human trafficking hotline at 1-888-428-7581, but there is a great deal of work left to do, said Carmen Pitre, executive director of the Task Force on Family Violence, an agency that supports victims of trafficking in Milwaukee.
“We’ve come to learn that cases of trafficking are all around us in plain sight,” Pitre said. “Today, you can buy a human being for $200 in any major city in the world.”

Man claims to be serial killer, murderer of Jennifer Kesse

By Nikki Pierce @ February 13, 2009 4:20 PM
WDBO Local News

A video has emerged online of a man claiming to be a serial killer, who wants to lead his viewers to the body of Jennifer Kesse. Kesse vanished in 2006 at the age of 26, and was last seen leaving her condo at the Mosaic in the Millenia area.

So far, the only clue to her disappearance is the discovery of her car in a nearby apartment parking lot, and some grainy video of an unidentified person dropping it off. But a man in a video linked to Jennifer Kesse's YouTube page claims to know where she is.

"I've decided to confess a few things," intones a digitally distorted voice.

The man, whose face is also blurred, calls himself the "catch me killer," and invites all viewers to play his "game." He says he's killed 16 people, that Jennifer Kesse is one of them, and that he'll offer clues to finding the bodies one by one.

Jennifer's father Drew Kesse is furious, and issued the "catch me killer" an online challenge. "I said he was a coward, he was a punk, he had no guts, and if he really is the person, he needs to come forward and do something," states Kesse.

And apparently, the mystery man did do something...apologize. Kesse says the so-called "catch me killer" has just placed a call to the media admitting the video was a hoax and saying he was sorry. But sorry doesn't cut it, says Kesse. "Unfortunately, the wheels of justice have started, and he should've never started his game," he says.

Kesse wants the man prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Man claims online that he’s a serial killer online

Last Edited: Friday, 13 Feb 2009, 12:30 PM EST

The Orlando Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of investigation are trying to find a man who online claims to be a serial killer and that Jennifer Kesse may be one of his victims. Kesse was has been missing for three years. She was last seen at her condo near the mall at Millenia.

The investigation into this self proclaims serial killer all started here with a message on Jennifer Kesse's you tube page. It reads "maybe I can help” written by Catchmekiller. Click his name and you'll be linked to a page titled "serial killer confession". A man who's blurred his face and distorted his voice. "I've decided to confess a few things," says the catchmekiller.

Catchmekiller wants thousands of people to play his game. He claims he's murdered 16 people over the last 8 years and wants to lead those who play his games to the bodies one by one. "Whenever one body is found...another clue is on and gives you one small step closer to who I am and where I am," the man claims.

In a phone interview today Drew Kesse, Jennifer's father, told FOX he's disgusted. "To me you just can't hardly get any lower than this."

While Drew Kesse thinks this is a cruel joke, there's a chance its not. "You've got to take it seriously until you can prove it any different."

Drew Kesse posted a message for catchmekiller on Jennifer's site "talk is very cheap, explain yourself, either you know something or you don’t which is it and why post here." And, Drew Kesse has a challenge for this self proclaimed serial killer, "Give some family an exact information that no one knows...an exact place...where one of these 16 is located...then we'll know you're real...we'll know this is not a game we're onto something." And until then, "Catch me killer on you tube, you really have no guts. Whoever you are come out. Be a man, cause you're not a man. You're nothing more than a punk," said Drew Kesse.

Jennifer Kesse's case has with been compared with Tara Grinstaed's case. Grinstead is a 32 year old woman missing Georgia woman. Catch me killer's first clue is on the Georgia woman's disappearance. He claims to have slit her throat. While catch me killer did not show his face. It obvious he's a white male. He has distinctive spikey hair, a goatee, and he's wearing a wedding ring.

Jennifer Kesse case keeps detective busy after 3 years and 1,000 tips
One investigator is dedicated to solving the Jennifer Kesse case.

Bianca Prieto | Sentinel Staff Writer
May 12, 2009

It has been more than three years since Jennifer Kesse (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/topic/crime-law-justice/crimes/jennifer-kesse-PECLB002341.topic) was abducted, and the search for her is at a near-standstill.

Clues come in, though investigators say they are no closer to finding her than the day she went missing.

Since Jennifer Kesse disappeared, the Orlando Police Department has investigated 126 murders — mostly of young black men — and are still looking for killers in 40 of those cases.

The 40 unsolved murders, plus a slew of cold cases and a handful of missing-persons cases, are divided among seven detectives.

But to OPD, the Jennifer Kesse case is special: One investigator is dedicated to solving it.

Detective Joel Wright shifted back to a full-time investigation to find Jennifer Kesse in August not because of any one tip, but because of the mountain of leads police have received during the past three years.

