Good morning! It's 5 something here and I thought I would check in before I take Macaroon for a walk in Central Park.
Can't wait for today's testimony which should include the perp's activities online just before and right after the murders.

I also believe that the airline ticket he had originally he got in advance. IN ADVANCE of the killings. Which would make him look even guiltier if possible.

I am totally convinced that despite his narcissism he will not take the stand. Too bad. I'd buy tickets to that cross.

Good morning, all you trial watchers. :0012:

Macaroon, what a cute name for your fur baby, kellabeck.

Thanks, Roamer! He IS a cutie pie! And if we met you and your dog in the Park, he would give your fur baby a sniff and then skirt around your baby and throw himself at you! Dogs are okay, but people! People are IT!!

And thanks to Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, I do believe I have cured his fear of thunder!! I started giving him special treats with each rumble and last night we heard a distant storm and I looked at Macaroon and instead of cowering and shivering, tail down, he was wagging his tail and had an expectant expression. So I got him a special treat. Thunder now = food!! It's a good thing!

Thanks for the treat tip. I hadn't heard that one. I do love Cesar, though, and have gotten so much good stuff from his program.

I have one older dog that is terrified of storms, and a human doctor told me to give her 25 mg of Benadryl. Works like a charm.

Hidey ho all! :happy0207: We used to give my dog valium. That was a lotta years ago when valium was still the drug of choice for humans and pets, I guess.

I missed so much yesterday. Hoping to catch up AND get my work done.

Thanks for the testimonial on the pup and thunder! I am going to have to try that. My dog is also terrified. I hope it works for me as well.

I'm going to try it too. My Asher is just as scared of firecrackers as he is of thunder. July 4 is a dark day around here...he literally wants to crawl into my mouth....:71526:

Britta, my cat, has a special hidey hole for 4th of July. She disappears into it around mid afternoon, and doesn't come out till the next morning.

I have no idea where it is.

For everyone with a scared pet-- please keep in mind that Macaroon started from a point of fear, not terror. Maybe a 6.5 on a scale of 10. I used to have an 11, the late great Willy, black Lab mix rescued from an abuser who also starved him and brought to NYC where he was pretty much terrified everywhere but in the house and then there was the week before and the week after the Fourth. NYC used to be like a war zone!

But then, one of the things he did right, Mayor Giuliani got the city to crack down on illegal firecrackers. What a difference! By that time though, Willy began to go deaf which for him was a blessing. Still I wonder what a different life he might have had had he been rehabilitated by Cesar. Or at least how much less scared he would have been had I not done the exact wrong thing.

In short, I don't know if this technique will work for you and your fur baby, but it seems to have worked for Roonie and it makes such perfect sense. Be sure to behave like thunder/firecrackers is/are nothing. Just make get the noise to be associated with something yummy in your fur baby's mind.

I am not giving my everyday kind of dog cookies but special treats kept as "thunder cookies" and reserved for boomers and rumbles!

Good luck and please report back!

Hope this little post finds everyone well. Congrats on all the graduations, Babies, better weather and all other things good that's going on in your lives. Speeding healling to all those in distress.

I've been MIA (Darn real life) I've been trying to keep up, sounds like not much new news on NE. Still sound like a schmuck to me. EW just needs to give it up and take a plea. What's up with all this Boston to Manchester flight searchs. I search for different flights all the time, on-line travel deals, that kind of thing. Is EW saying that NE wouldn't have killed his wife and baby daughter because he did a cheap flights search. sheesh. If that were the case then I'm planning on going to CO. AZ. TN. FL. HI.........

Actually, I thought it was effective in showing that there was ONE search of an innocent nature and I would say the prosecution should not have entered it into evidence. And the defense will try to use it to make the prosecution seem sneaky or biased against poor Neil. That it is part of their railroading him, their rush to judgment.

It won't work as there is so much other evidence. However, the DA would have been well to omit that particular search.

I know, I hate to say it but if he wanted to plan and get away with it he would have used a non traceable weapon, hid the weapon, trashed and disposed of his pc, made it look like a break in, called the police, establised an alibi, not fled the country. Rachel's stomach was empty. So she hadn't awakened yet.

And we should find out about the baby's. And at that point, if it too was empty, so much for "I fed the baby" story of Neil's. Game set and match!

That surprised me. So that means he probably killed her in the early morning. You're right; can't wait to see what the baby's contents are.

That wound was hidden by her hair and it wasn't a contact wound or that close, so no stipling.

I am still wondering about TOD. The bathwater, the lights on (which leads me to believe it was night or very early morning) the dinner still on the table. It seems Rachel would have cleaned up from dinner.

anyone here know how long until kittens meow? I don't even think at a week the eyes are open. I am sure she just has her tucked somewhere safe and is taking care of here. Momma cats are sneaky and very protective.

I was a foster mom to two kittens who had been abandoned by their mother. Another lady took the other two from the little. I called them Eenie, Meenie, Miney and Mo. They were one week old. Their eyes weren't open. I had to wake up every two hours to feed them with an eye dropper thingy. They did mew but very quietly. They always had to be on a towel with a warm thing under them. I kept them in my lap during the day. Then my adult cat freaked out, and I had to return them to the SPCA for another foster mom to take over. I had them for a week. They were very, very fragile.

Not their brains. Their characters. Their personalities. Just my opinion.

I think he probably did kill them in the early a.m.---even per his story, he left at 9 a.m. and when he arrived back at 11 a.m. he found the bodies, per him.

so I think sometime before 9 a.m. is probably right.

Or did she prepare dinner and Lilian got fussy so she didn't get a chance to eat yet but instead tended to Lilian, tried to feed her or give her a bath and put her down for bed? You all know what it is like to have a 9 month old, you never get a chance to eat at mealtimes. Just putting that out there. Empty stomach doesn't tell me TOD.

Did you all hear Rachel's height and weight? 159 lbs on her 5'2" frame. So it seems she hadn't lost the baby weight yet and I wonder if this wasn't one of the marks against her in Little Neilly's book. Of course, it wasn't unattractive enough that they didn't have sex within days/hours of the murders!

I was thinking that possibly; and I say possibly, that they were killed in early morning. Neil let Rachel sleep in; as he wanted her sleeping when he came in to kill her. He got the baby out of the crib; bathed her and then put her in bed with Rachel. A man would leave the water in the tub; a woman would not.

YEAH, in a trial we JUST saw----can't remember which it was---- a juror had a reaction and had to leave. They called an abrupt break.

Anyone remember what that was? some TH's said it could be reason for a mistrial etc. etc. It was one of the trials we JUST watched---

I just took that murder class? We had our local M.E. give a presentation, and we saw LOTS of gruesome photos during the course of the class and in our text and handouts-----If you are prepared to see them, you can do it. If you aren't prepared? Like this jury likely isn't prepared? I can see it being beyond disturbing.
