Have you guys noticed this channel, Investigation Discovery? It's Channel 285 on my DirectTV guide.

I don't know how long it's been around, but I just "discovered" it by accident the other day.

"ID continues its heritage of providing in-depth, compelling documentaries & series that challenge viewers to think about key issues that shae our culture and define our world." (that's their self-description)

It kinda reminds me of what CTV was at one time ... sans the live trials, sadly.

I watch it constantly - it is my very favorite channel!! As soon as I sit down to watch TV, I turn to ID. I highly recommend catching "Most Evil" when you get a chance - love it! :happy0158:

I love this show. I love when Dr. Stone evaluates serial killers and place them in his scale.

I just watched it with the Manson family. Absolutely great show!

I think this is one of the best forensic channels on television. Very thorough investigative reporting. I give it AAA+

Dr. Stone contacted me a few years ago shortly after my second book came out....
He wanted to know if I knew more about child killer Jessica Schwarz' own childhood and history....
We have been emailing off and on ever since....

He placed William Sapp, serial killer in my first book, at 18 on his scale....

I really like him....
He's a very nice, down-to-earth man....

And "Most Evil" is the best show of its kind on television! :zm10:

What have you written, Johnnie's Girl? Welcome to the forum.

I love Most Evil too. It's really good.

When I watch these programs, hubby wants to know if I'm looking for tips to do him in...LMAO Then I get a pad and pencil and really get him going. :girl_haha:

I have written two true crime books:
"Hometown Killer" and "No One Can Hurt Him Anymore".....
The first one is about a serial killer in my hometown....
The second one is about a woman in Florida who abused and finally murdered her stepson...

:girl_haha:@ the last part of your post!

Oh yes, I am totally spoiled with my new TV. Channels I didn't ever know even existed. I am still learning everything. I have to watch myself though, oftentimes at night I start to feel guilty about watching for hours on end, LOL.....it's AMAZING how many crime shows are on.....even WETV often has a bunch of old 20/20s back to back. Between that, a couple others, and ID, anyone interested in crime shows is in 7th heaven!!!! :basic44:

WETV Always shows Snapped...they had a marathon of Snapped not too long ago.

I also found a new one CIN is Crime Investigation Network , they also have Extreme Forensics...You decide..

Great true crime channels....on HDTV...I sometime surf between two stations.

Also on TLC, Dr. G Medical Examiner was on for awhile. I do hope they bring that one back..I loved Dr. G and she explains in laymens terms...

On the Animal planet they have been showing Hauntings...been watching that all weekend...

Alright, you two... now you've done it. I'll never get anything done for doing quizzes!

I'm one who hadn't "discovered" the ID channel but now I'm hooked. I'll have to look for CIN.... I don't know if I get that on DirectTV or not.

DISAPPEARED
World Premiere: Monday, January 11 from 10-11 PM ET
DISAPPEARED follows the unpredictable twists of missing person cases, tracking investigations aimed at solving how and why people simply vanish. While some of the resolutions are heartwarming and others tragic, many cases remain open to this day and continue to be a source of unbearable frustration for family members and friends. Each episode of DISAPPEARED begins from the time immediately before the individual vanished, searching for clues hidden beneath seemingly everyday behavior that may indicate whether or not the person left voluntarily. For the open cases that have gone cold, DISAPPEARED asks viewers to share fresh leads in hopes of deciphering what truly happened to the missing and whether foul play may have been involved.