Jennifer Kesse's case garnered more than 1,000 tips — almost exceeding any other case Orlando police have worked, authorities said.

"We're still poring over all of those leads," said Deputy Chief Sonya White, who oversees the Investigative Services Bureau. "I don't want to give any false indication that there is a new tip that's come in, but we're just making sure that we've satisfied all of the tips that we've received."

But cases like that of Mildred Beaubrun, an 18-year-old black woman who was shot after she refused to give her phone number to a man at a gas station last May 19, receive very few. She died several weeks later after being removed from life support.

Beaubrun's family members said that leads about her killer are scarce. Shortly after the shooting, OPD released sketches of the two men who witnesses said were involved in her murder.

Beaubrun's family said her case deserves just as much attention as Jennifer Kesse's.

"It should not be an issue of the color of her skin — it shouldn't matter if she is black, white, purple or green," said Margaret Francis, Beaubrun's aunt. "She was shot because she said no to someone who wanted her phone number."

White said race has nothing to do with OPD's allocation of investigative resources.

"What we care about is the safety of all citizens, and what we work with in investigations are leads," White said. "If we have a lead in a young black male's homicide, it's going to be followed up as diligently as if they were not black."

Months of publicity
Kesse was a 24-year-old professional, an employee at Westgate Resorts, when she vanished from her condo near the Mall at Millenia (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/topic/services-shopping/mall-at-millenia-ORSTB000076.topic) on Jan. 24, 2006. Three years later, she is one of a handful of missing, endangered adults in Orlando.

OPD has case files on all of them. Unlike the overwhelming majority of other cases, Jennifer Kesse's garnered months of publicity and generated scores of leads.

"There's Crimeline, America's Most Wanted, the family's tip line, the guest book on her Web site and people who call in to the station when something runs on TV," said Wright, naming various ways the department receives tips.

Wright and an agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement have worked to investigate tips and oversee input of leads into a central database.

What have police learned in the past nine months? They're not saying much.

"We've positively been able to identify people who looked like suspects in the beginning and [have] cleared them," said Sgt. Roger Brennan, who oversees the homicide unit. "But we still don't know where Jennifer is."

White was hesitant to release any new information. She said an upcoming meeting between police and Jennifer Kesse's family will help determine the next step.

Jennifer Kesse's parents live with a mixture of agony and anticipation. So for father Drew Jennifer Kesse, the full-time work by Wright brings his family hope.

"We feel very good that three years and three months later, that they still continue to investigate," he said. "They still feel that Jennifer is findable, that they aren't going to stop ... "

More work for others
Wright's work on the Jennifer Kesse case means more work for other detectives on other cases. When he was given Kesse as a full-time assignment, his other active and cold-case assignments were divided among the seven other detectives in the unit.

For the first time, OPD had to use members from the assault-and-battery unit as backup homicide detectives in some of the less-complicated cases, authorities said.

And soon, Detective Reginald Campbell will retire after 23 years with the department. His departure will leave the unit with six detectives working active cases — the same number the unit had in 2006 when Orlando murders skyrocketed.

Barring new, substantive leads, however, Wright said he has come to a point in the Jennifer Kesse case where there is little more he can do.

"I see a time, probably in the near future, where we can go back to me working murders and following up on new leads [in the Kesse case]," he said. "I want to find Jennifer more than anything else, but the odds get worse as time goes on."

It has been three years since Jennifer Kesse vanished from her Florida condo. Up next, I will speak to Jennifer`s heartbroken dad about this family`s nightmarish ordeal. Then a preview of tomorrow`s dramatic courtroom face-off in the Anna Nicole Smith drug case. You won`t believe it.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: In the spotlight tonight, Jennifer Kesse, the beautiful, young, Florida woman who vanished three years ago without a trace, not a single trace.

Concern began when the ambitious financial analyst did not show up to work one January morning in 2006. Her car found abandoned near her Orlando condo. Cops have only a few clues. Surveillance footage shows a man parking Jennifer`s car and leaving it on the side of the road and walking away from it. The footage grainy, but images continuously circulated in the hopes that somebody out there may know who this creep is.

The case is now reaching a somewhat desperate phase. Cops say they need new leads or it might go cold. The Orlando Police Department has assigned one detective to work on Jennifer`s disappearance full time, but his undivided attention to this case may soon be over.

Jennifer`s anguished parents are set to meet with authorities soon to plan the next step. I want to bring in a very special guest: Drew Kesse, Jennifer`s father.

Drew, thanks for being here. I can`t even imagine what you, and your wife and your entire family have been going through since your beautiful daughter disappeared. It`s hell, I`m sure.

