Police are looking for a 22-year-old man who is mentally ill and may be carrying a stolen gun.

Kevin Cortez Bradley, 22, was last seen July 2 by his mother at their home on the 1000 block of Pleasant Oak Drive.

At that time, he said he was leaving and going to get in touch with his father, who lives in Atlanta.

Bradley has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and is bipolar, police said. He is not taking medication.

Bradley’s family said he took his stepfather’s gun with him. Police say he may be dangerous

Bradley is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 245 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo of the praying hands on his right arm.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fayetteville police at 433-1856.

Body identified as missing Fayetteville man

Posted by GBNF on August 7, 2008

Fayetteville, N.C. — Police have identified the remains of a body found in the woods on July 26 as those of a missing Fayetteville man.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Kevin Cortez Bradley, 22, of 1091 Pleasant Oak Drive.

He died of a single gunshot wound to the head, police said. Detectives are still investigating his death.

Bradley’s mother reported him missing on July 2.

Eight days later, police sent out a press release asking for the public’s help to find Bradley. According to his mother, he suffered from bipolar disorder and was not taking his medication.

At the time, police said they considered him “armed and dangerous,” because he had stolen a firearm from his stepfather.

Bradley’s skeletal remains were found in the woods off Nan Street.
