Off/T...good start! I watched a doc on BTK last night, and all i've got to say is :thud2:

One thing they didn't make clear, was why there was such a long gap between murders...does anyone know?

How long have you been a true crime buff? And is that a difficult avocation in your country where the laws concerning crimes and courts are very different? And is that why you turn here? Or is it that we have so many more crimes to follow?

BTK -- the despicable Dennis Rader -- had a stable marriage and children. He also had a job where he was able to boss strangers. He was the animal control officer, as I recall. And was able to troll neighborhoods and look for "miscreants" to harrass.

It has been theorized that that satisfied him. But his undoing came from a desire for attention. When BTK unretired and began to taunt police he got caught.

Add to his list of dead victims his ex-wife and his children who must bear the ignominy of their closeness to such a monster.

And aside to NJ Nurse. Melanie Maguire at one time was "alleged" to have done her crimes but now she is convicted and you don't have to say "alleged" when you write about her crimes.

Tidbit from HEARTLESS: Sally, the basset, was taken in by the Mattarazzos. Had they not loved her before that day, they certainly would have begun to love her knowing that it was her bark that alerted friends that something was amiss. And without her perhaps discovery of the bodies would have been even more delayed.

And Priscilla was haunted by something NE said to her which in retrospect had meaning and was eerie. The author refers to it as "somewhat whiny."

He sat at her kitchen table with a cup of coffee not long after arriving in the US with Rachel and said "Rachel was always more family-oriented than I was."

Shades of Scott Peterson who was always "hoping for infertility." Was it Rachel who wanted a baby and Neil who didn't? This is a tragic and all-too-familiar story.

my hubby had a good point....the defense was trying to say NE dna was on the gun or case because he could have swept by it.. (like the pen) WELL.. I wished the prosecution went right back and said well maybe NE brushed the gun up against RE?? Ya know? All I can say is I HATE the defenses accusations and lines of questioning, its frustrating!

We also summized(sp?) that NE was so distraught when he found them he wanted to get rid of the gun so he brought it back. (How he knew that it was his FIL's gun who knows!) Then he's off to mummy and daddy's. We were just shocked that his att. was asking those questions! I really hope you're right!

I have set aside a new quilt top I'd started in order to be a good girl and pull out one that I began a couple of years ago and got bogged down in because it needed fixin' and that's my least favorite part of quilting--- FIXING MISTAKES!!

However, it will be a very nice quilt and perfect for my bed, that is, it won't be so nice that I won't mind if Macaroon pukes on it. The ones are that too nice I have to give away or sell!!

I rarely get stung, and actually I've never been stung (yet) by a bee from my hive. Honey bees are very gentle and won't usually sting, so don't panic. Don't wave your hands or slap at the bee. You can even sit still and let a bee alight on your hand the same way a butterfly will. In the rare instance that you do get stung, simply scrape the stinger and it will come out and the venom sack (the stuff that hurts) won't burst. Really, it's no big deal at all. :howdy: I love bees. They are fascinating, and as soon as I can get more hives I will.

I rarely get stung, and actually I've never been stung (yet) by a bee from my hive. Honey bees are very gentle and won't usually sting, so don't panic. Don't wave your hands or slap at the bee. You can even sit still and let a bee alight on your hand the same way a butterfly will. In the rare instance that you do get stung, simply scrape the stinger and it will come out and the venom sack (the stuff that hurts) won't burst. Really, it's no big deal at all. :howdy: I love bees. They are fascinating, and as soon as I can get more hives I will.

Maybe but they won't attack you like yellow jackets. I have bumble bees hanging around everywhere outside and they never bother me. They are gentle giants.