DREW KESSE, JENNIFER`S FATHER: Yes.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: You will likely meet with police soon. What would you like to see happen next in this investigation?

KESSE: After three years, and we`re getting up to four months now, I think they need to be up front with us, which most of the time they have. I really have to say that, but if it`s starting to be cold, then I must say that when I opened up the "Orlando Sentinel" this morning, actually, on the front page I was quite surprised at what I read. I would have expected that information to truly come from the police before I read it in "The Orlando Sentinel," but it`s -- it`s...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: It`s got to hurt.

KESSE: It`s -- you know, you say it`s a hell. I`ve -- I`ve been known to say I wish I could get back into hell, that would be a step up. But it`s so frustrating, especially for Jennifer, the challenges that we`ve had all along. It`s heartbreaking, as me as her father, responsible, truly in my mind to find her no matter what. It`s -- it`s -- it`s becoming extremely difficult on the entire family at this point.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Our thoughts are with you, and we want to help any way we can. Let`s take a closer look at the surveillance video.

One of the very few clues in this baffling case is surveillance cameras captured Jennifer`s car being parked and then abandoned. It`s right there in the top right-hand corner. A 2004 black Chevy Malibu. Surveillance video also captured the man getting out of the car.

Now, the video is very difficult to see, but it`s the only hint we have as to who may be responsible. Now, this is what I want to know from you, Drew. Why are we seeing this particular image of him behind the pole? Why don`t they take it a few frames earlier where you could basically see his face? This is the worst angle to freeze this from.

KESSE: This is probably the luckiest person on earth. It is a surveillance camera that takes a shot every three seconds, every three seconds, his face, as you see, sat behind a pole.

However, if someone knows that person, we`ve said it many times, you would be able to know if that`s your brother, your sister, your uncle, your cousin, a friend. You would be able to tell. You don`t have to see someone`s face to know that that is someone.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And he looks like a young man. He looks like a young guy, a slim, young guy, medium build, medium height. Find this -- find this creep, people!

Drew, thanks. Please come back. We want to help you.

KESSE: Thank you.

Kesse's Parents See Link To Ocasio Case

Missing Women Frequented Same Areas, Bar

POSTED: 2:24 pm EDT June 4, 2009
UPDATED: 2:53 pm EDT June 4, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The parents of missing woman Jennifer Kesse said they see connections between their daughter's disappearance and that of Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio.

Kesse, 28, has been missing for 40 months.

Drew and Joyce Kesse said their daughter had gone to the Tap Room in Metro West -- the bar 27-year-old Ocasio was last seen at -- and had lived near the establishment at one time. She also worked in Ocoee for four years, where a person of interest in the Ocasio case lives and where Ocasio's car was found.

"That was her old hang. That was her old neighborhood," Drew Kesse said.

However, they are reluctant to commit themselves to the theory, and add that it is not the strongest lead they have had since their daughter went missing.

"We've been on this roller coaster ride many, many times," Drew Kesse said.

The Kesses met with the Orlando Police Department Thursday for a regular update on the case.

Joyce Kesse said their investigators are looking into the connections.

"Let them do their jobs and do the best we can to stay strong and stay positive," she said.

"One of these time it has to be it," Drew Kesse added.

Ocoee police have said that James Hataway, 28, is a person of interest in the Ocasio case. Hataway, 28, remains in jail on bond due to unrelated drug charges.

Ocasio, 27, reportedly gave Hataway a ride home from the Tap Room in Metro West. There is security footage from the Florida Tap Room Bar that shows Tracy Ocasio leaving the establishment with a man around 1 a.m. last Tuesday. Investigators believe the man seen on that tape with the missing woman is Hataway.

I do hope they can link this POS to both woman..Jennifer needs to be brought home....

Praying for justice...:innocent0001:

Detectives Find Possible Link To Jennifer Kesse Case

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Jennifer Kesse has haunted her parents and detectives for more than three years.

Investigators are taking a close look at James Hataway who is a prime suspect in the disappearance of Tracy Ocasio. Hataway may be linked to as many as six cases in the area including 27-year-old Ocasio who disappeared last week on May 27.

Eyewitness News talked to the Kesses and Orlando detectives, looking into the Ocasio case. Jennifer's parents think there are similarities in the cases.

They say Jennifer worked in Ocoee where Hataway lives and she also frequented Metro West where Tracy Ocasio was last seen alive.

James Hataway, 28, who is the focus of investigators in two disappearances and possibly four assaults, is 5 feet 10 inches tall and police say he could be the man who was captured by a surveillance camera walking away from Jennifer Kesse's car three and a half years ago.

The suspect seen on this surveillance video was estimated to be inches shorter, but that's not stopping Orlando Police Department's full-time Kesse detective from investigating a possible connection.

