MODESTO (AP) ― Modesto police have arrested a registered sex offender on suspicion of kidnapping a 14-year-old girl found in the trunk of his car following a crash.

Modesto police Sgt. Craig Gundlach says 38-year-old Jared Conway was living with the girl's family for about a month before her father reported the two missing early Saturday.

I hope he stays in jail for a very long time!! She could have died in that trunk from heat also. She has a possible spinal injury and he is on state's sex offender list!!