"I would say there's some leeway there 5'5 to 5'11. We're not going to be held to these measurements. Our person could be taller than 5'5," said Orlando Detective Joel Wright.

Drew and Joyce Kesse had already planned to meet with Orlando police Thursday, before they ever heard Hataway's name. However, they said they are focused on figuring out a possible connection.

Jennifer used to go to the Tap Room in Metro West, where police believe Ocasio was last seen alive with Hataway.

"That is Jennifer's old neighborhood. She lived next door to the Tap Room there," said Drew Kesse.

"She worked in Ocoee for four years," said Joyce Kesse.

Hataway has willingly given Ocoee detectives a DNA sample. He admits to being in Tracy Ocasio's car, but says it was long before she disappeared.

If investigators find Tracy, his DNA would be very helpful in figuring out whether he was involved in her disappearance.

Orlando police don't believe they have enough of a DNA sample in the Kesse case to get any match.

"We've had ups and downs before," said Joyce.

Ocoee police are getting help from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in the case. They are using sonar to search areas that are known dumping grounds and are planning to use dive team to aide in the search.

SUSPECT IN MISSING WOMAN CASE MAY BE TIED TO 5 OTHERS

Eyewitness News learned that one more person has come forward Wednesday, claiming James Hataway attacked her.

Ocoee police arrested James Hataway (read booking history) late Monday night, who they say was the last person to see missing 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio on May 27 after a Magic game. He has been named the prime suspect in her disappearance.

Ocoee police have linked a total of six possible victims to James Hataway, including Ocasio.

I need clarification on a few points:
My understanding is that a guest had left a cell phone which she intended to mail to him but that she did not in fact do so. Since her work clothes that she intended to wear were found laid out at her home, any errand involving the phone would have required some separate outfit. I feel it most unlikely any separate outfit would have been donned for a separate excursion. To me this makes it virtually certain she came to grief inside her apartment complex and that her attacker(s) knew her car and its location in the condo complex.
Is there ANYthing at all that would alter this view?

Donna said he dropped out of high school, but did get his G.E.D. and said he does construction work and also worked at Perkins and Starbucks.

http://www.wftv.com/news/19648776/detail.html

According to James Hataway's mother he had worked at Perkins. This is a bakery and restaurant. The person in the Huntington on the Green video looks like he might be wearing a uniform someone in a bakery might wear. I would like to know which Perkins JH worked at and when he worked there. There is a Perkins on Conroy St. which is down the street from Jennifer's Condo.

I would also like to know more about his construction job and whether there may have been a connection to Jennifer's condo.

Hi FoolsGold!! The following is an interview with Drew Kesse and his responses may answer your question:

Police excavate site in search for missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse

Willoughby Mariano | Sentinel Staff Writer
4:58 PM EDT, June 29, 2009

Investigators turned up empty-handed today after digging up land they hoped would help them find missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse, Orlando police spokeswoman Sgt. Barbara Jones said.

The day-long excavation took place on land near John Young Parkway and Millenia Boulevard, a short drive away from Kesse's Mosaic at Millenia condominium. Homicide investigators and Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents used heavy equipment to dig a large hole after a private search group said the area may be of interest to investigators, Jones said.

Jones did not give further details about the tip or give the name of the search group, but did say they used trained dogs to identify the area.

There are no further plans to dig at the site, Jones said.

Kesse disappeared Jan. 24, 2006. Police think she was abducted. Her car was later found at the Huntington on the Green apartment complex near her home.

Hi FoolsGold!! The following is an interview with Drew Kesse and his responses may answer your questionWell, they didn't exactly, but thanks for the lead. I do not for a moment agree with the "trafficked out of the country" but it is often more emotionally acceptable for relatives to think such things.
Does anyone know if the cell phone she was to mail was found in the apartment or not? IF she had entered her vehicle and started driving to a nearby "storefront shipping business" of some sort, would the route she would take have been one that passed near where her car was actually found?

Crews look for signs of Jennifer Kesse

August 2, 2009

Dozens of searchers from across Florida began a weekend quest looking for remains of a woman missing from her Orlando neighborhood since 2006.

Jennifer Kesse disappeared Jan. 24, 2006. She was 24 at the time, and police think she was abducted from the Mosaic at Millenia condominium where she lived.

Searchers spent hours Saturday marching through woods and homeless camps but came up empty-handed.

They were looking for any clues to her disappearance in an area stretching from near Orlando International Airport to portions of Ocoee. That is where the search for another missing woman, Tracy Ocasio, 27, has focused.

There might be some overlap in the search, but there was none Saturday.

The search crews need no volunteers and will be out in force again today.

Kesse, Ocasio Search Ends With No New Clues
Sunday, August 02, 2009 3:18:09 PM

ORLANDO -- The newest search for Jennifer Kesse wrapped up Sunday with no signs of the missing Orlando woman.

Nearly three dozen specially trained volunteers, along with search dogs, were back out near Kesse's home near the Mall at Millenia searching for any signs that could help in the investigation.

Searchers went into the weekend knowing it would be tough to find any clues. But they say their work in Central Florida may not be done.

They now say they're working on a new search for missing Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio.

"That is in the planning stage at this point,” said searcher Joe St. Cyr. “We've been in the planning stages with the family, but we also need to contact Ocoee police before we do any type of search but that is in the works at this time."

Ocasio hasn't been seen since late May when she left a MetroWest bar with James Hataway. He's a person of interest in the case. Hataway is behind bars on other charges.

SMART Team Reviewing Jennifer Kesse Case

Posted: 12:17 pm EDT September 9, 2009
Updated: 1:17 pm EDT September 9, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Orlando investigators started working Wednesday with a special team to try to find new leads in the case of Jennifer Kesse. Orlando police met with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and members of a multi-agency task force.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VIDEO REPORT: Kesse Case Being Reviewed
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kesse has been missing since January 2006. Wednesday's meeting was to get a fresh perspective on the case.

"The key behind the SMART panel is to have people who are not engaged in that particular investigation so you have a set of fresh eyes coming in that are completely unfamiliar with it," FDLE Special Agent Danny Banks said.

The FDLE created the specialized multi-agency review team, also known as SMART. It started in 2003 and has solved numerous cold cases.

Family of missing woman getting threats

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - In January of 2006 Drew Kesse’s daughter Jennifer Kesse vanished from her apartment near the Mall at Millenia. Now more worries for her father as police investigate death threats against him.

After Jennifer Kesse disappeared, www.jenniferkesse.com was set up to help find the missing girl. For years people have posted well wishes, encouragement, even tips on where the girl might be. And every morning Drew Kesse reads the guestbook portion of the site.

In the last few months some of the emails have taken a different tone. Some of the emails FOX 35 obtained say “I have a beef with you” and some, what he calls a full on threat on his life. “I know what you drive. I see where you live. I go where you like to go. I hope you all are not involved in any accidents.”

Kesse has blocked the IP address for the person or persons sending the threats. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/) is now gathering all of the emails and FOX 35 has learned investigators have a good handle on who the person may be. Information will soon be sent to the state attorney to see if charges can be filed for cyber stalking.

But in the meantime the already distraught father has to worry that this person may take the emails one step further but he says he’s ready for what could happen next. “The thing that is not going to happen to the Kesses again is we are not going to be victimized and we will not become victims again.”

Last year threatening voicemails showed up on Drew Kesse's answering machine. Police investigated but the state attorney decided not to prosecute.

This needs to be taken very seriously, IMO..if that means the Keese's are getting too close for comfort to the one responsible for Jennifers murder, then the authorities need to act quickly. An IP address is just as good as a home address. They know who it is...

Drew Kesse said the offer is only good for his daughter's safe return -- and only for the next month and a half. He said he would make an official statement Thursday morning.

He believes that his daughter became the victim of human trafficking. He said that after four years he hopes that whoever has Jennifer is ready to give her up.

Jennifer Kesse was last seen at her condo complex, The Mosaic, near the Mall at Millenia, in January 2006.

Drew Kesse said he was frustrated with Orlando police. He said investigators haven't told him anything lately.

4 Years Later, Kesse’s Parents Up Ante

ORLANDO -- Sunday marks four years since Jennifer Kesse disappeared from her Orlando home.

Kesse was 24 when she vanished on Jan. 24, 2006. Her car was found a few days later, about a mile away from her condominium.

Surveillance video showed a man using her car not long after she disappeared. Investigators said they had very few clues and made no arrests, but they believe Kesse was abducted.

Four years later, there have been no new leads, but as the case grows colder, Kesse’s family continues working to try to make sure their heartbreak doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Jennifer’s parents, Drew and Joyce Kesse, hosted a community safety event Saturday.

The “Beacon of Hope for the Missing” event included free fingerprinting and ID cards for children, personal safety training and even a martial arts school.

The event took place from from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mall at Millenia.

As for the Jennifer Kesse case, her family has upped the ante, hoping the event can serve as an outlet to collect new leads.

The reward for information leading to Jennifer’s safe return has gone from $1,000 to $1 million. And $10,000 to find a person of interest in the investigation.

The rewards will only be offered until Feb. 24.

I do hope Drew Kesse is correct and Jennifer is still alive, I truly have my doubts. If she is alive, whoever has her or whoever knows who has her, should take advantage of this huge reward and help bring Jennifer home..:give_rose:

Terrible how money talks...but whatever will work, I'd be glad to do it also, if my family member has been missing all this time...:sad0119:

I might believe the trafficking aspect more if it didn't appear she'd been taken from her condo parking lot, but I sure can't fault her dad for still having hope that she's alive. Bless him, I don't know how he's still holding up as well as it seems.

$1,000,000 reward offered for the safe return of Jennifer Kesse

2010 January 29

January 24th, marked the anniversary of the 4th year Jennifer Kesse has been missing. Her parents have a new reward up for $1,000,000 for the safe return of Jennifer. This offer is good until February 24,th 2010.
Mrs. Kesse recently posted on an earlier blog I did about George and Cindy Anthony, the grandparents of Caylee Anthony, and the parents of her accused killer, Casey. In her comment, she spoke passionately about her disgust at people who would profit from the death of their child, and wanted people to know that not all victim’s relatives exploit their situation. Below is a portion of her comment.
……… FYI-Drew and I, parents of Abducted Jennifer Kesse-age 24,from in or near her Mosaic at Millenia in Orlando 1/24/06, a gated security guarded complex-(folks do not be deceived and let your guard down) HAVE NEVER BEEN PAID TO DO A TV INTERVIEW IT NEVER EVEN CAME UP NOR HAVE WE EVER CHARGED ANYONE FOR PICTURES. The media’s help in keeping the awareness of this heinous crime is all we ask, not financial compensation. We are hard working, middle class people who have unconditional love for both our children and not all parents of missing children, EXPLOIT the situation for financial gain. We do not have attorneys representing us or any of our family members….we do not need representation. SPEAKS volumes about the type of individuals the Anthony’s are….please never put us in the same category. They choose to view themselves as victims….we have verbalized time and time again, Jenn is the victim, this is about finding her, we are the by-products of this heinous crime. Thankyou-please visit http://www.findjenniferkesse.com (http://www.findjenniferkesse.com/) pass the website to everyone in your address book here/abroad and ask them to do the same.
Jennifer is the victim of a crime that all our daughters and sons (but mostly are daughters) are vulnerable to, and all parents of young adult children fear: She has disappeared without a trace. If you have not read about what is believed to have happened to Jennifer, please visit her website for more information.

Anna, I don't have the plug-in installed that allows something on the site to show up; I suspect it's the video.

The link you posted doesn't have the "www." in it - this is Jennifer's site:

These pictures are in BITMAP and JPG form which are the two most common picture files online. When you click the photos, your browser will open into a new window. The photos may take some time to load. Please click each one and look at them very closely.

Please be patient for the download time, even at the size they are on this page, the file size of the picture is still very big. When you blow them up, the file size is extremely large and will take some time. Thank You for your patience!

Detectives aren't even sure if the person of interest is a man or a woman. They're asking the public to focus less on the person's clothes and more on the body style or hair style. Police even canvassed salons asking workers to pay attention.

Study the entire picture. Click the photo and enlarge it, then save it as your desktop background for a few days.

Look at the time stamp of the enlarged photo. Someone knows these clothes. Someone knows this man or woman.

hi annalyzer, nope, don't have the video [oh, I see you were referring to the posted link :)]. The few times I saw it was linked at Orlando Sentinel. I'll be honest with you, it's so dark I have no idea what's going on.

What I have are three stills from the video, the two posted above by Jute and a third (suspect behind the tree) that was on a pic site, can't remember which one. I had to do some major brightness adjustments to be able to see details in them too.

All the work is in my Jennifer Kesse POI Blowup thread. It took months to put together. It's a bit overwhelming without spending a lot of time examining it. Well, even then it's a bit overwhelming. :)

That area is a little over an hour away from Jenn's condo. If she was abducted early in the morning as she left for work, and the car was returned at 12 noon to Huntington on the Green, that would allow enough time for traveling the distance.

I hope there is a resolution to this case soon... it is long overdue...

I haven't seen any chatter about possibility of being Jennifer as if already known unlikely, say probably a man or something based on recovery witnesses, but really haven't seen anything at all yet.

Will keep checking till we have some idea who this might be.

Mr. Holt was also scheduled for a bail hearing today.

The completely skeletonized body was recovered and taken to the medical examiners office yesterday.

Although the remains have not been identified officially, a source inside the investigation speaking to blinkoncrime.com has confirmed there was a search team in place with cadaver k9’s, based on information provided by an individual.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- What's being called a credible tip has led to a new search for Jennifer Kesse. The Orlando woman disappeared in January 2006.

"The Orlando Police Department, FDLE and Investigations are following up a tip in the Jennifer Kesse Missing/Endangered Adult Case," investigators wrote in a morning release.

Orlando police are searching in a field near Oak Ridge Road, west of Orange Blossom Trail (see map). The search comes on the heels of a tip.

The search effort appears to be at least a dozen members strong (images | raw video | more video). Agents from the Orlando Police Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Orange County Sheriff's Office are methodically searching a small section of the huge field off Orange Blossom Trial.

Investigators said "any areas of interest will be thoroughly examined." Sgt. Barb Jones with the Orlando Police Department told Eyewitness News the tip was solidified once a police dog got on scene and focused on something in the ground.

The field quickly became filled with investigators, vehicles and heavy machinery around mid-morning. The search in the case of missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse focused on a specific section of the field where a front end loader dug into the ground.

At one point, detectives sifted through the sand, evidently looking for a tiny particle, and it appeared a cloth or piece of clothing was pulled from the ground, as well. Ground radar units were also used to figure out if anything was under the dirt.

“I don't have any specific information about what it is that led the investigators to this area,” Sgt. Jones said (watch raw video).

WFTV reporter Ryan Hughes spoke to Jennifer's dad, Drew, on the phone Friday morning. He said he thought the tip came from out of town or out of state

“I am shaking right now. This one is off the charts,” Drew told Hughes. “It is hitting very hard.”

Drew told Eyewitness News he won't come to the scene, but said he's certain they'll find something.

"The Kesses want to know what happened to their daughter. The Orlando police wants to know. So does everyone in the country," Sgt. Jones said.

Kesse was 25 years old when she disappeared from her Mosaic Millenia condo (see map | map from search area to apartment) in Orlando in January 2006. Police later found her car at an apartment complex a mile from her home. Surveillance video captured someone walking away from the car, but investigators have been unable to identify that person.

Investigators say there have been over 1,000 tips in the case.

Stay tuned to Eyewitness News and WFTV.com for updates to this developing story.

A search was under way early Friday morning in a vacant field near where Jennifer Kesse disappeared more than four years ago.

The area is near the Mall at Milennia. Kesse lived at an apartment complex in the area.

Despite two SWAT team raids that turned up nothing, Orlando police and the parents of Jennifer Kesse said the search for the 24-year-old is moving forward. The SWAT team moved in Sunday night on two houses on 40th Street, near Rio Grande Avenue.

Police said Kesse may still be alive. Detectives said patrol officers who work the street have heard talk that Kesse is still alive, which was why Sunday night's tip was treated with such urgency.

But word that Kesse was being held in a boarding house a few miles from her condo turned out to be false. Police said it was a solid lead that brought them to the boarding house along Orange Blossom Trail.

"We were hoping for a Cinderella ending," said Sgt. Rich Ring, Orlando Police Department detective.

But a room-by-room search of the building and a nearby house yielded no sign of Jennifer.

"Right now, there's nothing that indicates she was there. We're still following that up. We're still working that," Sgt. Ring said.

Sgt. Ring spoke to the tipster himself Sunday afternoon. Two other detectives met with the caller in person. Four hours later, they raided the building. The tipster was so credible, they believed it was the information they'd been waiting for.

Nothing Found In Field After Tip In Jennifer Kesse Case

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A credible tip in the Jennifer Kesse case led investigators to a vacant field in Orange County Friday, but nothing was found. The Orlando woman disappeared in January 2006.

"We have concluded the search of the areas of interest as it related to the Jennifer Kesse Tip. The search yielded negative results," Sgt Barb Jones wrote in a released emailed around 2:40pm.

Orlando police said the area hasn’t officially been dismissed, but Friday’s search is coming to an end.

Angry, crude postings to Jennifer Kesse website

http://wdbo.com/images/2009/06/kesse_m.jpg

The father of the missing Orlando woman normally doesn't allow the comments to be read, because of their nature, but postings made on Valentine's Day crossed the line.

Drew Kesse said the person who spouts the hate toward him and Orlando police has been blocked eight times from the website (http://www.jenniferkesse.com/), but keeps changing his IP address and returns.

Now, Kesse is planning to fight his online accuser by going to Tallahassee and pushing for a new tougher laws that deal with threats. Read HB 317 (http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Bills/billsdetail.aspx?BillId=42615) and SB 860 (http://www.flsenate.gov/data/session/2010/Senate/bills/billtext/pdf/s0860.pdf).

"We have a problem with our laws and we must look to fix them," he wrote in an email to WDBO news.

A $1 million reward for information leading to her return expires later this month.

Last January 23, at the Mall at Millenia, the Kesses participated in a Community Safety Event in which two thousand people attended. A handful even offered their DNA to help find a missing loved one.

Jennifer Kesse vanished from her Orlando condo on January 24, 2006. Her parked car was found a mile from her home. A security camera caught a person leaving the car and walking away. That person was never identified.

Million dollar reward expires tonight for missing Gaither graduate

The million-dollar reward posted in the Jennifer Kesse case is about to expire, but the $15,000 one advertised on Joyce Kesse's vehicle will remain.

A million dollar reward posted in the Jennifer Kesse case is about to expire, but the mystery of what happened to the Gaither High School graduate still has not been solved.

It's been over four years since the then 24 year-old disappeared from her apartment in Orlando. Kesse graduated from Gaither High School in Tampa and her family still lives in the Bay area. The Kesses put up the huge reward last month, but it expires tonight.

"Unfortunately, the phones haven't rang,'' said Kesse's mother, Joyce Kesse.

Last week, police follower up a tip and dug up a vacant field in Orlando. Officers spent hours searching along South Orange Blossom Trail, near where Kesse disappeared. The search came up empty.

"That was probably the second worst day of our lives,'' Joyce Kesse said. "We've had a lot of roller coasters, but that one was just of a completely different intensity.''

Tyler J. Green, 28, of Clermont is out on bond faced stalking-related charges in connection with threats made against the family of missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse. (Lake County Jail / March 16, 2010)

Cyber threats against family of missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse lead to arrest

The family of missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse said they tried for years to call law enforcement's attention to a man they said was making threatening phone calls and sending menacing messages to them over the Internet.

Tyler J. Green, 28, of Clermont is out on bond on a second-degree felony count of written threats to kill or do bodily injury and one count of first-degree misdemeanor stalking in the case.

In 2007, Green dug up personal information on two officers in the Internal Affairs section, threatened them and made harassing phone calls to them for seven months, according to an Orlando police report. Charges were dropped.

Jennifer Kesse's father Drew Kesse is worried that it's only a matter of time before Green acts on his threats.

"All the writing's on the wall that this person is going to hurt someone," Kesse said.

Green did not respond to a request for comment.

Police think Jennifer Kesse was abducted from her Orlando condominium near the Mall at Millenia Jan. 24, 2006. Her case remains unsolved.

The harassment of the Kesses began in August 2007, when a stalker made threatening phone calls to their home, Drew Kesse said. The man said he knew what cars the family drove.

"I hope you don't get in to an accident," the stalker said, according to Drew Kesse.

The stalker said the missing woman's younger brother was "next," and wrote expletive-filled tirades against police and others on the website.

The stalker also used messages on jenniferkesse.com to threaten members of the Kesse family, Drew Kesse said.

Drew Kesse and wife Joyce Kesse filed for a injunctions Dec. 15, submitting more than 100 pages of supporting evidence, Drew Kesse said. Their request was dismissed before a court hearing took place, according to Manatee County court records.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents subpoenaed an Internet company in December and February to find out which subscriber sent the messages, according to an affidavit for Green's arrest.

They traced the messages to the account of Clermont-area resident Larry Green, who denied sending the messages, but mentioned his son Tyler Green developed paranoid schizophrenia and post-traumatic stress disorder after the deaths of relatives, the affidavit states.

"He [Larry Green] was aware that his son Tyler had episodes, but did not realize that they were creating criminal acts," it states.

Thank you, Harmony. This man is frightening and has a history of threatening and stalking LE! He has been released on $6,000.00 bond. I don't get it.

Tyler Green was arrested Friday and released on $6,000 bond Monday evening.

In 2007, Orlando Police issued a warrant for his arrest on counts of aggravated stalking and corruption by threat against a public servant, saying he harassed members of Orlando police's Internal Affairs section for seven months, according to a police report.

Tyler Green was upset after being issued a trespass warning in June 2006 while at the Central Florida Fairgrounds on West Colonial Drive. He called Internal Affairs to complain. The department sent him paperwork to complete and submit, but he never did.

Instead, Tyler Green called officers repeatedly and dug up their personal information, including the name of an officer's relative, the report states. He and said he had a handgun he used to protect himself from people he "has issues with," the report states.

A search of Green's Clermont-area home revealed "numerous firearms," computer equipment and hand-written notes referring to then-Orlando Police Chief Mike McCoy and other officers, the report states.

Tyler Green was also arrested on marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession counts. He agreed to enter a pre-trial diversion program, and Orange County prosecutors dropped the stalking-related charges Aug. 2009.

He pleaded in Lake County court in the drug-possession charges and was sentenced to one year probation, according to Lake County court records. Adjudication of guilt was withheld.

Why is he being given so many chances?
